I have begun putting the pieces together for Kakes in the Kribyard. There will be some rearranging as more blocks are stitched together. At the moment 88 blocks are planned. Next an inner border of the light purple (constant). Finishing with a braided border with the "knot" in the light purple and the "braid" dark rectangles.
The blocks finish at 3" which all come from bonus triangles. I plan to use all the fabrics Sue gifted me and then if needed move to my stash. The width of the pieces is 1 1/2". There are plenty of that size in my strip stash.
These are the three quilts I brought home with me from Kerry. From the bottom is Kolada, Konstant Konnection, and finally on top is Krosscheck. I will be working at finishing Kakes in the Kribyard then move on to binding.
March is upon us this week can you believe it? Take time with a stroll through the links at Patchwork Times. Hope you have a good week.

Kourtepointe finished! YIPPEE for me...I get to change my Stash Statistics! I'm making headway on my 2017 UFOs even if it isn't the project I should be working on =^.^=. I'm in the black!!!
I was sewing with Kerry yesterday. Well to be honest I was unstitching and trimming my February UFO that I have named Kakes in the Kribyard (must get the "Ks" in some which way). This project is a Bonnie Hunter design called Bricks in the Barnyard. Did you know that "cakes" is another name for bricks...and..."crib" is a style of barn? I'll be working on this project today.
Kastaway will need to wait a bit longer. I have picked up the monofilament thread so the platform is ready for liftoff!
Join me tomorrow to see how far I get with Kakes in the Kribyard; along with goodies I brought home quilted from Kerry's (Kolada, Konstant Konnection, and Krosscheck). I have adds to my stack of quilts to bind. Heaven...I'm in Heaven...

Did you guess that all 16 would be sewn? Next up is the sashing and border.
I am getting close to a finish with Kourtepointe =^.^=
Here is a peek at what I got back this weekend from Kerry's Quilting.
Do you remember Koncentric Konnection? I have a narrow black binding planned for this masterpiece!
There are more surprises with quilters near and far through the links at Patchwork Times this fine day. Happy Presidents Day.

I am certainly not starting off my 2017 UFO year right. I am participating with Patchwork Times this year. Besides making a list and pulling out into one tote bin each of the projects...I haven't done anything to move the two already identified along.
Kastaway is #3. This cute kitty needs some mono filament thread. I am low on my current spool. I know I will need more. Need to call the gals at Paradise Sewing to learn what type my Pfaff will like best.
#9 Kakes in the Kribyard is still in need of brick building...the pattern is called Bricks in the Barnyard!
At Sunshine Quilt Guild monthly meeting this past Tuesday, I was a luck winner of the BOM. I took home 30 plus of these 12" finished blocks. I know there are a few more blocks yet to get to me. Perhaps another five from members who participated but didn't make it to the meeting. Thinking I might make two twins from the lot. Sure is fun being a WINNER!
Have a lovely Friday.

I am thrilled to show and claim FINALLY some completions! On top is Kolada and on the bottom Kozy Korners. Batting will be cut today for both of these. Next, on Tuesday, they will be in the hands of Kerry's Quilting. But I get ahead of showing you how these two came together this past weekend.
Kozy Korners was first, as well it should be, my final 2016 UFO. I had to put this project aside for need of time and fabric for the back. Here you can see the last two borders were measured out and stitched in place.
Next I set out to use the remaining fabrics as much as possible for the back. This will be added to the back which allows for less fabric purchasing. It will run across the top although you see it running lengthwise.
DH waited patiently for me in the car in front of Beverly's after lunch on Saturday so I could pick up a matching fabric for the rest of the back. This was my only purchase this week. It is the same fabric design as the border in a different colorway of course. Mom and Dad should be happy with their new guest bedroom quilt.
Next up was Kolada. Kolada is the class project from this years Road to California. The blocks were stitched together first. That blue square in the center of the large pineapple blocks looks so out of place here...time to rectify that!
There wasn't enough of the blue for a larger border as was hoped, but an inner border was certainly in the scope of the remaining fabric. I added more of the background green to come to the size of border that looked good.
And voila! The back is more of the background green. I will likely use the same green for the binding. The remaining scraps will be pieced together for a sleeve. Kolada was made for a wall in my kitchen/nook area. I am excited to soon see it hanging there.
Changes in my fabric stash today while the Happy Dance music is playing in my ears.

Kolada is slowly coming along. I have the four units sewn into blocks now. The pineapples are finally showing themselves. This is near to the finished size. I have to get more of that blue into the project. Still thinking a narrow blue border with a tight blue binding.
Anxious to have some finishes soon. Enjoy your week!

My goodness I need time in my sewing room to catch up! I have been sewing on Kolada the past couple of evenings. It has been going well. I'm nearly done piecing the last eight units of the last two small pieced blocks. I really like the way this one is shaping up.
I wasn't able to finish my last 2016 UFO Kozy Korners...I'm at the last two borders on this project.
Then along came 2017 UFO #3 Kastaway for January...I haven't even removed it from its storage since my 2017 UFO List was compiled.
Now we have 2017 UFO #9 Kakes in the Kribyard for February...
It's Ground Hog Day so maybe we can repeat this day for a couple of weeks so that I can catch up...
