I'm busy!  Can't share, but my needle is putting the final touches on my 2022 - 2023 Sunshine Challenge project.  It will be on its way to Kerry hopefully by the end of the week.  I have a "K" name for it already picked out...wait for it=^.^=

Feeling happy, hope you can say the same :)

This is all you get to see!  I received a couple of fabrics from Mom that made it all work perfect.  Yes, this is my 2022-2023 Sunshine Quilt Guild Challenge project =^.^=

Nothing changes my stash count this week.  Getting closer to a new stash count.  Have a wonderful week.

I would love to share what I am working on, but you know challenges are lots of times a secret reveal.  Well that is the case with the Sunshine Quilt Guild 2022 - 2023 Challenge.  This is the color pallet to be used along with something black, white, or shades of them.  No other colors!

My project is coming along nicely.  I still have a long way to go =^.^=

Since I can't share anything with my sewing project...here are my two orchids enjoying a bloom time.  The larger one was a complete surprise that it decided to bloom twice and then the smaller one has not yet bloomed, but there are several surprises on their way.

I have a busy week and can't wait to get back to my sewing machine!  Hope the weather doesn't hamper your activities this week.  I have a feeling that I will be walking in the rain.

Sunday Stash Report, March 19, 2023

Well I am changing my stash numbers quite a bit lately, but not necessarily with deductions.  Of course one has to purchase to create so this week has me adding a bunch.  When I was at Rosie's two weeks ago getting more emerald greens, medium purples, and a couple of neutrals...I failed to pick up a few oranges.  Emerald Chilhowie California King Size needed more than my stash could handle.  This should be enough!

I also picked up a few other fabrics that were on a good discount to fill my declining neutral stash.  The green dot is for the back of Mom's red flower panel project.

I also picked up some fabric for the Sunshine Challenge project, but certainly I can't share them here.  I have been working on this project over the weekend and will be during the week ahead.  Tomorrow's Design Wall post might be a bit of a mystery =^.^=

So the changes this week are certainly more on the adding than the reducing =^.^=

Continuing on with the blue panel from Mom's stash.  I brought together a matching FQ that she had with two blue prints, a solid yellow, and a solid white.  This one is closer to looking more finished.  I used the bonus triangles from the flower flying geese in the quilt top to make two additional top outer borders and the two bottom corners.  Only one of the two top borders is shown, but there is a second flying geese border that will go above the white/flower flying geese in the solid yellow.  The yellow that I had so much of was also a previous project failure.  It is quite successful here.  I prepared binding and had enough for a back too.

I will be mailing the three flower panel projects out along with binding for a table runner that Mom has that needs it just as soon as I can manage the time.

Have a great week=^.^=

Sunday Stash Report, March 12, 2023

This week I worked on three panels from my Mom's stash that needed to be made up into kits for her to stitch.  I will be traveling for a visit in late April and want to get these done before hand.  Each of the three panels were similar with the same flowers but the borders around them were different.  Of course I didn't want to make the same design with each of them =^.^=

Using my stash to complete each one into a lap size worked out well.  This is the red panel.  I have had this stripe from an earlier project for a long time.  It worked out perfect.  (Mom will be doing the ironing!).  Of course this is not the final design.  An inner border of solid white and an outer border of red/white dots will finish the top.  I have a green for the binding already made.  This one will need a back.

I struggled with this one.  I didn't have enough fabric to be very creative unless you consider the borders being only on the top and right.  This was the green panel.  I found a gold in my stash that had been purchased for different project.  After the audition for the initial project was determined a failure it collected dust in my stash.  It is one that would have worked, but that time just didn't come.  Out it came from stash and into Mom's green panel project.  Perhaps some decorative stitching by the quilter will work out for the two blank spots on the right.  I had a back and enough gold for binding.

Well you can see what's going on with me.  I am working on the blue panel now.  Mom's panels meet my stash!

Today has me working on Broken Daisy placemats started in a Sunshine Workshop in January.  I have the first of two done.  The second one is under the needle having the melons and swish sewn in place.  Not sure I can make it to four, but will definitely be trying.

I still need to put Kolony up on a rack to get a complete picture of the project.  I have it all done except for the label.  I'm wise about using my expensive fabric paper, darn stuff costs a bunch.  This is one big quilt!
I am continuing to work on Emerald Chilhowie.  With the recent purchase of greens, purples, and neutrals I am back in business =^.^=  Two more done...20 more to go.

I am also working on my Sunshine Challenge project, but that is surprise you will need to wait to see!  That is it for now, have a wonderful week ahead.  Mine includes Jury Duty on Thursday...what fun.

Sunday Stash Report, March 5, 2023

I got to Rosie's on Friday just before they closed.  Probably a good thing as I was certainly ready to shop.  Before leaving home for my hair appointment at noon, I grabbed the twenty blocks already finished for the Emerald Chilhowie and the paint strip for Sunshine Quilt Guild's challenge.  Finished my hair appointment then headed down the busy I805 then I8 to the best place in town to buy fabric.  Arrived shortly after 2pm and was the last to leave before they closed up at 3pm.

I think I am set for finishing Emerald Chilhowie.  The greens and medium purples should be just right for adding to what is already made.  My design wall is ready for the next 22 blocks!  Aren't these fabrics luscious?

The white/teal dot and the teals along with my stash will get me what I hope for the challenge project.  It is due for display and judging at the May meeting.  I already have my design figured out.  Now it is time for sewing!  Of course you will not see this project as it goes together...after all it is a surprise =^.^=

There is a lot to change my stash count this week.  It will be sometime before you see another change, but rest assured my Pfaff is humming!
