Sunday Stash Report, December 1, 2024

Kendra is complete.  I just love how it turned out.  I was sitting back admiring it and thought it could be displayed at Christmastime, but much of these greens have a shamrock print in them.  I already have several Christmas quilts so this one will wait for St. Patrick's Day.

Kristmas Kandy Kollection is complete too.  This one is definitely a Christmas quilt.  It will be displayed during the month.  Can you believe we are in to the first day of the last month of 2024?

Part 1 on both Bonnie Hunter's Winter Mysteries are finished.  Pulled reds for both Part 2s.  It was nice to dig into my 1 1/2 inch strips.  Seems I'm always adding to this drawer rather than using in a project.  I am doing my darndest to use rather than purchase =^.^=

I am expecting Kondensation back from Kerry and the 2024 Jolly Box from Fat Quarter Shop.  Thought both would arrive on Friday or Saturday, but alas that was not to be.  Gives me something to hope for tomorrow.

No purchases were made this week and the yardage for these two quilts has already been counted.  Thanksgiving is behind us and now we look forward to Christmas.  I have two events on the calendar for this week.  Do you have any events on your schedule?  Check back tomorrow for progress on the Mysteries.

Design Wall Monday, November 25, 2024

Nothing is on my Design Wall today, but Part 1 of Indigo Way is complete on my sewing cabinet.  I have fabrics ready to cut for Part 1 of Old Town, but this has yet to take place.  I will be making half the quantity of units for now on both projects.  I wish to keep them smaller than the size the pattern calls out.

Kristmas Kandy Kollection is all set for a few hours of stitching.  I just love the look of a stripe binding; especially when it is on the diagonal.  Don't get me wrong a stripe can also look great horizontal.  I have cut out a block of each of the two designs in this project with a gold background in hopes that Mom will get the enthusiasm to make one of these projects too.

Kendra is also ready for a few hours of binding.  This project will a be a bit more challenging to stitch at night since the binding is black with a small green clover.

This last project to share is a Sunshine project put together by Lorna.  It is hoped that it will be quilted and ready for a possible purchase at Summers Past Farms Craft Fair.

Sunday Stash Report, November 3, 2024

This is one of two Grandma Alice's cross stitchery projects I wanted to finish.  It's done and ready for quilting.  It finishes at 55" square.  An unbleached muslin will be the back and a greyish brown to match the brown cross stitch will be the binding.  Tiffany will appreciate something from her Great Grandma Alice.  The second Grandma Alice's cross stitchery blocks will be made into something for Austin.  Ideas for a setting are right now percolating =^.^=

As mentioned on Wednesday there has been cutting of projects going on.  Starting with cats...  This project looks a bit like Halloween, but actually it is cats enjoying wine having a party =^.^=  I have yet to cut the border (top fabric on the left).  It only has two blocks using different fabric combinations.  It starts with a nine patch.  The fabric on the bottom left will be the back with more of the middle fabric being the binding.  My project will use a light grey fabric as the background.  I am anxious to get this one started.  A quicky to stitch.

Pumpkins are next...  This is from the 2024 Spooky Box.  It will go together quickly.

Then there are acorns...  This is an applique project using browns, oranges, and two cream backgrounds.  The fabric on the top right will be the backing.  I have in mind a dark brown for the binding.  This one will keep me busy in the evenings along with Forest Friends cross stitch.  It will go a bit slower than the first two.  This is a 2024 UFO that I will be calling Kork.

Last but not least are mice.  This project took the most time to prepare.  I first fussy cut all the 1 1/2 inch mice blocks in a straight set then realized (read the pattern first URGH) they were to be on point.  Between the 20 wrong and the same amount right it took be the better part of the day to cut.  This was a kit and a 2024 UFO.

So two project finished; Kendra earlier this week and Grandma Alice's for Tiffany.  There is something to add.  A back for Kendra and Garnets & Lilies.

Wednesday Workings, October 30, 2024

Introducing Kendra =^.^=  Very pleased with this project.  I ordered a Lucky Charms fabric off of eBay for the back.  If you can make it out, the same fabric as the bottom right "cream" star.  Lucky Charms is the fabric used in the quilt's top.  Honestly I didn't think I could find it.  It is a 2022 Andover fabric.  I have it going directly to Kerry for her final touch.

My next projects to work on are being brought out of the bins where they've been waiting for me.  There will be some cutting going on.  Only one of the four has been started.  There will be cats and pumpkins and acorns and mice to show soon on my Sunday Stash Report.

Design Wall Monday, October 28, 2024

Everything on my Design Wall is Kendra.  Need to get busy now putting all the sections together.  On the far right, the long dark strip, is what will also be used for the binding.  A few hours and this project will be finished.

I also worked on the back of Kristmas Kandy Kollection.  I have yet to iron this project so don't pay too close attention to the wrinkles :)  This is the third project that will be sent to Kerry later this week to be quilted.  Nothing is going until Kendra can go too!

Sunday Stash Report, October 27, 2024

Well I went and did it again...  I have a kit add this week.  I have also ordered the backing, fortunately it hasn't arrived yet :)!

These are the fabrics that come from Connecting Thread.  The pattern is called Garnets and Lilies by Kim Kiehl.  Once again it's Pam's fault =^.^=  Well truly I like lots of the designs Pam runs across.  Many thanks my friend!

Kendra is still on my design wall and under the needle too.  These are the outside borders ready for stitching.

These are also one of the borders.  The last of the borders is a dark green that has yet to be cut.  Closer all the time!

These four blocks will be corner stones.  I just need to have the time to put all the units together.  Maybe after aqua fit tomorrow.

These 10 1/2 inch squares will be the back of Kristmas Kandy Kollection.  I worked to grab from my stash for this back.  I completed this project early in the week.

So at the end of the week some to add and some used.  I best get busy the end of the year is just two months away!

Wednesday Workings, October 23, 2024

I am working again on Kendra these last couple of days.  Only the three middle rows of sashing are sewn together in the photo.  I was working on the placement of the blocks before sewing the other rows together.  I think the distribution of greens is pretty good now.  Next up sewing these rows together.

There is a solid dark green border that goes next and a pieced border than finally another pieced border.  The entire project will finish at 53 inches square.  Time to stop for the day and make dinner.  The evening will be spent trimming up some more units and drawing diagonal lines that will be used for the two pieced borders.

Since I shared Forest Friends project last these two blocks wee finished.  Hedgehog seemed to be lots more stitching than the Bunny, but looking at the photos it wouldn't appear to be.

I am just now starting the black floss on the Raccoon.  This block will likely finish tonight over TV watching...well that depends on what DH finds to watch.

Wednesday Workings, October 16, 2024

 

Kendra is moving right along.  There are certainly many more medium greens than lights and darks.

These are the last blocks to put together.  I wanted to get all 36 done before using a different sewing machine on Friday, a sew day at Rosie's.

As you can see I did it!  The top row are all dark and the next three are on the medium side with the last four light.  These blocks represent all 18 green fabrics that came with the kit.  There is more of a couple of them for the sashing and the inner border.  The outside border uses a little bit of all of them again.  Love the setting design on this project.

This is just the start of Kendra.  This design by Kim Diehl is called Field of Greens.  I have quite a few more blocks to assemble.  I just love Kim Diehl designs and fabrics.  I have my friend Pam to blame!  There will be lots more to talk about on my next post.

Sunday Stash Report, October 13, 2024

Kondensation is done.  This design is by Bonnie Hunter called Winter Blues.  I've had it on my 2022 UFO List and FINALLY it is complete.  I'm using a back purchased at Sunshine when Fantabulous Backs visited that has a neutral background with a music score design.  Kondensation is a large project all pieces 1 1/2 inches in width.

Next up is Field of Greens by Kim Diehl.  This came as a kit from Sew Treasured purchased a couple of years ago.  I will be calling my project Kendra which means magical in Irish.  This is the first of 36 4 1/2 inch blocks.  The kit contained 18 different greens in various shades.  This is the medium shade.

Here is one of the first blocks finished.  I have a busy week ahead, but hope to make some good progress.  For now I am happy to have a big number reported as used!  Now if I can hold back later this week when I am at Rosie's from purchasing...  Enjoy your week =^.^=

Wednesday Workings, August 14, 2024

Transportation cross stitch is moving along.  This of course is a police car.  Not certain why the designer decided to put the moon in the block...

The next block is a jet.  I haven't gotten to far yet.  Binding Konfidence has taken priority.  I have identified a place to get it to that supports the Israeli peoples.  After Konfidence there are two others that await binding both of which are cuddle quilts.  All three of the last quilts are donations.

Next project to get under the needle is Field of Greens by Kim Diehl.  I purchased the book Simple Friendships II by Kim Diehl and Jo Morton May 2023 at Sew Treasured Quilt Shop in Murrieta.  At the shop was a kit for it using lots of Irish clover prints.  Needless to say it came home with me!  I cut out the units for the 36 blocks.  Each package has the units for one block.  I'll be sewing soon =^.^=

I really love it when you can use up almost every bit of a kit.  This represents all that was left of the fabrics to make the blocks.  Someone in my Mom's guild is collecting selvages so I have asked Mom to find out if she wants more.  I'll keep them around with the project so that I can recover from any oops that might come along.
