Happy Birthday Kosmo and Kassy.  Thinking back four years to day we brought them into our lives.  Kosmo the lover and Kassy the fastest by far.  Chewy sent them a birthday card and look what Mom gave them...

Kassy is enjoying the mice with the feather tails.  The springs will have Kosmo racing up and down the hall.  Don't know if you noticed by the Churu treats have been licked up as fast as I can serve them.  As a matter of fact, Amazon has already delivered the next Churu Pops.
Kosmo is checking out the second part of their gift.  Not sure these cute dishes will remain for the cats.  They are a bit too shallow for the way they eat.  More ends up on the floor than in their tummies.

Sunday Stash Report, August 19, 2018

More of the binding projects are complete.  Bonnie helped me with the three on the right.  These three are my Mom's projects.  The two on the left are Janet's projects.  I have the ones that I helped her with finished.  I will be ready for September 10th with the three quilts needed for that date.
I also have Violet Anne's quilt complete.  It really came out cute.  I'm sure her grandson will adore it.  There are a few more to bind yet that are my Mom's.  Sue helped me out with one of them that I hope to finish tonight yet.

No new projects started until all this binding gets done!  Stash report today is unchanged from last week.

I'll leave you with a photo of Kassy.  She was being very photogenic this morning.  Perched on the top of the cat tower.  Love my girl! 💞

Kandiyohi is all finished except the trimming.  Well...its time to start a finishing touch with the 9-patch border.  The units on the wall aren't sewn together yet.  This is just to get me started.

These are the units ready for sewing.  I took the time to trim them which does make it nice when everything matches up.  I will be working on this border for a bit =^.^=

Saturday Kosmo and Kassy received a package from KitNipBox!  It is full of WalK in the Woods-themed toys.  They've been having fun with the bird and certainly Kosmo loved the treats.

Hope you have a perfect week!  DH has a birthday this week...

Kandiyohi doesn't look much different than yesterday.  The bottom five rows and the sashing that separates them is sewn together.  The top half is yet to go.

I'm anxious for tomorrow's Sunshine Quilt Guild monthly meeting.  It is the last of this membership year since we don't meet in June or July.  There will be a pot luck and judging the mystery quilt challenge.  I'm so looking forward to seeing what everyone did with their projects.

There are three birthdays to recognize today.  My nephew, brother and sister-in-law all celebrate today.  I hope there are plenty more ahead for each of you.

Today Kassy and Kosmo have their one year check up.  They aren't going to like getting into their carriers =^.^=

My kitties turn 1 today!  I guess technically they are cats now, but they will always be my kitties!

Here is Kassy (short for Katastrophy).  She is quite the pistol.  She is the smallest and the quickest of the four Abyssinians we've called our babies.  The funniest antic Kassy does is a pirouette off the wall near the light switch.  You can tell by her body movements when she's about to spaz out as DH will claim.  Of course anything on a stick will get her attention.  Oh, Kassy will drop everything for a chance to catch the light of a laser pointer...she can hear the toy as we reach for it...even if we don't immediately engage the beam.

Here she is watching the birds at the feeder.  I got her attention just for a moment for this photo.

Kosmo is quite the lover.  Give him your lap and he'll gladly keep it warm for awhile.  He's our talker and the biggest of our Abyssinians by a long shot.  At first I considered that I might be feeding him too much, but that just wasn't the case.  What we find so funny about Kosmo is that he'll just decide to sprawl out on his side anywhere at the oddest of times.  Plastic springs can entertain him for quite awhile.  He's been known to retrieve them for you to toss again and again and again.  DH says his biggest volley was 11 times.  He is a bit selfish with his stuffed toys, especially the yellow bird and the squirrel, and the skunk, and the green worm.

Here he is rooting out the treats I hide for him on the cat tower every morning.

So Happy Birthday to my kitties!  The next bag of kibble will be for Cats 1 year and older :)  But let's first get into the Gerber Lil' Sticks =^.^=

When your baby needs your attention...Kutarug can wait!  I was working on trimming up the red hour glass units until Kosmo just wouldn't take "in a minute" to bear.  He is my love bug for sure.  Kassy was sitting in the seat next to us in case you thought she wasn't include in the love fest.  =^.^=

Sunday Stash Report, February 11, 2018

This past week has been all about making more hour glass units.  I started with green.  This should be enough to get me through a couple of rows!

Can you believe all of this (except for the black) was needed to make the finished greens first shown?  Wait until this projects piece count is calculated!

Next up was orange.  There were a few more HSTs made to end up with this batch of orange.

These will go fast!

Black next...

Today I have been working on purple.

I am still working on purple!

I leave you with Kassy enjoying a gift from Grandma =^.^=

Nothing changed stats this week.  On to the week ahead and a few more rows finished on the monster that is also known as Kutarug!

I don't recall sharing the cute Piano Cat Scratching Post that I purchased while at the Cat Show a couple of weeks ago.  It is nearly 3' tall.  For Kosmo and Kassy with their long bodies it is just perfect for them to get a real good stretch on.

Karduus was finished not long ago.  It was one of my twelve 2016 UFOs.  I plan to share it on Tuesday with my Sunshine Quilt Guild Sisters.  Check out the beautiful quilting Kerry accomplished.

I don't have the best camera for quilting closeups.  Kerry has lately been providing the stitch count; this one at 70" x 89" is 243,288.  Now that is a bunch of quilting stitches!

If you are interested in seeing more of my finished projects check out my website www.kwiltnkats.com.

Sunday Stash Report, January 28, 2018

This weekend was set aside for the CFA Food & Water Bowl XXVI at the Del Mar Fair Grounds.  Kosmo and Kassy's first cat show.  They were both entered in the Kitten Category which is for kittens 4-7 months old.  For most of the kittens in this category their first show.  There were six abyssinians entered; four rudy colored, two of each sex along with two fawns both female.  The two rudys not mine were seasoned pros, the female especially.  Astech's Tesuque after this show placed 5th Best Cat Nationally.  Here is what the San Diego Union Tribune wrote about the show.

Abyko's Dar Chos #33, Weslyn Kwiltnkats Kosmo #34, Weslyn Kwiltnkats Katastrophy #35 and Astech's Tesuque #36 made up the rudy abyssinians entered in the Kitten Category.

Kassy's Ribbons
Kosmo and Katastrophy made their Mom happy!  Enjoy some of the pictures from the show.

The Southern California Abyssinian Rescue had a both there too in hopes of adoptions.  I am not sure, but I think at least one found a new home.
This last one sums up the weekend long show!  Thanks to my friend Kathy for helping me through the weekend and taking the show photos.  Kathy has asked to be Kosmo's God Mother =^.^=

Sunday Stash Report, January 7, 2018

Nothing to report this week.  I'm plugging away at my scraps for Kutarug.  This is going to be one big USED once Kutarug is finished!

I'm still making hour glass and HST units.  Right now I'm adding black, green, and blue hour glass units.  Sewing is the easy part...trimming is the time consuming part.

Sunday Stash Report, December 24, 2017

Let me start with a photo of a Christmas gift from my Sister's family.  A kitty play that Kosmo and Kassy have been enjoying since getting back home.
It is just like one that you could find for a child.  They have already managed to remove two of the four grommets used to fold it up when not in use.  I can't wait until this teething stage ends.
Kutarug is still in production.  All the pinwheel blocks were used and yet another batch is in assembly.  All colors are needed!
Green, red, and black on the left are done.  Purple, more green, blue, and orange ready for trimming on the right.

All caught up on hand stitching with Kilimanjaro and Kountry Kollection.  Kilimanjaro was finished on the flight to Maryland and Kountry Kollection was finished on the way back to San Diego.  Kerry - ready for the next one =^.^=

Kapture
26" x 30"
Kapture is complete.  It is a pattern by Pam Buda called Four Around Nine.

Another KitNipBox arrived on Saturday.  The theme this time was Sweet Shop.  The tethered toy has a jingle to it that drives Kassy crazy.  The Sour Apple Candy has also become a favorite.  Not sure about the Moustache and frankly neither are the cats.  The Laser Mouse has them very busy running around the house.

Had to share with you a glimpse of grocery day after the bags are emptied.  Doesn't she look comfortable?  It wasn't long after this photo was taken before Kosmo came along and all photos after were nothing but a blur.

I'm continuing progress on Kutarug.  Making more hour glass units for the pinwheel blocks.  At the top of the photo are more HSTs too.  Between all the chores today two more rows were assembled.  Tomorrow I plan to sew more rows together to the main unit.  Nothing to record a change to my stash this week.
