Here is where I am today with Hopscotch.  I have two more corners to build before I start putting all the sashing and rows and inner border, and piano key outer border together.  Yes, I am ready to give this a finish.  My steps along the way...

Each block takes five four patches
Let me tell you about all these rail sets...URGH...  I was supposed to make a total of 80 units not sets.  Oh well, I do have enough scraps to make two more projects...LOL!
These were the blocks coming together.
These were my choices for sashing and inner border.
The first two of 18 more blocks.
Piano key dark fabrics.  There is a size problem in the instructions.  It was easy enough to correct.  The longer piece should be 6" not 6.5".  The smaller 4.5" piece gets a 2" square on top.

I hope your week goes smoothly this last days of June.  Do you have any plans for the 4th of July?  Take care =^.^=

Sunday Stash Report, June 26, 2022

Jennifer's party was so unexpected.  Provided for the Sew My Stash party was all the cut units for making any one of a number of projects.  I used the 2" units in both neutral and darks to make the 112 four patches in the project along with the rails.  I got about 40 of the 2" x 3.5" matching set of four done during the six hour party.  I took some pre-cut dark rail fabric home to match up with my stash.  What an extraordinary party!  Not sure how I will be counting my stash numbers from this project!

I did pick up the backing for the Cow project, but this was also a gift so this will not figure into my stash count either.

Cow and Houston Scraps are in the mail to Kerry.  Still need to work out the details of Hearts of Hope getting to the right place.

Got a very special thank you from Cristy's friend for gifting her my Sunshine Challenge Beetles quilt.  Skipped a heart beat reading what the friend texted to Cristy.  So nice when someone appreciates and expresses the sentiment.
There was a celebration this past week for DH's birthday.  Sushi was the fare of choice along with a great cake that Rebecca and Chris brought with them.  The sushi was terrific and the cake was excellent (even if it did get a bit bumped up from the bakery).  I managed to throw DH off; the surprise was complete.

This week I spent oodles of time working on my Hopscotch project from Jennifer's party.  Lots of sewing the rails and sorting through my 2" strips bin for remaining fabrics to complete the project.  It is looking pretty good for a finish next stash report!

Finished the Cow project.  Sunday while at the party hosted by Jennifer at Rosie's,  backs were auditioned.  The first one spotted was the cotton with cows.
Then I spotted this flannel dot.
The last one found was a light brown.
So which one do you think I picked?  I purchased 1.5 yards and used scraps from the border.

Jennifer's party was awesome!  I will share more on this with my next post.  Know that I had the most unexpected day that Jennifer's Birthday Party for herself could have had.  Hopscotch by Bonnie Hunter took center stage on my Janome!  I plan to hire her out for my Birthday Party in October...we will have to negotiate whose stash is offered =^.^=

Sunday Stash Report, June 19, 2022

Sunshine Quilt Guild met on Tuesday.  I took advantage of some things on the FREEBES table.  While making the Cow project I learned that I had little small print browns and these three browns came home with me.  The reds...all I can say is that there is never enough of them in my stash.  The yellows were depleted when making Hearts for Hope; time for refresh :)  The very cute cowboy fabric is yardage that I will use for charity quilts and it is flannel!  Not pictured is what drew me to the FREEBES table in the first place.  I saw in May at the Sunshine Retreat that many with Sew Easy tables had a cup attachment; decided I wanted one and Pam pointed out there was one at the FREEBES table...now it is mine.  Can not wait to give it a try.
This is Houston Scraps.  I had enough scraps from my trip to Houston Quilt Show in 2006 to put this together.  The original project finished in 2008 called Kaleidoscope.  While digging around for browns to make the Cow project, it hit me that this fabric was taking up a lot of space in my stash.  Well no more!.
Here is Heart of Hope ready to mind.  I will be donating this one to the Ukraine effort.  Friend was headed to Long Beach Quilt Show in August to take it to a drop off point.  Just learned that the friend will not be going so need to figure out another drop off point.  The quilting was also donated by Kerry, along with the batting and thread.  It is quilted in a heart pattern with blue and yellow variegated thread.  Love the pattern!
Finally is Krush 2 ready for binding.  I am waiting a bit before binding as my right knuckles are a bit sore.  Think this might be signs of "art"; both my grandma and mom have this issue.  It usually simmers down after a few days.

So here are my stash numbers.  Some in and some out!  Not counting the FREEBES.  Head back tomorrow to see about the Cow project.  Enjoy your week =^.^=

Sunday Stash Report, June 12, 2022

Koastline is complete and I just love it!  Trust me this photo doesn't give it the nod it deserves.  Kerry did wonders with the quilting as is always the case.  Because of the applique she really has the chance to show her talent.

I'm helping out and now I think I'm owning the making of a cow themed baby quilt.  One of my Mom's friends has a family relation who is having a baby.  The sex of the baby is not yet known, but the nursery is to be a cow theme.  Trust me it isn't easy finding a pieced cow block.  Friends helped find this pattern by Lori Holt from her Farm Girl Vintage 2 design book.  It is the Milk Cow block.  Oh another detail about the cows, they had to be brown.  So I went to my stash to help out with brown fabrics where the print wasn't too girly.

I made the two up, Mom liked, and I planned to send her the background, udder/nose, and pasture fabric so that she could continue.  Well one thing led to another and I happily agreed to go for making the project.  These cows make up quick and darn how cute are they?

These two fabrics were picked up to make cows three and four.  Pinwheels are planned in the background and pasture fabric.  Now all I need to do is find yardage for the outside borders.  He cow hide fabric you see pictured above is not nearly enough to get around this project.  It should finish somewhere around 45" square.

So this week I add to my stash the two yards above for cows three and four.

Koastline arrived Thursday from Kerry.  WOW!  The quilting is absolutely lovely.  I am working on the binding, sleeve, and label now.  The project is large so this will take me some time.

O Say...Can You Sew! Clue 3 released today from Lisa Bongean of Primitive Gatherings.  If you didn't have a chance to complete or save off the previous clues you will have to purchase them now.  I have the first two clues sewn into units having done this at the Sunshine Retreat mid-May.

I plan on sewing Week 4 of Lori Holt's Autumn Love this week.  I have the first three weeks of sewing done.  Week four is all about pieced blocks, small stars, harvest blocks, and the lettering in this project.

Tuesday is the last meeting of Sunshine Quilt Guild 2021-2022 year and with that meeting comes the drawing of the winner for the Opportunity Quilt.

This week was nothing but scraps!  This arrived during the week.  Along with two projects from Kerry.  I will share these projects in a future post...Houston Scraps.

All week I've been working on Houston Scraps.  I am not sure this is a charity project or not.  Seems a bit "older" than what we usually donate to the YMCA Becky's House.  Maybe a teen will enjoy a smaller project.  It will not be something to wrap around ones body.

I have also been working on my Mom's project that goes to a friend of hers great niece.  The Milk Cow made in white and brown, the theme for the nursery.  I am getting close on this getting to a quilter!

Hope your week ahead is wonderful =^.^=

Sunday Stash Report, June 5, 2022

The goal for this past week is complete!  This is Bonnie Hunter's Hearts of Hope.  It was a sew along that started in March.  After pulling from my strip stash as much as possible it finally got into string units during the Sunshine Quilt Retreat mid-May.  Parts 1 and 2 were done at the Retreat.  The project sat a bit while I finished up a time sensitive birthday gift...the matching bench pillow to Krush...
This pillow was quite a challenge to mail!  Tiffany loved it.  Next finishing the binding on Karre...
Then finishing up Katching Kluckers...
With these done it was back to Hearts of Hope...
More strips were cut; this time moving into my yardage.  This started Part 3.
These finished, 16 to one side and 16 to the other, left me with four yellow string units for the corner stones.  I found in my stash, think it came from Mom, a cute white with blue hearts for the third border...
Saturday I finished the project!  Goal met!  YIPPEE.  I have a dark blue to use for the back.  Not sure about binding color right now.  Bonnie suggested yellow.  Audition will come after it gets quilted.  I will let Kerry choose the thread color and quilt design.  She should have it mid-week.

So excited to change my fabric stats this week.  The finish doesn't happen to be a UFO from my list, but it is one that I wanted done to offer comfort to those suffering in Ukraine.
