Sunday Stash Report, January 12, 2025

I have been hand sewing binding for most of the week.  This is Konveyance.  I washed it in cold water and was very pleased the blue stamp cross stitch pattern rinsed away without a hitch.  This one is headed to Virginia and Greyson.

Kaaaary also finished.  This is from the 2024 Spooky Box.  I'll keep this one around for awhile.  Thanks again to Christy for giving this project a "K" name.

A 2024 UFO finished.  This is Kellie.  The mice are adorable and fussy cut correctly; according to the project's instruction.  I did make a second one (not pictured) using fussy cut incorrectly.  It turned out equally as cute and will likely become a gift at some point.  Kellie stays with me.

This finished quilt comes from Los Angeles by way of a friend's sister who passed away.  My friend was so gracious to think of me and my guild when she had to move her quilting projects along.  Many of these projects will be finished and provided to veterans as my friend thinks her sister would want this foremost.  The remaining projects and yet to become projects will help Sunshine Quilt Guild in providing quilts to the Ronald McDonald House.  I wish I could identify the name of this pattern.  Does anyone know?  The fabric line is All Hallow's Eve by Fig Tree/Moda.  Appreciate any wisdom you might learn.  This quilt finished 60 x 85.  Thank you my friend.

Snowman Society has a back now and will be off to Kerry's later this week.  I will need to figure out a "K" name.  This is a 2025 UFO.

Last to share is Grandma Alice's Stitchery for Austin.  This is a 2025 UFO.  I finished block 8 and the entire block 9 during my Christmas trip.  I have the last two rows in place and it's time to find a back.  I'll be taking this one with my to Kerry's in hopes of finding a back and leaving it with her for quilting.

Sunday Stash Report, January 5, 2025

Konveyance is first up for binding.  This project will go to my Great Nephew Grayson.  I want it in his hands before his brother is born later this month or the first week of February.

All of the quilts in this post arrived while I was away.  This morning I trimmed them all down and will soon be adding the binding.  I'm so excited to think about the many hours ahead for stitching the binding in place.  I know most of you don't like this part, but not me.  The two above are Kellie.  You might remember the fussy cut straight mice that was an oops on my part.  I had enough to make two.  The one on the left is on point, the correct way.  It is around an inch larger in height and width; knew it would be larger, but surprised me nonetheless to see the difference play out.  Kellie is a 2024 UFO.

Kaaaary is next up.  I love a Halloween project and this one is just too cute.  I love the quilted stitch called Trickster.  The variegated thread makes it even cuter.  This one will be ready for the coming holiday.

Last is one of the quilts that came from a friend's sister who passed away.  The binding is already made and needs only to be machine applied and hand stitched in place.  It is a big quilt and should take me sometime to stitch.  I love this line of fabrics; two of the Halloween projects I've sewn used it also.

The two blocks that needed stitchery completions were finished during my flights and a little during my visit.  I will be putting the second Grandma Alice's stitchery projects together in the coming days.  Next up find an appropriate back and get it to Kerry for quilting.  This quilt will go to Austin eventually as a keepsake from his Great Grandma.  I don't expect him to actually use it; just have it as a piece of his family.  This is a 2025 UFO.

So as always the stats go back to zero with the changing of the year.  Anxious to see how I can top the Net used in 2025 from 2024 (121 yards).

Sunday Stash Report, November 10, 2024

You may remember that I finished Twist & Treat last week.  There were lots of fabrics left after making it.  I wanted to put them to good use so this table runner was created.  Zoom in on the border if you can.  It is so darn cute.  Still working on names for these two projects.  For now the table runner will be called Twist & Treat table runner...LOL! 

This is Kellie a 2024 UFO completion.  It came from a kit called Little 4 Patch by Kellie Willey of littlequiltscreations.com.  Kellie was a speaker and presented a workshop in February 2021.

Now this is an oops project.  When I cut out Kellie I made a mistake in the orientation of the all important novelty fabric (mouse).  It was to be cut on point not straight.  These little one inch finish units were not going to be tossed...they took too much time to cut!  With extra fabric from Kellie at hand voila!  Kellie 2 completed too.

This is just one of the 20 acorns to be stitched in my Kork project also a 2024 UFO.  Somehow this one got a crooked top.  It was just driving me crazy so it was corrected.  You just know when there needs to be a fix =^.^=

As you can see that's much better.  I'm continuing to make more of these in the evenings.  I need a couple more dark browns that I just can't find in my stash.  Next week I'll find something at Rosie's.

Sunday Stash Report, November 3, 2024

This is one of two Grandma Alice's cross stitchery projects I wanted to finish.  It's done and ready for quilting.  It finishes at 55" square.  An unbleached muslin will be the back and a greyish brown to match the brown cross stitch will be the binding.  Tiffany will appreciate something from her Great Grandma Alice.  The second Grandma Alice's cross stitchery blocks will be made into something for Austin.  Ideas for a setting are right now percolating =^.^=

As mentioned on Wednesday there has been cutting of projects going on.  Starting with cats...  This project looks a bit like Halloween, but actually it is cats enjoying wine having a party =^.^=  I have yet to cut the border (top fabric on the left).  It only has two blocks using different fabric combinations.  It starts with a nine patch.  The fabric on the bottom left will be the back with more of the middle fabric being the binding.  My project will use a light grey fabric as the background.  I am anxious to get this one started.  A quicky to stitch.

Pumpkins are next...  This is from the 2024 Spooky Box.  It will go together quickly.

Then there are acorns...  This is an applique project using browns, oranges, and two cream backgrounds.  The fabric on the top right will be the backing.  I have in mind a dark brown for the binding.  This one will keep me busy in the evenings along with Forest Friends cross stitch.  It will go a bit slower than the first two.  This is a 2024 UFO that I will be calling Kork.

Last but not least are mice.  This project took the most time to prepare.  I first fussy cut all the 1 1/2 inch mice blocks in a straight set then realized (read the pattern first URGH) they were to be on point.  Between the 20 wrong and the same amount right it took be the better part of the day to cut.  This was a kit and a 2024 UFO.

So two project finished; Kendra earlier this week and Grandma Alice's for Tiffany.  There is something to add.  A back for Kendra and Garnets & Lilies.

Wednesday Workings, October 30, 2024

Introducing Kendra =^.^=  Very pleased with this project.  I ordered a Lucky Charms fabric off of eBay for the back.  If you can make it out, the same fabric as the bottom right "cream" star.  Lucky Charms is the fabric used in the quilt's top.  Honestly I didn't think I could find it.  It is a 2022 Andover fabric.  I have it going directly to Kerry for her final touch.

My next projects to work on are being brought out of the bins where they've been waiting for me.  There will be some cutting going on.  Only one of the four has been started.  There will be cats and pumpkins and acorns and mice to show soon on my Sunday Stash Report.

If you didn't send a card I probably have you covered.  I love sending cards.  They must have a cat on them of course to make them "sendable" from me =^.^=   I really looked hard for a 1st Valentine's card for Greyson, but no luck.  It was a big disappointment for me.  Perhaps if I'd been able to get to all the stores where the cat cards are in abundance it would have been there for me or should I say Greyson.

This past week I finished all three of my planned Valentine's projects.  I was very excited this could happen.  All three are in need of Kerry's Quilting touch.  Each will be ready for future Valentine's Days.

More of my online shopping arrived that allowed my third project to finish.  This is the back, background, and binding fabrics.  The pattern designer was pretty gracious with fabric requirements.  I almost have enough for a second project. 

I'm not sure how long it will take me to get back in the black.  I was good this week and only ordered one FQ bundle of solid pinks from Fat Quarter Shop.  Crazy Hearts project depleted all this particular shade of pinks.

My shopping arrivals this week included a fabric kit for Little 4 Patch.  

Kellie Willey of Little Quilt Creations was Sunshine Quilt Guild's guest speaker on Tuesday.  She was really great.  All things miniature.  The Mice Fabric Kit was too cute to pass up.  Kellie does have an online course that you might want to check out on the making of her miniature project.  I also purchased two of her "must have products for miniatures".  The first by Acorn - Easy Precision Piecing Starter Kit and Schmetz 70/10 machine sewing needles.  The needles arrived yesterday and the Acorn product is on its way from Stitchin' Heaven.

No other fabrics arrived, but they have all shipped and should be arriving this week.  I need a BIG project to help get out of the red.
