Sunday Stash Report, June 30, 2019

DH and I went to his family get-together in Carlsbad on Sunday.  I was to bring the deserts.  I also know how everyone likes deviled eggs.  There were two under ten so the cupcakes took half the confetti cake batter.  Made both my brother-in-laws and nephew very happy with the banana cream pie.  It was a great day.

I did end up at Rosie's Calico Cupboard on Saturday.  Kerry and I selected the back fabric for Sunshine's next year Opportunity Quilt.  While I was there two gift certificates were used by me for these neutral/blue batiks.  There are plans to use them later this year.  I also exhausted my supply of white perle cotton.  I have found that I really like these spool stoppers.  They fit perfect over the thread I use most frequently.

I failed to take a photo of the Opportunity Quilt when it was together, but trust me you are going to want to purchase a chance on it when the tickets are available in late August.  Kerry and I finished off the wool vines and spent time sewing on yo-yos.  Kerry will quilt it once her longarm is set back up in her new home.  It will come back to me for binding, sleeve, and label.  Jennifer has all covered with entry into the SD Quilt Show.  Connie has what she needs to get the tickets printed.  Backups are Kathy and Kathy, but I'm feeling pretty comfortable all will fall into place.

Kika
Knightley
Klover
I've been working on getting the binding and sleeve in place on these three.  Don't you love how the quilting design shows on Kika?

This week is devoted to assembling Sunshine Quilt Guild's next Opportunity Quilt.  Enjoy your week ahead =^.^=

Sunday Stash Report, June 23, 2019

These three came home with me from Kerry yesterday.  You that know me know that I'm happy as a lark to have the binding!  From the left is Knightly, Klover, and Kika.  I'm thinking a scrappy dark blue for Knightly, I have a green/tan stripe for Klover, and Kika has a red of course :)
I'm assembling my guild's 2020 opportunity quilt today and hope to get to the many yo-yos that need to be hand stitched in place during the week.

Winter-ific finished this week.  Still struggling with a cute name.  So I'll claim yardage for it!

Yes it is Thursday, June 20...  I've been working all week getting Winter-ific finished.  I wanted to show it to you done.  Tonight is the night that happened.  Finally my 2018 UFO List is complete.  This little one at 22" square needs a "K" name still.  I'm going through my list of saved up names to see what might work; unless you have an idea...
The rest of the week Sunshine Quilt Guild's 2020 Opportunity Quilt will be assembled.  I examined the layout that was at the retreat in May and believe I have it just the way it was (with a few changes).  I trimmed down the wool applique blocks and the 1/4" seams are going to be a challenge without having to remove any of the work.  I will prevail =^.^=.  Jo has offered her help and I still might reach out to her.  Forgotten about all the yo-yos that need attaching between the seams of the outside border!  A back needs to be procured yet and then Kerry will work her quilting magic.  It shows at the San Diego Quilt Show late in August when it will also have tickets offered.

DH is celebrating a birthday Saturday.  At least half of his gift has arrived.  Enjoy your week what's left of it.

Sunday Stash Report, June 16, 2019

This week has been a fulfilling one with Karol.  I thought this was a fitting name for this Little Bites Whit #03 project.  The charms are by BASICGREY for moda.  The line is called 25th and Pine.  Not sure where the two charm packs came from, but I'd say I gave them a fit appearance.  All the fabrics are from my stash, so a nice yardage used this week comes.

Several gifts and cards came my way this week.  First off on Monday morning these came to me from Ty.  Ty sits next to me at work and came across these at Home Goods over the weekend.  His wife thought him crazy picking up something so silly to give to me.  I love them, tie raps with the end of the tie extending outside the kitties mount.  Ha Ha!
Next came some goodies from the existing Sunshine Quilt Guild President Jennifer.  How thoughtful is she?  I'm anxious to try out the threader.  The candy ended up with my coworkers although they were quite tempting...
Finally came a few cards.  One celebrating Kosmo and Kassy's 2nd birthday.  It is from Chewy.com.  Just today I learned of another customer service response from this company.  I can't say enough for this old school company.  Check them out!  The other card is from Mom expressing her thanks for a wonderful visit...warms the heart to get an old fashioned note included (I'm glad the printer was out of ink!)

Hope there is time in your day to wish your Dad wherever he may be Happy Fathers Day!

Not much yet to share right now.  These are the first of the units needed to create the pattern Little Bites Whit No. 3.  The pattern is all 1 1/2" by 2 1/2" flying geese with some sashing and corner stones.  The darker part of the geese comes from two like charm packs to give me 32 pairs.  The project will finish at 22" square.  I found this pattern a couple of years ago while at a quilting retreat.

Tomorrow night is quilt guild night.  June marks the end of our membership year.  It is a pot luck and the drawing of our opportunity quilt.  I have a few things to share.  Kyanite, Kayleigh, and Kendyll along with two new to me quilts my grandmother made.

Tomorrow also marks the birth, several years different, of my brother, nephew, and sister-in-law.  June is a busy month for my family.  Happy Birthday!

Until next time =^.^=

Kayleigh

Kendyll
I have these two finished.  Definitely had a difficult time coming up with names for these two 2018 UFOs.  Then I landed on Kerry's two daughters.  One of these days Kerry will be surprised when I name one after her =^.^=!

Nothing changes my stats today, but something little is coming soon.

Kyanite is done, done!  This was one of my 2018 UFOs.  I found the perfect binding for it at 2019 Road to California.  It is a sewing inspired stripe in just the right colors.  I haven't had a Bonnie Hunter design under the needle in quite awhile.  Might be that it is time to change that soon.  I have at least one started that will be in reds.  More on this in future posts.

Until next time =^.^=

Sunday Stash Report, June 2, 2019

Just over 24 hours has passed since Mom has traveled back home.  The house is back to the quiet side without her.  We had a great three weeks together.  I always love the time we spend together.

I finished machining in place the bindings on these three recently returned projects from Kerry.  Once I finish the special binding project that isn't shareable right now it will be on to these.  I also have two other quilts that labels are ready to stitch in place.  Then there is Winter-ific that waits more embroidery.  I sure hope DH can find some good movies that we can share over the next week.
My next sewing project will be a second pet bed.  I received a very nice photo of Aliana in her "favorite bed".  Marla of Southern California Abyssinian Rescue (SCAR) made my day =^.^=
