Sunday Stash Report, February 9, 2025

The 2025 Cupid Box arrived along with the Finishing Kit last week.  I wasn't real happy with the collection of items.  The pattern is a cute one though.  It is called Flowers and Chocolates.

I got all the blocks for Krakow done by Thursday and the sashing done on Friday.  I have it on my design wall that I will share with you tomorrow.  Have a couple of completions to share too.

Design Wall Monday, January 20, 2025

 

Kerry pulled from her stash 5" squares to work the Peeps project.  We needed more yellows and more whites.  At this point a search of my 30s stash was necessary.  We may still need more from Rosie's, but we shall see once I am home tomorrow.

I have cut the Forest Friends project into blocks and will be using the Accuquilt Go to cut the sashing and borders.  Levi is due this week or by January 27th when he will be taken from Tiffany by C-Section.  She's so miserable and Levi must be pretty big by the likes of her.  I want to get this to Kerry as soon as I can.

Knockedout was quilted that I brought home with me.  I used it to pack the two Accuquilt Go templates purchase.  Very hard to see the quilting on this busy project.  There is a bunch of very fat cats in the border with black thread and a bubble pattern in the center with gray thread that you can make it out.

Before I left on Friday most of Indigo Way was sewn.  I did have a couple of oops! so it waited until my return to correct and move on in the project.  Come back to see where I stand on Wednesday Workings.  Happy sewing.

Wednesday Workings, November 6, 2024

My Twist & Treat project is complete.  I'm happy with how it looks.  I have enough fabric left to create a second project.  This second project will be a table runner using more of the border print that was in the yardage.  It is a bit different, but it will be just as cute.

My Kork project is in work too.  I started the first block at the Back in Time event, but realized that applique just wasn't in the cards during the event.  There are several of these blocks to be made.  I will be working them in while also working on my cross stitch project.

Speaking of Forest Friends...the Raccoon was completed since the last time I shared my progress.  He is joined by a few more completions.

Meet the Owl and the Skunk =^.^=  The Deer is in progress.  Five more blocks in this project that I am working to have complete sometime in January.  The baby whose name will be Levi is due in early February.

Wednesday Workings, October 30, 2024

Introducing Kendra =^.^=  Very pleased with this project.  I ordered a Lucky Charms fabric off of eBay for the back.  If you can make it out, the same fabric as the bottom right "cream" star.  Lucky Charms is the fabric used in the quilt's top.  Honestly I didn't think I could find it.  It is a 2022 Andover fabric.  I have it going directly to Kerry for her final touch.

My next projects to work on are being brought out of the bins where they've been waiting for me.  There will be some cutting going on.  Only one of the four has been started.  There will be cats and pumpkins and acorns and mice to show soon on my Sunday Stash Report.

Sunday Stash Report, September 22, 2024

Let me start with new fabrics.  11.5 yards new =^.^=  These fabrics will be for Twist and Treat.  It is the last of what I ordered and all that is required for this project.

The Transportation cross stitch project is nearly "cross stitch complete".  I am on the last block that is a fire truck.  The stripe will be the binding cut on the diagonal.  I still need the fabric to frame the blocks; thinking this blue dot from my stash might be a good choice.

Finally, FQs in flannel for the Cats in Pajamas project.  Rosie's had the $2.50 FQ day when I was there last.  Going to need to count up the FQs I have brought home to see how many (if any) that I need yet.

I finished off a patriotic top with a border for something my mom put together.  The patriotic stripe binding will finish this project off nicely.  Also cut and prepared a binding for the cow top while in Maryland.  These two fabrics come to a yard used.  

There is a big used coming once Kondensation is complete.  I have been working on the border the last few days.  Also cutting the sashing units.

So to document my fabric for this week.  Lots more came in than went out =^.^=  There will always be weeks like this!

Wednesday Workings, August 7, 2024

Getting around to this mystery by Fat Quarter Shop called Spooky and Sweet.

As you can see not far presently.  These three units start Week 1.

Weeks 2 and 3 are cut.  Ready when I am done with Week 1.  Don't you love the top fabric?  All the fabrics of this mystery are solids which intrigued me.  This is only the second project I can recall that uses only solids.  It is of course Halloween so what is not to like I ask you!

I have also ordered the novelty fabrics needed for this cute design.  It is in the current Fall issue of McCall's Quilting called Twist and Treat.  I have found that usually the fabrics are nearly impossible to locate when the magazines come out.  The Whiskers and Wine line by Northcott was just too cute not to try to find it.  Through ebay and Etsy sellers I located enough of three fabrics.  I will be replacing the white cats in the top with what you see in the black squares and placing the white zig zaggy blocks with what you see in the black squares.  I found the border and believe this is the most important part of the look.  The pattern uses a simple nine patch with a twist and turn trimming.  The challenge if there were one to be considered is the mitered outer border.  It will make a lap size quilt at 45 by 54.  

The first two fabrics have arrived and the third should be here by Saturday.  So much fun!

Also ordered more of Carol Doak's Foundation Paper.  It is hard to locate a local shop that carries this paper.  I have been getting it via Amazon for sometime now.

Did you think I had stopped cross stitching?  Think again =^.^=  The school bus is complete and the police car started.  I think that makes five more to stitch in this project called Transportation.

Last, but certainly not any less exciting is this new machine.  It is on a permanent loan from Vikki.  She had a few dyes that I plan to add to the collection.  I have to learn how to use it first.  Will start with some simple 2 1/2 inch strips for binding two Sunshine cuddle quilts for charities.
