Top done and ready to be quilted.  Nice to have this one done.  Hallie coordinated this February 2024 BOM.  The pink scrappy binding will be perfect.  I have the perfect backing planned.

The center turned out well with the green square in a squares.  A black scrappy binding will work for this December 2022 BOM win coordinated by Tonya.  Feels good to put these wins into quilts.

Now I am on to this November 2023 BOM win coordinated by Pam.  I need one more light block to get it to a good size.  I am thinking it should read dark since there are so few in the project now.  Maybe I will make six instead turning it into a rectangle versus a square.  Perhaps this will make a good project for my guest room.

When I am not in my sewing room work progresses on woven placemats.  I will be making four so I am half way there.  It sure is making a dent in my 2 1/2" strip stash.

Hope you have a good week ahead =^.^=

Sunday Stash Report, May 26, 2024

This week can't turn the USED numbers in my stash, but as you can see this Sunshine 2024 BOM Win is ready to assemble.  This gets a pink scrappy binding.

This one too is ready to assemble.  It is the Sunshine 2022 BOM Win.  Thanks to Kerry for the excellent suggestion of the square in a square in and around the center four blocks being green rather than black like the outside.  This will get a black scrappy binding.

This is an add.  It is a Mystery called Spooky & Sweet with Fat Quarter Shop.  Clues start in June.  It isn't often that I sew project with solids.  The peek at Fat Quarter Shop pulled me in!

I have one more Sunshine BOM Win that will be worked on later today along with assembly of the first two I shared at the beginning of this post, but first meeting up with Christine for a movie.  We are seeing IF.  It should be fun and entertaining.

This is the next project to be worked.  Another 2022 UFO with Secret Stash fabrics from Laundry Basket Quilts.  I have all the fabrics, just need to start cutting.

Grandma Mae's Economy Block
Sunshine December 2022 BOM Win

Turkey Tracks
Sunshine November 2023 BOM Win

Pink Blocks
Sunshine February 2024 BOM Win

I am really not as lucky as it would appear.  These are all Sunshine BOM Wins with settings and assembly to figure out.  Turkey Tracks doesn't even require more than assembly.  I have the perfect setting fabrics for Pink Blocks and Grandma Mae's Economy Block.  I see each of these being finished real soon.  My retirement is getting ever closer.  There will be lots of fabric moving around in my sewing room. =^.^=

I nearly forgot.  A new pattern that just has to be made!  Kats of course...

Sunday Stash Report, May 19, 2024

I finished Kolonization!  This is the last Sunshine 2023-2024 Challenge and a 2022 UFO.  I started working on this in partly in January 2021.  I purchased fabric, unfortunately not enough...  Along comes Kathy and Kerry to help me out.  Nothing like quilting sisters to help with their stash.  Mostly I needed the blues and some whites.  Kerry helped out in another way to with her AccuQuilt cutting all the stripes.  Quite different my project turned out with Grunge Seeing Stars Crème where Kerry used a navy.  Both projects look awesome.  Lisa Bongean sure knows how to design great projects.

This is the second top finished.  Elf Feet table runner by Block Party Quilt Co.  The kit came home with me during the 2024 RD2CA.  It has cute red jingle bells that will go on the tips of the shoes and a red and white stripe binding.  This is not a UFO, but I did want to sew it up before becoming one.

Finally, here's Better Together by Sandy Gervais for Fat Quarter Shop's 2024 Cupid Box.  This one also not a UFO, but another that was easily assembled during last week's Sunshine Retreat.  It really is a sweet project.

I am thrilled to move my Stash numbers around today...not the purchased, but rather the used =^.^=  So all together a big number to get me out of the red for 2024.

Design Wall Monday, May 13, 2024

My biggest project to work on over the weekend is Kolonization.  I stopped at this point because I wanted to do a good job matching the bottom stripes to the top unit for the best look.  Not much more to do except for sashing after the "flags" go together.

Next up is this Valentines project without a name quite yet.  All of the units are done with only an iron and Design Wall needed along with a couple of hours assembly to complete.

Lastly this Christmas table runner project without a name yet too.  This one needs an iron along with assembly time and it too will be a finish.

The last two project are not a UFO.  Just fun sewing before they wind up on one of those lists =^.^=

Sunday Stash Report, May 12, 2024

This was the first project to finish at the Sunshine Quilting Retreat.  Started out with a couple of simple sewing projects.  This one is called Hearts for Linus from a Quiltmaker magazine many years ago.  Mom made the hearts.  Next I pulled from my stash coordinating fabrics and assembled.  Notice the cat in one of the daisy blocks second row up from the bottom.  I have had it waiting for the special project and this one happened to be just that after nearly three years of Sunshine Quilting Retreats later.
Next up was Oh Henry that is a charity project through Sunshine Quilt Guild.  I was able to get a back for it and it is ready for quilting.
Visiting two quilt shops in Temecula, I didn't come home with too much.  Zoom in and check out the cat and the fiddle =^.^=  The green and two stripes are for a future Christmas project.  I couldn't decide upon the two stripes, but fairly certain the top one will be used.  The other items are just because.

These are all the favors from my Quilting Sisters.  There are many unique, handmade, and sweet thought out items.  FQ at the bottom is what I gifted.
These 10" squares were one of the activities one could participate in using Patriotic fabrics.

Going along with our theme for this year my door prize.
Last but certainly not least.  One of the Left, Right, Center winners shared her winnings!

We had a great time as we always do.  The food was way too much, but delicious.  The weather was comfortable.  Finally, the traffic up to and back from wasn't bad.  All my project, tools, and leftover snacks have been incorporated back into the house.  Time to put my feet up and relax.

Check out my Design Wall tomorrow for all the projects I was able to get started.

Sharing with you today Kwak.  This is such a happy quilt.  Thanks to Pam for talking me through my initial idea to use orange around the ducks and binding.  I also started off thinking a fun 30s fabric for the sashing and border, but when the perfect fabric wasn't on the shelf at Rosie's...  The comical lively sashing and border fabric could have gone with orange, but purple won out.  I am very pleased with the finish.

Nothing else graces my Design Wall today as I am packed up and ready for the Sunshine Retreat this weekend.  Starting on Thursday meeting up with my quilting sisters at Between Stitches then lunch at Penfolds.  The evening will have us at Vina.  There should be lots to share after nearly four days of sewing.

Oh...we had Mexican food last night LOL =^.^=

Sunday Stash Report, May 5, 2024

Happy Cinco De Mayo from my home to yours.  Do you have plans for Mexican food?  We are having American hamburgers, French fries, and corn on the cob.  Usually we have Mexican on this day, but that's what DH wanted; since he is cooking...

His preparations allowed me an entire day to finish preparations for the Sunshine Retreat that is happening this coming weekend.  My main goal was to finish the last of the 20 complicated blocks of Kolonization before then.  Give me time to focus especially when it came to Block 16!  Wow was this one tough.  Each of these blocks get the red and white stripes making them into a flag.  I will be surrounding them with a white border.

Nothing to claim as used as well as purchased.  Kolonization will be my next big finish!  I am already thinking about what I need to have and what I want to work on at the Retreat.  It is back to that before my hamburger is ready to enjoy.
