Kindly Kreatures is complete and soon to be on its way to Levi.  Three weeks has flown by since he was born.  I'm anxious for him to have this quilt in his nursery.

As mentioned on my Wednesday Workings post Krakow finished.  It too will be on its way to Kerry for her magic.  I have cut and prepared the binding which will be the teal color.  This project will be counted as used this week and checked off my 2025 UFO list.

I put the first blocks up on my design wall that is Kirilowii.  It is hard as heck to pronounce.  The name is true in that it is in the Indigofera family used to make the blue color of Indigo.  You may recall that I started this project making half the size.  Just like Krakow (Old Town) I changed my mind to make it the full size.  So again I cut units an sew more units =^.^=  Kirilowii will soon be a 2024 UFO completion.

Used this week: 18.25 yards
Used YTD: 42.5 yards

I hope you had a grand Valentine's Day.

Wednesday Workings, February 5, 2025

Today will be more of putting the units together of Krakow.  These are finished so far.  They will move over on my design wall making way for the remaining ten blocks.  I did do lots of tweaking between the units and there has been more of this already with the last ten.  Plus I am also doing a bit of squaring up of units.  I see a shot at finishing the top, perhaps this weekend.

Indigo Way is ready to climb onto my design wall next.

I may be experimenting with my Accuquilt in making bias binding.  I want the binding to go diagonal on Levi's quilt, Kindly Kreatures, that is soon to arrive from Kerry.  Meriam at Accuquilt was very helpful in leading me to a tutorial on just how this is done.  All I need is 18" WOF, the die, mat, and courage!  ROAR!

Happy Wednesday =^.^=

Knockedout is complete except for a label.  Kerry finished the quilting during my visit with her last week.  I promptly put the binding in place and sat with the kitties surrounding me while hand sewing binding and sleeve in their final place.  The binding will be a surprise to any who see it!

I did a lot of cutting to catch up on Indigo Way.  This is Part 6.

This is Part 7.  I like how bold the red is in these hour glass units.

And the last Part 8 along with the Reveal.  I have decided to make this a full size project...really because I wanted to use up some of these fabrics.  This is a 2024 UFO.  I'm totally struggling with a name for this project.

This is what I have so far, 10 out of 100, needed for Kottages.  Pattern has been copied onto the right paper for sewing the next five.  The are small units, but fun to create different 2.5 inch houses.

I packaged Forest Friends up for mailing on first thing Monday.  The back will be the same fabric as the sashing/borders.  A very fun stripe will be the binding.  There are fun designs selected for this 2025 UFO project.  It will be for Levi who just so happened to make his appearance on Friday.

All is good with Levi and Mom.  My sister will be doing the things grandmas do for the next week.  Greyson is besides himself proud to be the big brother.

I do have a fabric purchase to account for, but a finish as well.  They will offset each other a bit =^.^=

Kerry pulled from her stash 5" squares to work the Peeps project.  We needed more yellows and more whites.  At this point a search of my 30s stash was necessary.  We may still need more from Rosie's, but we shall see once I am home tomorrow.

I have cut the Forest Friends project into blocks and will be using the Accuquilt Go to cut the sashing and borders.  Levi is due this week or by January 27th when he will be taken from Tiffany by C-Section.  She's so miserable and Levi must be pretty big by the likes of her.  I want to get this to Kerry as soon as I can.

Knockedout was quilted that I brought home with me.  I used it to pack the two Accuquilt Go templates purchase.  Very hard to see the quilting on this busy project.  There is a bunch of very fat cats in the border with black thread and a bubble pattern in the center with gray thread that you can make it out.

Before I left on Friday most of Indigo Way was sewn.  I did have a couple of oops! so it waited until my return to correct and move on in the project.  Come back to see where I stand on Wednesday Workings.  Happy sewing.

Sunday Stash Report, January 19, 2025

These fabrics were decided upon for Forest Friends project.  I tried to find a sashing/border/back that was more "forest animals", but that wasn't to be.  I do like the middle fabric for this job.  The top fabric will be for the frames around the blocks and the stripe for the binding.

Being with Kerry boosted me into several purchases.  All good Kerry!  This will be for a future stamped cross stitch project.  I have one that is Zoo Animals which will work nicely.  I'm not so sure that the green wordy fabric will be used, but one never knows.

Next purchase at the shop hop Kerry and I did during my trip brought with it the backing for the Bees On The Farm project.  I thought it was just a wall hanging, but not reading the pattern further had me purchase enough for a 69 inch square project.  Later, when reading the recipe, there is a wall hanging that is of course much smaller, there was an insert in the pattern that showed what the kit it came with contained; just enough for a wall hanging.  Going to be some extra backing, all good.

I picked up this very flexible light that attaches to a sewing machine.  It can run on a chargeable battery pack.  Wow the light it puts out is incredible.  This I will take to Maryland on my next trip to get rid of the darkness that surrounds my Mom's machine when it gets dark.

Next I found a piece of flannel for my Cats in Pajamas project.  It is one of my UFOs for this year.  These PJs need to be small so I am looking for small scale fabrics.  This I think will fill the job.  I have more flannels than I need so I can pick and choose which fabric works best.

I found this Spring project that Kerry and I both liked.  We combed through our combined stash to reach the 42 5 inch squares.  We might just have enough squares; needing only the background fabric to put this one together.

I took advantage of the Quilt Show special (30% off) picking up two templates for the Accuquilt Go.  It is a new way of thinking needing to be built into my thought process when cutting shapes needed in projects.  These two will be good to add to the few I have currently.  The 2.25 is what I use all the time for binding.  The three sizes (1, 1.5, 2) gives me a good start in sizes needed for most projects I gravitate to.  We shall see how this goes =^.^=

Lastly, these Christmas ornaments are perfect for my tree and Kerry's tree.  Both of us have lots of sewing related ornaments on our trees.  Kerry won't get hers until Christmas!  The tweezers are real nice too.  I will be adding it to my hand sewing tool bag.

My trip isn't over until Tuesday so come back and see what happened the rest of my visit.

The fox was the last block to finish in the quilt project Forest Friends for Levi.  Now if I can just find an appropriate sashing/border fabric.  It must be a small scale print that goes with sage and of course the rest of the stitchery.  So far I have been looking at ETSY a manufacture called Spoonflower.  Will wait to look through others including my first Rosie's day of 2025 on the third.  Excited it is all stitched and a little bit sad.  Next up will be to finish the stitchery started by my grandmother Alice.  I will be working on this project on the plane to my parents home.

I did pick this fabric up to use in the microwave popcorn bags mom and I will be making.  I already have the popcorn fabric and instructions ready to go.  Isn't this a fun fabric of a little bit of everything?  It will be the bag liner/outside band.

Since I have nothing to stitch, this 2024 Jolly Box project was cut out.  I have the blocks ready for my trip too.  There will be plenty of time to cut the sashing and border when I get home.

Need to get myself together for a busy Monday.  Indulge yourself if you can with a few minutes in your sewing room =^.^=

Beaver done and now stitching the last block a fox.

I'm further along than this photo shows.  I have the head and much of the dark brown outlining done along with the nose and eyes.  I'll work on another photo on my Design Wall post tomorrow.

This past Friday was a Rosie's day.  Not many quilters showed up; such a busy time right before Christmas.  I needed some more aqua to accomplish Part 5 of Krakow (Old Town).  I loved the blue star fabric; thinking it would work well with Indigo Way (it didn't).  The popcorn fabric is for a project that mom and I will be working on during my visit.

Part 5 of Krakow is finished.  I found it funny that both mysteries had a square in a square being made in Part 5.  The difference is the size of the block and Krakow had a bit more cutting of 2 1/2 inch red and neutral squares.

Part 5 of Indigo Way is finished too.  You may think I'm missing some corners, but I'm following the instructions.  Some units are full square in a square, about half as many are on three corners, and then a few with just two corners.  I'm making only half the project size still.

So there is a small change in the stats this week.  Nothing can be claimed as used (regardless notice that number WOW).  This might be the stats that I end with this year.  I don't have anything going except stitchery and the two mysteries.  Maybe it's time I cut up a new project =^.^=

Wednesday Workings, December 11, 2024

I finished the snail yesterday.  The last stitches were the shell, the darker brown, round and round.  Next up is the beaver.

The darkest brown is done.  I am working on the logs now.  This is the 11th block to stitch.  Getting real close to a completion on the stitching.  I will be framing these blocks with a sage green.  I am hoping to find a small scale forest animal print for the sashing and the border.  Wish me luck on this venture!

Kondensation finished completely on Monday.  It was a mission to have the binding done before Tuesday's Sunshine Quilt Guild Monthly Meeting.  I always aspire to show my quilts completed; accept of course on this here blog =^.^=

Sunshine's meeting was a pot luck with the spirit of the holidays.  I won the door prize by sitting in a secretly selected seat at one of the nine tables.  The snowman platter and tin of peppermints was the prize.  Pam did a great job on reading a story; a game actually of left, right, or around, passing a gift to others who participated.  My take away was the handmade table runner and box of See's Candy.  I also got a special gift from Jo of the cup with goodies inside.  DH has already decided he likes the cup.

We had one of our sponsors at the meeting who brings wide backs a plenty at great prices.  I picked this piece up for Krakow, the Bonnie Hunter 2025 Winter Mystery.  I looked at other fabrics for backs needed for Indigo Way, but nothing jumped out.

Today I will be working on Grandma Alice's project that Austin will own when finished.  I have sewn the snowball blocks and will tackle the sashing next.

Hope your Wednesday is terrific =^.^=

Wednesday Workings, November 27, 2024

Part 1 of Old Town (Starowka) is finished.  Like Indigo Way only half as many units will be made.  If it is decided to make this the original size of the pattern I can always make more units =^.^=  So now I am ready for Part 2 of Old Town (Starowka) when it is released on Friday.  This also frees me up to move to Part 2 of Indigo Way.  I like these aqua to turquoise fabrics.

The deer, squirrel, and panda are finished.  The words "panda" still need a stitch or two, but the animal is done.  Next up is a snail.  The snail is the tenth of 12 blocks to stitch.  Looking like I will have this project stitched with plenty of time before Levi is born in February.

Wishing you a very fulfilling Thanksgiving.  I am off to do a bit of cooking and binding =^.^=

Wednesday Workings, November 13, 2024

I have Witchy Manor all together now.  I found a good backing in my yardage so a plus all around.  Now to come up with a clever "K" name...help!

I am continuing to work on Kork.  These all have the bottoms sewn in place.  The stem is next and then the caps.  I still have another seven to go.  Want to look for and purchase a couple of light tans on Friday when I am at Rosie's.

The deer is getting close to done.  All the rest to finish the body is the floss color 436.  The feet and eye lashes will be black.  When finished there are five more to stitch.  I think the squirrel is next.

Happy Wednesday =^.^=

Wednesday Workings, November 6, 2024

My Twist & Treat project is complete.  I'm happy with how it looks.  I have enough fabric left to create a second project.  This second project will be a table runner using more of the border print that was in the yardage.  It is a bit different, but it will be just as cute.

My Kork project is in work too.  I started the first block at the Back in Time event, but realized that applique just wasn't in the cards during the event.  There are several of these blocks to be made.  I will be working them in while also working on my cross stitch project.

Speaking of Forest Friends...the Raccoon was completed since the last time I shared my progress.  He is joined by a few more completions.

Meet the Owl and the Skunk =^.^=  The Deer is in progress.  Five more blocks in this project that I am working to have complete sometime in January.  The baby whose name will be Levi is due in early February.

More sewing projects in work today that will be shared on Sunday.  Enjoy your day!
