Krooked Kreek Part 1 is done except taking off the dog ears and perhaps a little bit of a trim.  This is my version of Bonnie Hunter's Winter Mystery 2020 called Grassy Creek.

My friend Charmagne surprised me Friday with left over fabric from her mask making days.  She dropped them off at my porch, but I worked on Friday and was not at home.  I will certainly find something to do with these batiks.

I have ready my Sunshine Challenge #4 UFO Project.  All set for our Zoom Meeting on Tuesday.  Nothing changes my stats this week...but you do see that I am constantly working at it!  Have a wonderful week.

Sunday Stash Report, November 29, 2020

Rainbow Radiance is finished!  This is my last 2020 UFO.  Oh what a wonderful feeling...  It took a bunch of thinking as the stash was a bit thin on batik neutrals.  The final border was the tough part, LOL.  It was to be 5 1/2" wide.  No way to get this out of what I had left to use from the inner neutral border.  So I improvised of course =^.^=  I came up with the 5 1/2" by two borders one of a neutral used in the top and the rest of the measurement with the inner border fabric plus about 7" on both sides of just the top and bottom of the sashing of another neutral used in the top.  I also added in one new fabric and a six more already used fabrics for the second border because the stash was not enough of the rustic orange.  Needless to say...I am happy with the results.  The purple print batik is the backing.  This fabric is left from the first ever mystery published in Quiltmaker Magazine called Secret Garden that I hosted each month for four months.  Finally another last word on the design's use of the Omnigrip On-Point Ruler...not a fan!  Packaged up and ready to head to Kerry's Quilting on Monday.

During the week I also finished making Candy Cat blocks.  This one uses the background fabric from a birthday present sent by my Sister-in-Law Rita.  I can't show you the other two as they will become a Christmas gift.  These go into the mail Monday.

I did not take a photo, but made two more blocks for the 2021-2022 Sunshine Opportunity Quilt.  These go into the mail Monday as well.

I pulled fabrics for Bonnie Hunter's Grassy Creek Winter 2020 Mystery.  Part 1 was released on Black Friday.  Started out with gold and gray fabrics.  There will be more on this project on Design Wall Monday post.

Thrilled to have some binding to do.  One of these is my UFO #4 project with Sunshine Quilt Guild.  It needs to be completely finished before Monday next week.  I will have the binding sewn down and ready for hand stitching later today.

Design Wall Saturday, November 14, 2020

I wanted to wait until after Tuesday before I started on a new project.  Tuesday was Sunshine's November Meeting where the next project to work would be drawn for the Challenge.  #4 was drawn and for me that was to put a quilt together with the yellow and blue squares that were sewn together in pairs.  There were a lot to work with.  I only had two pairs left!  These were blocks Mom relinquished to me awhile back.  This will become a charity quilt.

This is what is on my design wall today. While pulling out the bag of yellow and blue orphans another bag of two shades of blue came out too.  As long as I was working with orphans might as well get another Mom relinquished project completed.  The 6" finished scrappy nine patch units will go on all four sides.  Another charity quilt project.

Last to share is the sample for the Sunshine BOM that I'm coordinating this month.  I was so focused on having my "act" together for the Challenge that I totally forgot to make the sample to share with membership during the Zoom meeting.  This is one of Bonnie Hunter's FREE patterns called Emery's Stars. These are the colors she suggests and I like how the pinks and purples work together.

Design Wall Monday, November 25, 2019

Are you getting ready?  My cookie cutter pilgrims are and probably Mimi's for our dinner.  No family this year at my home, but thanks to Mimi's there will be leftovers!  Besides I will be getting ready for Frolic and the very first clue on Friday.

So let me remind you of the applique units that I have been working on for Bountiful.  I prep'd all the taupe fabric units.  All are being appliqued down first.

These are the first two blocks with applique done.

The vine portion has been stitched, but the leaf units are just with glue.

The other project that I am eager to finish, one with a due date, has been pinned.  This is my Sunshine UFO Challenge #4.  I will be practicing my stitch in the ditch.  Hope you are having fun this week as you get ready for your Thanksgiving Dinner and maybe Frolic Clue #1.

Sunday Stash Report, November 24, 2019

This is Sunshine UFO Challenge #4 that is to be finished before the next meeting.  Happily I am well ahead of schedule.  I sewed with Kathy and Kathy at Kathy's home yesterday.  I headed out for my second time to the monthly 3rd Saturday Sunshine Quilt Guild Sew In.  It was in part set for getting cuddle quilts sewn.

There were gifts for attending.  Selecting something from a basket of goodies and one large piece of fabric.  The larger piece will become a back for a charity quilt that will be made in the future.  I plan to use the FQs myself :)

Moving along on the applique for Bountiful (not yet named).  This is the first of four identical applique sections.  This is it for this fabric color.  There is more to prep in the other fabrics which there are four before they can be sewn in place.  In the back are the next three sections with the first vine in place and ready for stitching.

During the week the holiday table runners were received by Mom, Karen and Rita.  All were thrilled with their early gifts.  I think Rita is already decorating!

My special order of Autumn Love templates arrive at Memory Lane.  Trying to fit my visit there to pick them up along with a new square ruler and some Pelon my Mom uses to make purses.  I don't know if that trip can fit in until Friday.  A trip to Jennifer's (or her to my place) will need to fit in next week too.  The last of the craft items arrives on Tuesday from Kerry.  The craft fair is December 7 and 8 so time is important to have them in Jennifer's hands.  Time for me to get back to my happy place in the sewing room =^.^=

Sunday Stash Report, November 17, 2019

Fall Whiskers is off to be quilted.  I still have his eyes to sew in place, but that will be quick.  Thinking on a name for this 12" x 12" project.  It is getting easier to work with wool and embroidery stitches on it.  This one is a 2019 UFO that can come off the list!

These two projects are ready completely for the Sunshine Craft table that will be 12/7 and 12/8.  There are three more yet to finish.  Arrangements will be made to get them in the hands of Jennifer.

Earlier in the week these arrived.  Sorry for the glow on the box from the flash :(  The Satin finished sheets are the finest in my opinion.  They are pricey, but for me it is worth the extra.

Mom sent me some her stash.  Apparently she's returning the greens which were from my stash originally.  Can't put a project where they were used, but Mom's memory is many times far better than mine.  The cute purse is also from her stash and her hands :)  The quality of her purses is awesome.

Kerry and I visited to three local sewing centers.  My goal was to get to Cozy and Central Sewing to redeem gift cards that were won as long ago as 2018!  I don't get out to this part of San Diego much.  At Cozy I spent more than the gift card.  The opportunity to get 30 percent off all the fabrics to make a quilt that is on my bucket list was irresistible.  I also picked up a couple of raspberry fabrics as well.  Central Sewing had tools that I could use.  I've been wanting a Teflon ironing mat for awhile now.  Just don't think to pick it up when I could do it easily.

The last stop was Memory Lane.  I'm so sorry to hear about Chris closing her doors after 14 years.  We both picked up some fabric, me the green and more raspberry fabrics.  The green and raspberry are for Frolic, Bonnie Hunter's 2019 Mystery that starts on Black Friday.  The black wordy fabric is just a stash enhancement...like I need it :)  I also called Chris back with an order.  She is still accommodating special orders at the 25 percent off price so the templates for Autumn Love were purchased.  I also got the 18 1/2 inch square and some Pelon for future projects my Mom creates.

On Tuesday Project 4 was called at the Sunshine meeting for the 2019-2020 UFO Challenge.  I am on track in finishing them and won't be derailed!  I also participated in the December BOM and have that sewn up already.  The white was provided.  Participants are to add a green and red holiday print to this fun block.  I am very pleased that the coordinators are offering smaller block sizes.  I am not excited when they finish over 9 inches.  It makes for such a large project because you want to use the entire win in one project.

So I have a little to claim as used, but more to claim as new.
