Kyushu is on my Design Wall today...still.  As I mentioned yesterday I'm all in on Koastline.  Not sure when I'll get back to Kyushu.  I am not that far away from the end!

I got started on my Sunshine January BOM.  I thought it was a simple Log Cabin design, but no.  There is a specialty ruler by Creative Grids that sounds to be useful for multiple reasons, especially the making of this block.  I've ordered it from Fat Quarter Quilt Shop.  When it comes in I will get this block done.

I have also cut out the next two blocks for Karryon.  This one will be a red car.  DH will enjoy the accent on this car.

There are two quilts (Krafter and Katcher) ready for me to hand stitch the binding, sleeve, and label in place.  Oh just too much to do that I want done NOW=^.^=

I'm very excited to have gotten caught up on all the parts of Rhododendron Trail mystery by Bonnie Hunter.  I had lots of sewing room time which is always awesome!  I had through Part 7 done by Thursday evening.  When Friday came the last part and the reveal were released.  I'm working on this part now.  The setting triangles and corners are the first units to be sewn.  There are many pieces yet to be made that I'll be working on the next few days.

Part 5 started putting previous parts together.  I really am happy with how the soft oranges and melon colors are looking.  Turns out I needed to make one more set to finish the top.

And...the reveal shows me I need to make one more.  These are the fabrics for what will be part of the outer border.

Part 6 got me very excited.  I am pretty certain at this point that I like the change from pink to orange/melon fabrics.  The garnets used are scrappy as are all the other fabrics used so far.
Part 7 put all the hour glass units together in the second block.  Fortunately I didn't have to make more hour glass units.

It will be difficult to see what's on this white on white fabric, but look real close =^.^=  Kerry gifted me this adorable neutral that will definitely get used in many projects to come.

The fabric arrived in the box with two quilts that are just perfectly quilted.  I have the sleeves and binding ready to stitch down.

Finally, meet my newest Alley Cat by Margaret Le Van.  She has a dark dress that is glittered with green.  I have a few more coming this week yet.

So nothing changes my stats this week.  I am hoping I can find something aqua in my stash for the sashing!

Merry Christmas!  Now it is time to relax...all the preparations for Christmas are behind.  Leftovers tonight!  Perhaps a day to enjoy your current sewing project or start a new one from a gift Santa Claus brought you.  What ever you choose have fun and above all be happy.  We have been getting lots of rain in San Diego over the last few days and the weather forecast alerts us to more the next few days.  Our plans to spend Christmas Day in Riverside went south about 30 miles from our destination.  Tim's car had to be towed home.  This time the throttle system appears to be the culprit.  This will be the second time in six month or so that MAJOR issues have come from the Volkswagen GTI.  Guess what later today has us doing?  We've checked and car dealerships are open...

I am happy to say this last Stash Report has one more project completed.  Pumpkin Trio, which does not happen to be a UFO, completed during the week.  It will make its way to quilting sometime next week.  An orange binding is planned for this project.

We received all sorts of wonderful gifts from things to make, eat, and be comfortable.  Family, friends, and neighbors are the best=^.^=

I am working these last few days and will be for the next several on Michigan's applique.  Ordinarily I would put the vines down first, but I found putting down the petals first will help me get the easy curve of the vines placed and stitched down easier.  I have half of one side "petalled".  The flowers will go down once their stems are glued in place...

Not much in the way of a total for 2021, but look at how much I used this year!  See how much further I get with Michigan's applique tomorrow in my Design Wall post=^.^=

As you can see I was busy working on Pumpkin Trio yesterday.  It went together quickly.

Tonight I plan to finish the saw tooth border.  The pattern called for a solid black, but I found this fabric in my stash that my sister gifted me.  It's going to look perfect!  I have a good start on them.  These seven units make up one side =^.^=

I had help today from Sue getting my website up-to-date.  So if you have time check out my completed projects since October.  Hope your week isn't standing in shopping lines!

Bringing Home the Christmas Tree, blocks sized down smaller, has been tested.  It works thanks to my DH for doing the math.  The original tree block finished at 15" square and the car with the trees on top 15" x 26".  The smaller size 8" square and 8" x 14 1/2".  I am pleased to make a smaller project this way.  Making the wheels of the car were the most challenging.  This is where the smallest pieces went, measuring at only 1/2" square.  Now that I know the pattern will work there are several more to make.  This is a 2021 UFO.  I will be doing my best not to let this finish fall into 2022=^.^=

I spent much of the day on Friday with Kerry.  She is out visiting her family and celebrating the holidays for a few days.  We exchanged quilting projects.  She brought me back Kristmas Kollection Mini, 35" square.  I need time for a run to Joann's to pick up some jumbo red rick-rack.  I plan to finish it just like the full size project.

I have Pumpkin Trio to work on once I finish cutting the background.  I also have Michigan sitting on my dining room table ready for applique placement and a bit of glue to hold it in place.

My home is decorated...gifts are starting to arrive...friends and family visits are taking place.  The holiday is definitely here!

Nothing to change my stats this week.  Maybe there will be a change with Pumpkin Trio next week.

Kofi is all finished.  There is the most awesome quilting designs Kerry placed on it.  I had enough "blades" to use on part of the sleeve.  This one is a beauty!

I mentioned yesterday that more pumpkins will grace my Design Wall.  This is what I'll be working on this week.

Tomorrow there is December 2021 Sunshine Quilt Guild Meeting.  A Pot Luck evening that is always fun.  I have two projects to share Kristmas Kollection and Kofi.   Hope your week is fun =^.^=

I finished Koyo completely.  This quilt will find its way to Virginia!  My sister is in love with it and with that knowledge it will become hers.  Koyo is one of my 2021 UFOs.

Kerry gifted me one of the monthly pincushion kits that she is receiving.  Appropriate to give me the adorable Kitty!  Thank you Kerry =^.^=

Karen gifted me a neutral fabric she came across recently.  It is a fairly substantial cut that I will certainly put to a project easily enough.  Thank you Karen =^.^=

Nothing Used this week.  I did take advantage of a sale on All Hallows Eve fabrics for three backs for as many projects that I in my queue.  Digging my self in deeper on the Purchased end.  I'm not sure this year that I will ever get out of the negative, but it has been real fun getting there.  All these new fabrics have made me quite happy.

Sunday Stash Report, April 11, 2021

Koney 2 is finished.  Just at 27" x 29" it will be perfect for the desk nook in the kitchen.  Not sure what I'll use for a binding right now.  His fuzzy little tail is just 3 1/2" round.  This tail won't get quite the attention as Greyson has been spending with his Easter quilt.

Greyson's quilt didn't get there until a day after Easter, but I suppose he doesn't really know yet what day Easter came this year.

I also finished the second Tractor quilt.  This one is made to replace the first quilt that sadly was lost in a house fire.  The little guy who is six now missed his special quilt so much that he shed many tears about it being gone.  Several wonderful folks have come together to gift him this Tractor quilt.  Thanks to the loving hearts of Mom, Dru (Primitive Gatherings), and Kerry for helping me to make this gift of love.  Kerry will have it next for quilting.  Binding next for me and soon there won't be any more tears.

When Kerry was here we discussed that I might not have enough florals to make the April Sunshine Quilt Guild BOM.  Florals just aren't that abundant in my stash.  Kerry mentioned she would send me some.  Well she sent me enough to make two and then some.  Turns out in my scraps I was able to scrape up enough for another and before long I had made four.  If I win these blocks, chances are good with four entries, a scallop border is planned.  I might add a bit of lace to the border too.

The mail brought me many fine things this week.  Fat Quarters Shop, BellaRoseQuilts, and Stitchin Heaven had these items until they were delivered to my door!

Sunday Stash Report, April 4, 2021

Happy Easter!  Here's a finish with a springtime flair :)  Kanary is all set for quilting!  I'm on track for being able to get this one to Texas for Cara's Baby Shower for Emma on April 24th.

Kerry is in town and we met up at Rosie's Calico Cupboard Quilt Shop on Friday.  I continued to drain my wallet.  I purchased a whole host of fabrics and a couple of goodies.  These two fabrics are for Kanary.  The top piece for the back and the bottom for the binding.  I didn't want a white fabric for either parts of the quilt because it is for an infant and needs to be forgiving.

Before I go into more purchases from my shopping spree with Kerry...  I treated myself to a new machine on Thursday.  The Phaff I had been using was a Professional 5.0.  I'd had it since 2015 and you know how much I sew.  It was definitely time, especially after a careless meeting of needle to point of a scissors.  This is the cremedelacreme of a quilters machine.  I need the insert to use in my Koala cabinet that is to be part of the deal along with the Professional 5.0 being a trade-in.  So for now I'm using the 5.0 and the ICON is waiting to start its time with me.

Back to my Rosie's spree...  Picked up a wide back (at 15% off) and the binding for my Kandy Katz project.  I will be putting cutting the stripe at a diagonal to keep the fun going with this project.

Friday is Rosie's special deal off FQs so these three came home with me to use in Winter Blues by Bonnie Hunter.  I'm just now starting the collection of fabrics for this project.

I need to get quite a bit more of the Secret Stash fabric collection by Laundry Basket Quilts to complete the fabric requirements for Secret Stash.  I've been adding in the neutrals to reach free shipping requirements for my online purchases.  There's two heading my way right now.  I'll be looking for a good deal on the FQ bundles of the Neutral and Warm colors.

This sweet neutral came home too.  There should be enough for a background.  My only fabric purchase enhancement that is just because :)

Earlier in the week I was excited to see a sample of this project called Hocus Pocus.  I found the kit on ETSY from Bella Rose Quilts at a great price.  I don't have it yet, but this is expected in during the week.

I should also be receiving the backing for the tractor quilt and another of the patterns that use the All Hallow's Eve fabric collection called Pumpkin Trio.  And now I'm on the hunt for more of this fabric to make Witch's Night Out another using the All Hallow's Eve collection.  Yes I do like the collection =^.^=  So all said and done I have a fairly good size to report as used in Kanary and a huge size to claim as purchased.  As you can read though...there are plans to use it all with only one frivolous purchase.

I'm away to the sewing room to make progress on my bunny project which is yet again a bit smaller than the original project for Greyson pictured above.  Koney 2 will be ready for my Easter 2022.  Hope your Easter basket is as full as mine has been this week!

I had a fabulous day with Kerry on Friday.  We shopped at Rosie's for several hours and enjoyed a lunch at the Brigantine.  She's here for visit and I'm so happy to have had part of it on Friday.
