Sunday Stash Report, June 16, 2024

Kouples finished this past week.  Better Together by Fat Quarter Shop 2024 Cupid Box quilt project.  I liked that this project came with the optional Finishing Kit.  Seems that I am never quick enough to order the extra fabrics before they are all sold out.

I found this "katsy" fabric for the back of Kupuna Kane.  (Kupuna Kane is a Hawaiian paternal grandfather.)  It is from a WIN at Sunshine during December 2022 coordinated by Tanya Althof.  The block is called Grandma Mae's Economy Block.  This fabric has been in my stash for a long time, but no more!

As you can see I was into kat fabrics!  This backing has been even longer in my stash.  This is the WIN at Sunshine during March 2024.  As you can see I am trying to get through both projects and stash a bit more timely.  Hallie McCoy coordinated this BOM.

Yardage used will be calculated soon, it amounts to the backs and sashing for the two projects.  I have three projects soon to make their way to Kerry.

Sunday Stash Report, June 2, 2024

These arrived on Saturday from Kerry.  I had the units just about done during the Sunshine Retreat.  They were first to work on and get to Kerry for quilting after returning home.  They are all trimmed and ready for binding.

I thought it somewhat funny to see that each of the bindings for these three quilts are red.  These are ready for the iron and then onto the quilts they will go.

Hand sewing the binding down along with the hanging sleeve and label are first to finish.  I need this last Sunshine UFO Challenge finished for the June Meeting.

I also need to finish the BOM.  I have pulled from my stash the fabrics not provided.  Pretty much all it needs is my sewing machine and some additional cutting along with assembly.  I think the coral will make a nice flower.

As Sunshine's President reminded us, winners of BOMs are supposed to finish their projects from the blocks by the end of the membership year.  Well I'm almost there...wonder if I should just share the tops?

Nothing to claim.  Happy 4th Birthday to Greyson!

I finished Kolonization!  This is the last Sunshine 2023-2024 Challenge and a 2022 UFO.  I started working on this in partly in January 2021.  I purchased fabric, unfortunately not enough...  Along comes Kathy and Kerry to help me out.  Nothing like quilting sisters to help with their stash.  Mostly I needed the blues and some whites.  Kerry helped out in another way to with her AccuQuilt cutting all the stripes.  Quite different my project turned out with Grunge Seeing Stars Crème where Kerry used a navy.  Both projects look awesome.  Lisa Bongean sure knows how to design great projects.

This is the second top finished.  Elf Feet table runner by Block Party Quilt Co.  The kit came home with me during the 2024 RD2CA.  It has cute red jingle bells that will go on the tips of the shoes and a red and white stripe binding.  This is not a UFO, but I did want to sew it up before becoming one.

Finally, here's Better Together by Sandy Gervais for Fat Quarter Shop's 2024 Cupid Box.  This one also not a UFO, but another that was easily assembled during last week's Sunshine Retreat.  It really is a sweet project.

I am thrilled to move my Stash numbers around today...not the purchased, but rather the used =^.^=  So all together a big number to get me out of the red for 2024.

Design Wall Monday, May 13, 2024

My biggest project to work on over the weekend is Kolonization.  I stopped at this point because I wanted to do a good job matching the bottom stripes to the top unit for the best look.  Not much more to do except for sashing after the "flags" go together.

Next up is this Valentines project without a name quite yet.  All of the units are done with only an iron and Design Wall needed along with a couple of hours assembly to complete.

Lastly this Christmas table runner project without a name yet too.  This one needs an iron along with assembly time and it too will be a finish.

The last two project are not a UFO.  Just fun sewing before they wind up on one of those lists =^.^=

During the past week, on the most wet day of San Diego in forever...I picked up fabric for binding this quilt.  It is one of my UFOs.  I wanted to be prepared for yesterday's final playoff games.  I enjoy watching television as long as there is something to keep my hands busy =^.^=

The 2024 Cupid Box from Fat Quarter Quilt Shop arrived on Saturday.  Love the pattern they designed this year.  The Finishing Kit came at the same time that made me happy too.  The fabrics are very cute for this project called Better Together.  The box also contained a collapsible heart bowl, pack of assorted buttons, thread, and scissors.  A bit on the lighter side of contents this box, but I suppose they are trying to keep the price right.  Time for some cutting when the binding is done.

I also made quite a bit of progress on the March/April Seasonal Offering for Sunshine.  I am responsible for cute project to raise funds for the Guild this time.  With enough sewing time this week it should be in a good position to mail it off to Kerry for quilting.
