Sunday Stash Report, June 16, 2024

Kouples finished this past week.  Better Together by Fat Quarter Shop 2024 Cupid Box quilt project.  I liked that this project came with the optional Finishing Kit.  Seems that I am never quick enough to order the extra fabrics before they are all sold out.

I found this "katsy" fabric for the back of Kupuna Kane.  (Kupuna Kane is a Hawaiian paternal grandfather.)  It is from a WIN at Sunshine during December 2022 coordinated by Tanya Althof.  The block is called Grandma Mae's Economy Block.  This fabric has been in my stash for a long time, but no more!

As you can see I was into kat fabrics!  This backing has been even longer in my stash.  This is the WIN at Sunshine during March 2024.  As you can see I am trying to get through both projects and stash a bit more timely.  Hallie McCoy coordinated this BOM.

Yardage used will be calculated soon, it amounts to the backs and sashing for the two projects.  I have three projects soon to make their way to Kerry.

Sunday Stash Report, May 26, 2024

This week can't turn the USED numbers in my stash, but as you can see this Sunshine 2024 BOM Win is ready to assemble.  This gets a pink scrappy binding.

This one too is ready to assemble.  It is the Sunshine 2022 BOM Win.  Thanks to Kerry for the excellent suggestion of the square in a square in and around the center four blocks being green rather than black like the outside.  This will get a black scrappy binding.

This is an add.  It is a Mystery called Spooky & Sweet with Fat Quarter Shop.  Clues start in June.  It isn't often that I sew project with solids.  The peek at Fat Quarter Shop pulled me in!

I have one more Sunshine BOM Win that will be worked on later today along with assembly of the first two I shared at the beginning of this post, but first meeting up with Christine for a movie.  We are seeing IF.  It should be fun and entertaining.

This is the next project to be worked.  Another 2022 UFO with Secret Stash fabrics from Laundry Basket Quilts.  I have all the fabrics, just need to start cutting.

Grandma Mae's Economy Block
Sunshine December 2022 BOM Win

Turkey Tracks
Sunshine November 2023 BOM Win

Pink Blocks
Sunshine February 2024 BOM Win

I am really not as lucky as it would appear.  These are all Sunshine BOM Wins with settings and assembly to figure out.  Turkey Tracks doesn't even require more than assembly.  I have the perfect setting fabrics for Pink Blocks and Grandma Mae's Economy Block.  I see each of these being finished real soon.  My retirement is getting ever closer.  There will be lots of fabric moving around in my sewing room. =^.^=

I nearly forgot.  A new pattern that just has to be made!  Kats of course...

Here is Karess.  It Takes Two from Fat Quarter Shop 2022 Cupid Box.  All but the back came in the kit.  I only have left to sew the borders in place.

I got a bit creative with the back.  I almost had enough of the solid, but to make it a bit easier for Kerry to load, about four inches was added with the scraps and a couple of hearts like in the top did the trick.  I have more scraps from the top that will be used in a creative sleeve.  Binding in red for this project is ready to apply.

I have three more kits all cut and ready for me to sew...will it be Kauldron? Scary Faces (yet to be named)? or the December 2022 BOM win?  Maybe it should be the oldest UFO...one is 2022.  Care to take a guess?

Hope you have a great week =^.^=

I felt like doing something patriotic for this Memorial Day weekend.  Kountry was stitched up quick as could be.  This is a Fat Quarter Quilt Shop project from a year or two back.  It has a dark blue to use for the binding and possible the better part of the back.  It finishes at 27" square.  I started the cutting of it at the recent retreat.  Wishing all the families with military men who gave of themselves, served and returned, or are still engaged that provide the freedoms we have as Americans.

Another project that will occupy my hands during television night is prepared for stitching.  The scarecrow block of Autumn Love.  Pieces were prepared, turned, and pressed during my recent visit to my parents.  Except for the hat, right Mom?  I used several tools in my sewing tool box until I found the right one to turn the brim.  I'm chugging along with this project.

Since I must have a project under my sewing machine needle, it is time to start cutting kits.  This is the first of five I plan to work that is called Scary Faces.  It is one from a previous Mystery Limited Edition Spooky Box from Fat Quarter Shop, just like Kountry was from  Fat Quarter Shop Mystery Limited Edition Liberty Box.  I won't be using the background suggested rather one that I have in my stash.

These are blocks I won from the December 2022 BOM coordinated by Tonya Althof.  I'm hoping she may have some of the background left to make two more blocks.  Sadly the light blue one at the top had the seam allowance cut off, making it unusable unless I add a coping to the block, but then I'll be cutting off the tips of the blue squares.  I also need one more to give me the quantity desired for the project I want to make.

This is from Suzanne's Art House once again.  She designs the cutest small projects =^.^=  I have just the perfect green for the "BOO".  You know how much I love Halloween designs.  2023 UFO

I know of a little guy who loves owls.  Well he did at one time; not sure about owls now...  Another Halloween project from the same pattern designer Suzanne's Art House.  The two designs came in the same pattern collection.  2023 UFO

I have all the fabrics for this one that I have been trying to get to for a few years now.  I want to have the quilt for this Halloween and I will be working to that end.  I have had it out several times to cut, but this time it isn't going back to collect dust for another year.  Besides there will be so much fabric left over to use on other projects!  This will be called Kauldron.  2022 UFO

The last of the bunch pulled out to work on in the coming weeks will be the sunflower wall hanging that will be called Kianti.  If you changed it back to a "c" chianti is a type of sunflower.  There are a few variations in color, but this one looks like it will work for the colors in my home.  2023 UFO

As you can see I'll be busy with these.  The cutting takes the time!  Enjoy your Memorial Day.

Sunday Stash Report, April 24, 2022

Excited to share Koastline!  I've got this one finished and very thrilled at how it has turned out.  The applique took some time, but as I mentioned...thrilled with the results!  This is a 2022 UFO.

This one is a cute little project from winning Sunshine's March BOM.  I made the two purple tulips just to round out the colors.  The stripe border is in the fabric; nothing that I put together from strings.  I decided to miter the corners.

Going to be a good change for a change!  Hope your week ahead is a good one!
