My front doors have been adorned with creations from my sister, Karen.  Today is her birthday by the way.  I sang the birthday song...someone needs to do it :)  If you happen upon her make sure you wish her a happy day.

So this is the awesome birthday dinner enjoyed on Monday.  Loved every raw morsel!  The roll at the top left are called X-Girlfriend.  These are made without rice and are so velvety in the mouth.  The right top green roll is called Wonder Woman.  Then there is our usual salmon skin handrolls and the third roll is one of our favorites made with a crispy softshell crab.  At the top is a sashimi salad.  The birthday wine glass had to make it's appearance along with a good white wine.  Excellent dinner =^.^=

I had time to make Cat Candy Block #28.  This is a Halloween Cat.  Sort of went around and around trying to figure out if it's ears should be a polka dot or a stripe.  Either looked good with an orange polka dot or purple body.  Well you see the result.

I've been struggling with this block.  The block was just too blendy.  So I changed the eyes.  I think it helps.  What do you think?  Do I move it to the back?

Design Wall Monday, October 5, 2020

I woke up to this special birthday wish :)  A hand made card by DH.  I also got a nice surprise in my inbox!  Lorna's was the call for dinner, but turns out they are closed on Mondays...sushi instead!  Okay with me...

Last week on Wednesday I received this suspicious package from the United Kingdom with no note, but knowing it was my birthday coming I suspected a gift.  Friday I learned it was from my Mom.  A nice collection of 10" wools that I might use in the future.  Mom and Dad also gave me a surprise in my inbox!  I'm told there is another package coming to be on the look out for it.

On Friday I received a package from Kerry that included three quilts I knew about and a special little gift.  I had picked this pattern out at RD2CA earlier this year.  Kerry also gave me a surprise in my inbox!

Saturday brought me another package from Karen.  A nice top and two packages of socks.  I love getting socks!  Can you see the cats?  She also sent one of her hand made cards.

Thank you everyone who called, texted, and emailed...not to mention FB posts.  It sure means a lot to me that you are thinking of me.

Now on to my Design Wall...nothing but Candy Cats =^.^= to share...  

I started off with sets of fabrics ready to make the last five.

With these two done I have only three to make yet.

I have decided to remake the white and black kitty.  His eyes are just lost.  Hopefully this will work...stay tuned!

Sunday Stash Report, October 4, 2020

I was first thinking to call this project Koolish, but because it was a mystery kalpana meaning imagine seemed more appropriate.  I will be using Koolish at some point rest assured.  So Kalpana it is =^.^=  On Friday the mail brought me from Kerry's Quilting three projects.  Kalpana is one of them.

This one is Kropper.  Again there was a suggestion to call it Kondiments because of its colors, but I wanted to retain the designers image of her husband farmer and his tractor along with her hobby of quilting.

Kandles is the third that arrived.  This one has some very special quilt designs; I think four different ones.  I asked Kerry to make it like the designer had quilted her project and Kerry did just that.  This is will be a gift for Bonnie.

I have been working steady on Cat Candy blocks until yesterday.  This one came from Sue.  She decided to gift it to me.  Sue calls it her "White Walker".  Come back tomorrow and check out progress on the last five blocks to be made.

I have all the blocks done for Kaitlyn's baby quilt.  I will be moving Candy Cat from my design wall to assemble it.  This project is composed of two block units.  There are 40 of each unit.  I have plans to add a little girly touch...  Kaitlyn and David have decided on a name for their bundle of joy coming in November.  She will be Irelyn Marie.

To close this post off...another installment has arrived for Beware It's Halloween!  This month Midway Wool sent spiders with their webs.  There are four to be made.
