Working on this year's project so there is nothing to share from my Design Wall.  It is coming along nicely is all that I can share.

I have finished Kolorado.  This Row by Row project gifted to me by Marti when she was working with Ruth's Stitchery turns into a very nice table runner.  There was lots to do in this small 12" by 39" project.  Thanks Marti!

Klondike Krew is in its finishing touches.  I have all the "noses" (carrots) on each of the 16 snowman.  Next up is the 36 eyes.  These have to be the worst buttons to work with.  The carrots are cute, but the holes aren't finished well in the back.  I'm struggling with each button honestly, taking much more time than they should.  They are indeed necessary though to build some life into these snowman.

I have Corned Beef and all the right vegetables cooking in my slow cooker today for dinner later tonight.  Nine hours of cooking with the 1" sliced cabbage going in at eight hours.  It is smelling really good as I work on the snowman!  Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone.

Sunday Stash Report, March 9, 2025

I have been sewing a lot as I get through a cold picked up last Monday.  DH and I have been keeping distance so as not for him to catch it.  As you can see I am quickly moving through Carolina Crossroads.  This project is Bonnie Hunter's first mystery.  The pattern is available in her first book, Scraps & Shirttails.

I have sewn all the block units and only have about four more to get to nine patches.  The remaining parts are the setting triangles and corners.  She designed this project with two outer simple borders.  I will have to see what blues I have left to finish it off correctly.

Saturday's mail brought two projects back to me from Kerry.  Klondike Krew really needs the notions to make these happy snowmen.  I have black buttons for eyes and carrot buttons for noses.  Red binding will work well.  Binding all ready to apply.

Kolorado came at the same time.  This project was a gift years ago from Marti.  I hope she takes a look at this post and has a treat that it was finished.  It will make a lovely table runner during the holiday season.

I have been getting fabrics for the Sunshine Quilt Guild 2024-2025 Challenge.  I don't have it all quite yet, but a 3.75 yards have arrived so far.

Sunday Stash Report, January 12, 2025

I have been hand sewing binding for most of the week.  This is Konveyance.  I washed it in cold water and was very pleased the blue stamp cross stitch pattern rinsed away without a hitch.  This one is headed to Virginia and Greyson.

Kaaaary also finished.  This is from the 2024 Spooky Box.  I'll keep this one around for awhile.  Thanks again to Christy for giving this project a "K" name.

A 2024 UFO finished.  This is Kellie.  The mice are adorable and fussy cut correctly; according to the project's instruction.  I did make a second one (not pictured) using fussy cut incorrectly.  It turned out equally as cute and will likely become a gift at some point.  Kellie stays with me.

This finished quilt comes from Los Angeles by way of a friend's sister who passed away.  My friend was so gracious to think of me and my guild when she had to move her quilting projects along.  Many of these projects will be finished and provided to veterans as my friend thinks her sister would want this foremost.  The remaining projects and yet to become projects will help Sunshine Quilt Guild in providing quilts to the Ronald McDonald House.  I wish I could identify the name of this pattern.  Does anyone know?  The fabric line is All Hallow's Eve by Fig Tree/Moda.  Appreciate any wisdom you might learn.  This quilt finished 60 x 85.  Thank you my friend.

Last to share is Grandma Alice's Stitchery for Austin.  This is a 2025 UFO.  I finished block 8 and the entire block 9 during my Christmas trip.  I have the last two rows in place and it's time to find a back.  I'll be taking this one with my to Kerry's in hopes of finding a back and leaving it with her for quilting.

Design Wall Monday, January 6, 2025

Snowman Society top is complete.  The sashing and borders use the cutest of fabrics.  Look closer if you can.  Time for me to look through my stash for a back that might work.

The binding is all set for when it comes back from quilting.  

100 Houses is a 2022 UFO.  I had five of them started before this sixth one finished today.  I have four more ready to sew.  I plan to stitch up anywhere from one to five of these each time I sit at my sewing table.  They are tiny finishing at 2.5 inches before putting into a top.  Guess you will be seeing a lot of these in the coming posts.  I will always use a yellow for the windows, black for the door, and blue skies.  The house and the roof will hopefully always be different.

I have a Christmas tree to take down and decorations to store.  Be back with you on Wednesday...happy sewing.

I took Snowman Society cut units to make the 16 snowman blocks to work on while at my parent's home.  Not a lot of down time, but there usually is in the evenings after parent's retire for the night.  I stitched all 16 then realized I made a mistake that affected all 16.  Well needless to say the seam ripper came out to remove the head section from the middle section.  My error was in the scarves.  They were supposed to be different from the background...DUH!  Fortunately I had not sewn the blocks to the sashing.

Mom's projects were a few this time.  Cutting isn't something that works well with her arthritic hands.  I finished a Christmas table runner, cut out a crafty project, and cut out a Valentines charity quilt.

Design Wall Monday, December 23, 2024

The fox was the last block to finish in the quilt project Forest Friends for Levi.  Now if I can just find an appropriate sashing/border fabric.  It must be a small scale print that goes with sage and of course the rest of the stitchery.  So far I have been looking at ETSY a manufacture called Spoonflower.  Will wait to look through others including my first Rosie's day of 2025 on the third.  Excited it is all stitched and a little bit sad.  Next up will be to finish the stitchery started by my grandmother Alice.  I will be working on this project on the plane to my parents home.

I did pick this fabric up to use in the microwave popcorn bags mom and I will be making.  I already have the popcorn fabric and instructions ready to go.  Isn't this a fun fabric of a little bit of everything?  It will be the bag liner/outside band.

Since I have nothing to stitch, this 2024 Jolly Box project was cut out.  I have the blocks ready for my trip too.  There will be plenty of time to cut the sashing and border when I get home.

Need to get myself together for a busy Monday.  Indulge yourself if you can with a few minutes in your sewing room =^.^=
