I recently ordered a portable sewing table. The SewEzi brand is said to be the best from what I have heard. It arrived Monday. I am getting ready for the quilting retreat that takes place May 17-20. The little bit of assembly that was needed was real easy. I got two inserts one for my Janome GemGold 2 and a second one for my newest machine Janome 3160. The photo shows the new machine in the table.
I also got a solid insert for making the table into a cutting station...or whatever. The purple corners are just packing materials to keep the corners from getting damaged during the shipping. Think I will keep these for when I transport. It also comes with a canvas carry bag with several pockets. I'm happy!
These are the fabrics that will make another 480 2" squares for Kandiyohi's Part 3 (Bonnie Hunter's 2017 Winter Mystery On Ringo Lake). I may need to dig deeper in my stash if this isn't enough. There are three parts that needed 480 2" squares. Once the binding is done on Kurry I will be with my pencil and ruler drawing diagonal lines.
Kurry is about halfway around right now. I want it done to share at Sunshine's May meeting. That is all for now. Have a pleasant week.

During the week and Saturday morning I put together the setting stars for next year's Sunshine Opportunity Quilt. Love how these turned out. I found them addictive!
After sharing this finish with Jennifer who coordinated the project Carolyn's work was shared with me. This is going to be an awesome quilt. There will be an opportunity to try your luck on the quilt starting in September. Its first outing will be at the San Diego Quilt Show. Come see us...
The rest of Saturday and all day Sunday I worked on cutting out all the pieces of Kandiyohi. I plan to work on this project at the quilting retreat that is coming up the middle of May. This is Bonnie Hunter's On Ringo Lake 2018 Winter Mystery. I found myself so entrenched with Kutarug that this one had to wait. Only Part 1 is complete. Part 2 is ready for me to stitch. Part 3 I just discovered is missing its 480 2" neutral squares. Darn! I thought I had finished all the cutting...

As soon as I can reveal my Sunshine Mystery project I'll have some stash to show as used. Don't want to give anything away just yet.
No change once again, unless I were to count some of the black/white fabrics that came from my stash...too little to calculate!

Another Sunshine BOM, this one passed out at April's meeting. It is called Love Notes. We were supplied the neutral and were to add a pastel floral.
Still working on Sunshine projects... The are fabrics for stars that will be used in the 2019 Sunshine Opportunity Quilt. The goal is to have the project done for the San Diego Quilt Show in late August / early September. Kerry and I will each be making 12 stars. White tips, black background, and a bright center. Other members are working on more parts.
I hope that you have a fabulous week!

I've been working on projects for the last week that I can't share. Except an opportunity basket that Memory Lane and I have put together for Sunshine Members to try their luck at winning. It's a project called Falling In Line where the pattern and a good portion of the flannel fabrics are being offered. The project is 66 x 88. The basket contains everything except the background, binding, and backing. Chris at Memory Lane says several are changing up these three pieces so best not to include them. The basket is worth about $80. If you happen to be at Memory Lane it is the project on the table taking center stage as you walk into the shop.
Kerry and I finished the top for the 2018 May/June Bi-Monthly Sunshine Opportunity on Saturday. Next up for it is the outer border, which was ordered on Saturday. Once it arrives Kerry will sew it down and then quilt. She'll be handing it off to me for the binding. I'll certainly be sharing a photo when I can.
The other project taking my time is my 2018 Sunshine Mystery quilt. We had four clues to make 12 great looking 9" blocks. Next we were to give it a setting and be ready to reveal our projects in June (or is it May?).

Kerry and I are responsible for making the bi-monthly opportunity quilt for Sunshine Quilt Guild May/June. These are the fabrics, well half of them, that we will be using. Kerry had some scraps from a quilt she made for her newest granddaughter. We took advantage of them.
Here's the design. Should be a good fundraiser for the guild! Make sure you pick up a ticket for your chance to win.

Took time from the mystery project to trim down and get the binding and sleeve on Kurry. I got this beauty back from Kerry last Tuesday. I just can't get over how beautiful it has turned out.
The solid looking purple in the first photo is the border so I selected a purple to be the binding too. I used the yellow of the back for the sleeve.
I love the Tiara block, border, and corner motifs. With the quilting in a variegated purple thread. Once I have the binding in place I will share Kurry's full view. Until then there is some stitching to do, all 297" of it!

Just one of the blocks from the mystery project that I've been stitching this week. Can't show you the design yet. The reveal isn't until June or is it May? Well whichever month it turns out to be I will be ready! This project is also one of my 12 UFOs this year.
These are some of the fabrics I'll be using. Hope I haven't shared too much...
Nothing changes my stash this week, but something is coming soon =^.^=

Right now I can't show much more than this basket full of fabrics... You see I'm working on a mystery project that Sunshine Quilt Guild has going on. This week I'll be making this project come to life. It will use all the scraps from Konsititution.
Sunday Stash Report, April 8, 2018
I am happy to have the eleventh UFO of 2017 done. Konstitution (Pam Buda's Union Blues) is ready for quilting. It's a pretty big project. I love the blues and browns. It was a challenge to make sure the sashing was placed appropriately. Now on to the twelfth UFO.
My crazy Candy Cat block is done now too. It is always a pleasure to foundation piece. It can be a bit messy, but by far not nearly as messy as string piece sewing. There are several string piece projects waiting for me in the 2018 UFO list! How do you like my wild eyed kitty?
So another stash busting week!

Lots of assembly today to share. The top six rows are sewn together. Row seven and eight are sewn but are yet to be sewn to the first six. Are you with me still? Row nine and ten are laid out and ready for their next step.
There is still a lot to assemble. There is a total of 21 rows. After all this a dark blue one piece border and Konstitution will be finished.
Other sewing this week included the April BOM for Sunshine Quilt Guild. The meeting is a week from tomorrow so I am set. I hope to find time to work on this year's guild mystery project before then. I will use some of the scraps from Konstitution. There will be more on the mystery after Konstitution completes.
Finally I'm sharing the fabrics selected for Candy Cat block that is being made to swap with several Facebook friends. The design shows crazy wild bright fabrics. What do you think? The red is for the larger parts of the cat's eyes...
Fun things being created in my sewing room!

Happy Easter Everyone!
I've been busy this week on the flying geese units that become the sashing units (SUs) for Konstitution. Above is SU 2 being assembled. I'm stitching on the second half of the flying geese.
Here is SU 3 with both sides of the flying geese attached and ready for trimming. The square at the top completes the SU.
These are SU 4 and SU 1. Kerry's warned that keeping track of placement of these SUs can be difficult. Therefore, I am taking extra attention to them as the project is being built.
Here is where Konstitution ended up on Saturday evening. It is hard to tell, but the sashing is right so far. SU 1 on the top - SU 3 on the left - SU 4 on the right - SU 2 on the bottom.
Mom sent a bunch of grays and oranges for use in Bonnie Hunter's Pumpkin Patch design. Kerry and I will both be using them. Variety is everything! These won't be added to my stash since they aren't a purchase. Thanks Mom =^.^=
I did sort of go crazy with a recent shipment of batiks to Memory Lane Quilt Shop.
These are the fabrics lined up for cutting. Yep they are all mine! A yard of each Chris...
You do know I am fooling you! Chris said she'd be more than happy to fulfill my request. If you have a need or you just want to add to your stash there are some awesome additions added this week to Memory Lane's shelves.
