Purchase for Koliding Krosses and Winston Ways
First to show is my purchase for this week.  I picked these two fabrics up at Beverly's on Friday.  The blue is to be the back for Koliding Krosses and the black is the final black fabric needed for the collection of 30 blacks for Winston Ways.  I just about have all of Winston Ways cut and ready for October's Bonnie Hunter Workshop.  I'll be taking two workshops the other will be Scrap Crystals.
Krazy Krones
Krazy Krones was finished last week.  This oh so adorable Buggy Barn design is called If the Hat Fits.  I honestly think the noses look more like pickles...don't you?  The quilting which is difficult to see is perfect.  It is called Gossamer; a spider web.  Kerry's Quilting did an awesome job with it.  I'm ready for Halloween!
Konqueror
Konqueror came home with me Friday.  Kerry had it waiting for me.  The fabrics aren't the brightest, but I do like how they all work together.  I'll be attaching sleeve, binding, and label during the week.  This is a pattern by Joyce Weeks of Geoff's Mom Pattern Company called Survivors.  The quilting on it is called Shell Shock and thread is Signet Ring.
Krackerjack
Krackerjack is keeping me busy right  now.  There is a setting that goes between the star blocks.  I have at least two more stars to assemble...depends on how many of the 2 1/2" corner of the star blocks I can get out of this fabric.  I have plenty of the white and the flower centers.  We'll just have to see.  Krackerjack is a pattern by Bloc Loc called Star Fusion.

Krazy Krones
I'm working on Krazy Krones among several other projects :).  Krazy Krones needs the swoosh between the star and the tip of the hat on each of the eight witches.  I have six of them done right now.  I'm using either gold or black pearl cotton thread depending on what background the witch has.  The gray one in the photo will probably be gold.  This project is the last of my Buggy Barn designs needing to be finished.  I have some leftover blocks from Krazy Kattle and Krazy Krones that I plan to make into small wall hangings.  I'm waiting on Julanne now for the next cute project to be instructed.
Kranberries
I have three projects to turn over to Kerry when I see her on Friday.  Kranberries (aka Talkin Turkey by Bonnie Hunter), Koliding Krosses (aka Earth and Sea by Cheryl Malkowski), and my Whisper Challenge project with Sunshine Quilters.  I will be sharing what's in that green bag after the June 10th reveal...

Koliding Krosses
Whisper Challenge
I have some free sewing time left this month before the next UFO is announced; think I might pick up Krackerjack (aka Star Fusion by Jana Thomas).  I haven't had opportunity to work on it since January.  I'm real anxious to see this project finish.

Enjoy all the link ups at Patchwork Times today!  Have a wonderful week.

Sunday Stash Report, October 27, 2013

I'm going to claim some yardage used today.  Krazy Krones is complete.  It took a little bit to line up the plaids.  I do think it was worth the effort.  I have a bit of hand stitching to do on the moon, star, and the warts on the witches noses which will go fast.  I was able to get all the witches finished at the retreat I attended this weekend.
Also at the retreat I worked on Krossfire.  The pieces in the front and right are the two sections that I pieced all day Friday.  It was a bit of an effort focusing on where Judy Niemeyer wanted me to stop stitching with all the fun chatting among our group going on.  I went over the optional star line more than once...ugh!  I'll be working on more of these today.  There are LOTS to be made.  Now that Krazy Krones is off the design wall Krossfire can go up.  I'll have it up for tomorrow's Design Wall posting.

Hope you have a wonderful day.

Krazy Krones under construction
And now there are four witches.  In the pizza box to be sewn up next is witch 5!

These are the three quilts that I finished binding during my vacation to the East Coast.  Krazy Kattle was my project on the plane ride.  Knautical and Kubicles were done at my parents home.  I suppose I should have kept one of them for the plane ride home...

Krazy Krones
Buggy Barns design If the Hat Fits is on my wall today.  Well only the first three blocks actually.  Witch four is a wild one!  She is sitting on top of five others all comfy in a large pizza box.  Julann who has instructed a number of Buggy Barn designs at local quilt shops shared this very clever way to store the cut pieces.

I'm hoping to get a few more of these "Krones" done this week.

My red strings are building up.  I have a few more to go before I start in on the 9-patches.

When I returned home from my vacation yesterday, a fun package had been delivered.  I was luck enough to win this very cute holiday quilt kit from 52Quilts.com for my participation in the September 2013 UFO Challenge Parade.  Hope you've got something fun going on in your sewing room.  More projects can be seen through the links today at Patchwork Times.

Sunday Stash Report, October 20, 2013

This week there is a change to both stats.  Kindergarten (Little School Girl by Lori Smith) was finished.  This is my October UFO.  I really like the way the stripes worked out in the setting triangles.  Sure is nice having the monthly project done to free me up to work on other projects.  I'm really anxious to get back to Krazy Krones (If The Hat Fits by Buggy Barn).

One purchase this week from Olde Towne Stitchery while I was in Maryland.  This fabric worked out well for Kristmas Kollage (Deck-Ade The Halls by Fat Quarter Shop).

For this week here's my stats....

Used this week:  2.25 yards
Used YTD:  305 yards
Purchased this week:  4 yards
Purchased YTD:  102.25 yards
Net Fabric Used in 2013:  202.75

Kindergarten
I brought with me the fabrics and pattern to work on my 2013 October UFO challenge.  Yesterday I cut out most of the pieces.  The stripe will be used for the setting triangles and the brown print will be the focus blocks.  The stack of pieces to the left and the right of the larger stripe pieces make the pieced block in the design.  You can see what I'm doing by way of this link it is the challenge listed as #7.
Krazy Krones
At home there are a few witches that need legs...  Thanks Mom for turning each of them.  Once back in my sewing room I plan on continuing the Buggy Barn design If the Hat Fits.

Lots of other quilters working on some great things in their sewing rooms.  Visit them at Patchwork Times.

Design Wall Monday, September 9, 2013

First let me apologize for such a full Design Wall!  I have been so busy and I have way too many things going on, but that's a good thing right?

What is in front of Wendy's project is the one that needs to be finished first.  Kandle Kounting is a Buggy Barn design called Today is your Birthday!  I'm making it for my sister...sshh...it is a surprise for her big 50th that is early October.  There are 12 cakes in three colors; black, cream, and red.  I used Buggy Barn's Angle Among Us fabric line for most of the project.  Each of these blocks get trimmed down to a consistent size and set four across and three down.  There is lettering that will go on the top and right side 6" borders.  I'm working hard against the clock to have this done by Saturday.

Then there is Wendy's project the L-Medallion quilt by Marti Michelle.  I have the setting triangles and the borders to put together yet.

Last Thursday I took a class with Joyce Weeks.  We made her pattern Survivor.  I have five done with much more to do.  I'm excited about the start.  I would love to be working on this project.  So disappointing to take a class and want to keep going with it but instead need to be working on something else.

I took a second class with Julanne Bergstrom on Saturday.  We made If the Hat Fits! by Buggy Barn.  I got one of the witches done during class, but this one too needs to be put on simmer until I can get other projects where they need to be.

Tonight to keep up with Deck-ade the Halls I will be working on the mugs.  It is the last blocks to be made before assembling the project.  There are a group of us with Sunshine Quilt Guild that have been making this project from Fat Quarters Shop through the summer.  We are planning a Show and Share at our first meeting of this new membership year on Tuesday night.
I'm real happy with all my projects even if I have a cluttered Design Wall!  Enjoy your week and hope you find a bit of time to see other quilt projects and a clearer Design Wall through the links today at Patchwork Times.

Sunday Stash Report, September 1, 2013

This comic seemed appropriate for today!

I picked this fabric up at Rosie's this week.  It will be used for the binding on Kartwheels.  I really like the design.  Kartwheels has a very busy border and along with the quilting pattern and thread I felt it needed to be a one fabric binding.  I had enough of all the fabrics to do something pieced...a little too much...although I sure was tempted.

This next fabric was also gathered from Rosie's.  Rosie sure knows how to stock the solids.  I started thinking of a purple; then changed my mind to a light gray.  I was carting both bolts around trying to decide; was sure I would go with the purple again...went to put the light gray back and started looking at a darker gray.  Well you see what I came home with!  This fabric is one of many for Konqueror that I'll be doing in a class at the San Diego Quilt Show next Thursday with Joyce Weeks called Survivor.  The project is a scrappy one, but this fabric is predominate.  The scrappy fabrics will be reproduction Morning Grays that I shared with you last week from Fat Quarters Shop.

And the purchases keep adding up with fabrics for If the Hat Fits a Buggy Barn Design for a class next Saturday.  Bits and Pieces in Poway had a nice sale this weekend; purchase two and get one free.  This was for yardage or notions.  I did a bit of both with three pieces of yardage and three FQs.  The green gray stars and the black will go for If the Hat Fits and the others, well just to my stash.

Three more purchases this week!  Whew STOP already!  A second trip to Rosie's brought me some fabrics that will be used for If the Hat Fits and Konqueror.  I also picked up a couple of small scale blacks a stash enhancement.

Country Loft was next on my Friday after Rosie's.  I will be making another Buggy Barn Design in the near future Crazy as a Bird Dog so I'm building up with more small scale prints.  I'm thinking the project will be in browns and greens.

Finally my order from Fat Quarters Shop arrived.  These fabrics are for a the Buggy Barn design Today is Your Birthday!  I'll share more about this project another time, but it will be moved through my sewing room like lightening.  It needs to get to Kerry's Quilting quick so that I can have it back by the first week of October.

For now my stash stats for the first day of September 2013...

Used this week:  13 yards
Used YTD:  271.5 yards
Purchased this week:  23 yards
Purchased YTD:  83.25 yards
