That puppy was the most difficult block by far from what I have stitched so far.  I really thought after the manager block none could be more challenging...

So here are the blocks of Month 4.  Month 5 is on the table now.  So do you have a favorite?

Sunday Stash Report, September 26, 2021

I have finished all the blocks for Fit to Frame.  Now I wait for the border fabric to arrive from Laundry Basket Quilts.

I had three fabrics considered, a black print (on the left), a green print (on the right) and the one that was ordered.  It was easier to purchase this fabric because it is relatively new.

I decided on getting back to Vintage Christmas.  Sometime ago I had finished stitching Month 1 of this BOM that I was involved with through Stitchin Heaven.  It got pretty easy and addictive I'll admit to stitch up the next block and the next.

In no time I had the next two months stitched.  I'm really liking the doll...

Nothing to change my stats one way or another.  The Fit to Trim quilt will be my next finish assuming the yard arrives for the borders this week.  Come back tomorrow to see what more of the Vintage Christmas project I get done.  Hope your first week of Fall are good for you.

I am definitely happier with the pink and red berries for Block 2.  After correcting the fabrics of Block 2 I moved on to Block 11.

The last of twelve blocks for Fit to Frame a 2019 UFO and my only UFO to finish except those of 2021 that remain.

I have my hands on the awesome new designs from Bonnie Hunter.  Can't wait to get my needle into these two.  I ordered more Aurifil thread this week.  I really do like using it for the applique.

Finally this antique top came my way last week.  I as does the giver, Christy, hated to see it not finished.  It is entirely hand sewn, but that's where it will stop :(.  Kerry will stitch it up close to what would be used for a lone star at that time.  There are a few spots that I may try to remove or maybe not.  I plan to pick up a piece of muslin for the back.  It really is lovely and a stitched well piece.

Enjoy your week!

Finally a finish!  Kofi is done and ready for quilting.  I really like the look created in the border with the blades.  I have a bunch of blades left that might end up on the sleeve =^.^=  This project was started in January 2020; about time its done.  Now on to picking another 2021 UFO to get finished!

In the meantime stitching continues with Fit to Frame, as of yet not named.  Once Kofi was down I moved Fit to Frame over so that I could work more with block placement.  I have tried to keep the backgrounds mixed up along with the color choices in the blocks.   One thing for sure the berries in the third row down on the far right must change.  I've been preparing some darker pink and a red fabric instead.

The last to stitch is Block 11.   I next need to figure out if I was sashing or not.  Kerry used a cheddar fabric for her version.  I really want to keep this small so I'm thinking no sashing as the designer intended.  These blocks are trimmed down to finish at 6" in the quilt.  I will definitely have an outside border so we shall see after some Design Wall magic.

Block 7 is in work for Fit to Frame..  I will be using this block to share with a couple of friends the use of Avery Labels for applique.  Becky McDaniel who was a guest speaker in May brought the idea of Avery Labels versus freezer paper.  This method has been around for awhile with Google search telling me perhaps 2013.  Anyway I love it!  The sharing of process is scheduled just before the Sunshine Quilt Guild meets on Tuesday.

Here is where I am today.  I'll have to say that it has been hard to stop working on this project now that I am so close to a finish.  I started this project in April 2017.  Only one block left after this one.

Have a great week!

Sunday Stash Report, September 12, 2021

Happy Sunday!  It is half time on the first Sunday of NFL football.  Watching the Chargers and the Washington Football Team (will they ever decide on a name?) face off in a game that so far looks ALL Chargers!

My Stash Report brings in more for Vintage Christmas BOM that I believe might be its last installment from Stitchin Heaven.  I am still only sewn through Month 1...darn it.  This time it is Month #8 that includes the sashings and cornerstones.

I am putting my effort into Fit To Frame, 2019 UFO, and Kofi, 2021 UFO.  Fit To Frame needs a name for those who might have one to suggest.  Ten of the 12 blocks are done now with the latest finish of Block 10 (bottom left).  This one has to be my favorite.  I am already on to Block 7, but we'll leave more information on it for tomorrow.

Kofi's piecing is done.  I never could figure out the corners so solid black fabric will suffice and really it does look correct.  I have to sew the units together and hope that my pieced border will fit.  It shouldn't be too hard to correct if it doesn't.  I never heard from Anelie Belden the quilt's designer.  I sure hope she's okay.

The last of my sewing this week has been to make a sample and create the instructions for Sweet Apple block.  I was introduced to this block at my Mom's Quilter's By the Bay Quilt Guild meeting.  My Sunshine Quilt Guild was needing a member to pick up September BOM coordinator.  So this fit right in; easy-peasy.  It makes into such a cute wall hanging or quilt whether it be for a teacher, a friend, or yourself.

As you can see I have been pretty busy since returning from Maryland/Virginia a week ago.  It was a wonderful trip!  I had the opportunity to see all of my family in the area.  Austin has a brilliant new job.  Greyson is such a cutie!  Matt is healing well.  Karen, Scott, Tiffany, Mom and Dad are all doing well.  Puzzles, QBB Monthly meeting and a visit to the Pinkerton farm were the best.  Two dinners out to celebrate birthdays.  Oh my what a time.  Only bad part was not being able to holler BINGO on two separate nights trying (both Karen and Mom did).  I was even thrilled with all the weather which thankfully took place when we didn't have to be out in it.  Ida was in the area, but our part of the woods saw mostly wind, lightening, and thunder (on both sides of the hurricane).  I timed it right flying in and out before all the storms.  My flights were packed full of delays and people, but we will leave this discussion for another time!

Not quite ready to spin the numbers.  Getting closer to a 2019 and 2021 UFO finish that is near.

On my Design Wall once again is Fit to Frame.  This is a 2019 UFO that I am still working on.  Two blocks were finished on my vacation and that leaves three more to go.

These are the three and I think I'll work on the one with all the leaves next.  The Avery Label method made this very easy.  I used my Aurifil thread on these blocks and like the results.

I just might be able to finish this project in 2021!

Sunday Stash Report, September 5, 2021

This was the day to travel back to home.  The day started out with a 6am alarm.  Karen drove for the next 1 1/2 hours to get within range of Dulles International.  We arrived in plenty of time for an enormous breakfast at Bob Evans.  The flight had me through Denver with a short delay because our pilots hadn't arrived as expected.  This trip certainly had a lot of reasons for delay =^.^=
I was able to finish the second of Fit to Frame blocks I had brought with me on the trip.
The first finish was completed half way through my stay.
When I arrived this had arrived from Fat Quarter Shop in Buda, TX.  They had sent a 20% off discount that I took advantage of before my vacation and the coupons expiration.  Secret Stash Neutrals will work for just about any project...not to mention I have at least one in the queue to make.
