This past week was Road to California Quilter's Conference and Showcase at the Ontario Convention Center. More commonly referred to as "Road" or printed out as "RD2CA". This year's show was my first since 2020. Lots of changes in these past four years. I liked how the quilts were positioned in the convention center; with the main winners in the large hall. The smaller hall held the major part of the quilts and loads of exhibits. There were not as many categories for judging as before. Many favorite vendors were not in attendance, but there were several new to the event. Of course this didn't stop my shopping experience.
These first three photos shows the extent of my three days of shopping (a bit more fabric not pictured). All in all it could have been worse =^.^= I did purchase a pattern that will use up one of the half yard bundles in the second photo and will use the three FQs in project I plan to make at some point. The Aurfil thread will certainly help me use the fabric and pattern purchases.
I picked up Kerry at the Ontario Airport on Tuesday. We headed off for Preview Night and a bit of shopping that day. Wednesday was primarily a class with Heather Black, making her Pole Star project.
Kerry was a bit ahead of me finishing her pieced block first... Here I am working away with nothing quite ready to show just yet. We were set up with Brother sewing machines that were not too different than my Pfaff, just a bit of time to get to know what was what. Both of us are happy with our sewing machines so didn't jump for the Brother reduced show special.
Thursday was more shopping and a chance to see (and purchase) what we saw the first two days and had to see (or have). This day brought the shopping bags off our shoulders and dragging behind us =^.^= There is a new year pin to add to our badges. It was a great show!
The stash numbers as you can guess change a bunch this day. The chance to see such a variety of tantalizing fabrics and patterns just can't be beat at RD2CA.
