If you look close starting at the bottom right is the first of many leaves to be stitched down.  I nearly got the first side of the top with leaves, but ran out of variety so...

More must be made.  The assortment of medium and dark blues used in the top are for the leaves and larger part of the flowers.  I am using the Avery label paper for this applique job.  The vine that slowly curves connecting all the leaves and flower stems will go on last.

Monday's mail brought the jumbo rick rack that I was waiting on to finish Kristmas Kollection mini.  Love all this hand sewing!  Hope your last week of 2021 is just what you want it to be...  Look out 2022 is just days away =^.^=

Sunday Stash Report, December 26, 2021

Merry Christmas!  Now it is time to relax...all the preparations for Christmas are behind.  Leftovers tonight!  Perhaps a day to enjoy your current sewing project or start a new one from a gift Santa Claus brought you.  What ever you choose have fun and above all be happy.  We have been getting lots of rain in San Diego over the last few days and the weather forecast alerts us to more the next few days.  Our plans to spend Christmas Day in Riverside went south about 30 miles from our destination.  Tim's car had to be towed home.  This time the throttle system appears to be the culprit.  This will be the second time in six month or so that MAJOR issues have come from the Volkswagen GTI.  Guess what later today has us doing?  We've checked and car dealerships are open...

I am happy to say this last Stash Report has one more project completed.  Pumpkin Trio, which does not happen to be a UFO, completed during the week.  It will make its way to quilting sometime next week.  An orange binding is planned for this project.

We received all sorts of wonderful gifts from things to make, eat, and be comfortable.  Family, friends, and neighbors are the best=^.^=

I am working these last few days and will be for the next several on Michigan's applique.  Ordinarily I would put the vines down first, but I found putting down the petals first will help me get the easy curve of the vines placed and stitched down easier.  I have half of one side "petalled".  The flowers will go down once their stems are glued in place...

Not much in the way of a total for 2021, but look at how much I used this year!  See how much further I get with Michigan's applique tomorrow in my Design Wall post=^.^=

Design Wall Monday, December 19, 2021

As you can see I was busy working on Pumpkin Trio yesterday.  It went together quickly.

Tonight I plan to finish the saw tooth border.  The pattern called for a solid black, but I found this fabric in my stash that my sister gifted me.  It's going to look perfect!  I have a good start on them.  These seven units make up one side =^.^=

I had help today from Sue getting my website up-to-date.  So if you have time check out my completed projects since October.  Hope your week isn't standing in shopping lines!

Bringing Home the Christmas Tree, blocks sized down smaller, has been tested.  It works thanks to my DH for doing the math.  The original tree block finished at 15" square and the car with the trees on top 15" x 26".  The smaller size 8" square and 8" x 14 1/2".  I am pleased to make a smaller project this way.  Making the wheels of the car were the most challenging.  This is where the smallest pieces went, measuring at only 1/2" square.  Now that I know the pattern will work there are several more to make.  This is a 2021 UFO.  I will be doing my best not to let this finish fall into 2022=^.^=

I spent much of the day on Friday with Kerry.  She is out visiting her family and celebrating the holidays for a few days.  We exchanged quilting projects.  She brought me back Kristmas Kollection Mini, 35" square.  I need time for a run to Joann's to pick up some jumbo red rick-rack.  I plan to finish it just like the full size project.

I have Pumpkin Trio to work on once I finish cutting the background.  I also have Michigan sitting on my dining room table ready for applique placement and a bit of glue to hold it in place.

My home is decorated...gifts are starting to arrive...friends and family visits are taking place.  The holiday is definitely here!

Nothing to change my stats this week.  Maybe there will be a change with Pumpkin Trio next week.

Kofi is all finished.  There is the most awesome quilting designs Kerry placed on it.  I had enough "blades" to use on part of the sleeve.  This one is a beauty!

I mentioned yesterday that more pumpkins will grace my Design Wall.  This is what I'll be working on this week.

Tomorrow there is December 2021 Sunshine Quilt Guild Meeting.  A Pot Luck evening that is always fun.  I have two projects to share Kristmas Kollection and Kofi.   Hope your week is fun =^.^=

Sunday Stash Report, December 12, 2021

Hocus Pocus is finished.  This was so much fun putting together.  At one time I had three different pumpkin projects on my design wall at once...and...heck this is Christmastime where there should be ornaments or trees or something more fitting this time of year!

Small Pumpkins
Medium Pumpkins
Large Pumpkins

The funny thing is that the next project I plan to work on is Pumpkin Trio.  The only reason this will happen is because all the scraps from Hocus Pocus will be used in this much smaller project.  More on that later =^.^=

Kofi came my way last week, finished from Kerry.  She did some awesome custom quilting.  I prepared the sleeve and the binding this morning.  Settled in with two cats on my lap and stitched away.  I will be sharing a photo of the finish tomorrow.

Certain times of the year Fat Quarter Shop offer a mystery box.  The Jolly Box arrived with all kinds of goodies inside.  Nice FQs, a cute reindeer note holder, red scissors, festive piece markers, along with a pattern and papers for making flying geese.  Not sure that I will make the suggested pattern, but everything else will get used at some point.

Today I turn the stats for Hocus Pocus finish!  Hope you have a great week.

Yesterday I worked on sewing Hocus Pocus.  This is one of my 2021 UFOs.  I finished all first steps of the 20 pumpkins and the stems.  Everything is cut for this project.  Anxious to have this one working.  I am not sure there will be a finish to any of the remaining 2021 UFOs, but there was lots of sewing this year...just not from my 2021 UFO list!  Tonight there are plans to trim off the excess and get this project on my Design Wall!

Today also came a delivery of Kofi.  Photos coming of this awesome custom quilting project done by Kerry.  She kept the blades 3D and added my favorite design of circles in the borders.  You will love this one!

Looking forward to Friday that is the annual holiday luncheon with BAE Quilters.  This year we plan to meet up at Yanni's in Poway.

Hope your week ahead are full of what you like most =^.^=

Sunday Stash Report, December 5, 2021

I have Lori Holt's Autumn Love's Basket block completely done.  Week 4 of this project consists of pieced blocks.  There are 28 4 1/2" star blocks, four 10 1/2" Harvest blocks, and the wordy AUTUMN Block that will measure 6 1/2" x 26 1/2".  I hope to get to the cutting of this one during the week.  There is a lot to this segment of the project, but it should go quick once it is cut.

I also took a short detour to sew up Sunshine Quilt Guild's November BOM coordinated by Teresa.  Teresa supplied the four colored squares that run across the diagonal.

I finished Bonnie Hunter's Rhododendron Trail Part 1.  This annual mystery that quilters around globe are so thrilled to get free from Bonnie starts on Black Friday and usually lasts through the start of the New Year.  Here's the Introductory that lists the fabrics you'll need.  I have decided to change the pinks for salmon-oranges.  Salmon-oranges will look much nicer with my décor.  It isn't too late to get started.  The scrappy project can move fabrics in your stash to the tune of 25 yards usually if you make the queen size projects that she usually designs in her mysteries.

Part 2 was finished also so now I am on schedule for Part 3 that will be released on December 12th.

Nothing changes my stash numbers this week.  I have the next 2021 UFO that will be worked on my sewing table and Michigan ready for applique placement on my dining room table.  Check me out on my Design Wall Monday post tomorrow for glimpses at these two projects.
