Sunday Stash Report, October 11, 2020

These are the thiry cat blocks made for my Candy Cat project.  Although I worked at the black and white kitty with the Mickey Mouse background he just isn't working.  I really want the black and white kitty AND I really want the Mickey Mouse background...just can't use the two fabrics in the same block.  Might have to make two more blocks using each fabric and introduce two new fabrics.  The two that don't get used on the front will make their way to the back.  As much fuss as this block has been golly!  One reader thought to call it "camo cat".  I think this would make a cute name for my project Kamo Kat =^.^=  

I've taken this project off the wall for now.  Irelyn's quilt is there now.  Anxious to get this baby quilt into the hands of Kerry, back to me for finishing touches and in the mail before she's born in November.

My weekend was spent binding.  Kalpana (39" x 39") was first to finish.  I used left out blocks in the sleeve.  Kerry put a very pretty design on it with silver/grayish thread.

Kandles (27" x 33") was second.  I'm sharing the awesome quilting Kerry did on this one.  The candles just glow!  Bonnie will get this as a gift for Christmas.

Kropper (41" x 49") finished this morning.  I had some left over units to put in the sleeve for this project too.  By far this was a real doozy to find a name.

So another week goes by without a finish.  My attention will be to get something done this week!  No changes, but I do have one coming to both USED and PURCHASED =^.^=

Sunday Stash Report, October 4, 2020

I was first thinking to call this project Koolish, but because it was a mystery kalpana meaning imagine seemed more appropriate.  I will be using Koolish at some point rest assured.  So Kalpana it is =^.^=  On Friday the mail brought me from Kerry's Quilting three projects.  Kalpana is one of them.

This one is Kropper.  Again there was a suggestion to call it Kondiments because of its colors, but I wanted to retain the designers image of her husband farmer and his tractor along with her hobby of quilting.

Kandles is the third that arrived.  This one has some very special quilt designs; I think four different ones.  I asked Kerry to make it like the designer had quilted her project and Kerry did just that.  This is will be a gift for Bonnie.

I have been working steady on Cat Candy blocks until yesterday.  This one came from Sue.  She decided to gift it to me.  Sue calls it her "White Walker".  Come back tomorrow and check out progress on the last five blocks to be made.

I have all the blocks done for Kaitlyn's baby quilt.  I will be moving Candy Cat from my design wall to assemble it.  This project is composed of two block units.  There are 40 of each unit.  I have plans to add a little girly touch...  Kaitlyn and David have decided on a name for their bundle of joy coming in November.  She will be Irelyn Marie.

To close this post off...another installment has arrived for Beware It's Halloween!  This month Midway Wool sent spiders with their webs.  There are four to be made.

Sunday Stash Report, June 21, 2020

Kandles is ready for quilting!  This is a 2020 UFO that I'll be gifting to my friend Bonnie.  When I first saw this design Yule Glow by Diane Harris in the McCall's Quilting Nov/Dec 2019 I knew I wanted to make it for Bonnie.  The pieces were cut out sometime ago which made the making of it quick.

I started transferring the pieces to my design wall last Wednesday.  As you can make out it is mostly HSTs.  I used my cell phone to photograph the unit placement to my sewing table which was very helpful to keep track of all the HST placement.  There is a particularly appealing quilting design that is shown with the pattern that Kerry will stitch out in this 27 by 33 inch project.  Excited to have this UFO done!

Keeping the UFO projects going...Wooly Nutcracker is ready for a start.  This is also a 2020 UFO.  I'm using all fabrics from my stash so there is a change to the background and setting pieces (everything not nutcracker).  The fabrics will be cottons and not wool.  My sister Karen gifted me awhile back the gray on the top right that will be directly behind the nutcracker.

Since I haven't finished the 2019 UFOs yet :(...  Back In Time is also to be started.  It is a small project on 16 by 18 inches.  Another modification to the applique for this one too.  I will use cotton for the vines and leaves since there is no green wool in my stash.
