While I visited my parents the opportunity to attend one of the Quilters by the Bay monthly meetings was held.  Of course I attended and to my luck won the BOM.  I am playing around with the layout right now.  I have some scraps from a long ago project I helped my Mom with so what do you think about using them?  The pattern is called Trick or Treat by Diane Harris.

There were two identical blocks and two that just didn't work well for the more Halloween project I was looking to make.  The three on the bottom will make it to another project somewhere down the road; perhaps Christmas themed.
So I made these two new ones.  The first pulls in the more "tan" background and the purple candy. The second pulls in the green background with the purple candy.  I am pleased with the blocks, but now what about the sashing and borders?  Do you think I need something different or am I good to go?

I also won a door prize.  I always liked the cats in the vegetables designs that Story Quilts put together some years back called Carden Patch Cats.  As you can see this one is Podcats, Block Eight of Helene Knott's series.  The fabric came along with the win and likely intended for the background.  I'll probably use it when this pattern comes to the sewing table.
I worked on more "Mom" projects, but did find time to decide how I wantedto store for showing off some of my quilts with this new piece of furniture from Wayfair.  Trust me there are so many others in my home that won't be seen unless you open up not one, but two closets...stand back if you do =^.^=

Make sure you check out Mom's blog SewWhatElse.

Sunday Stash Report, September 25, 2022

This was a goal for me this week.  Of course I had other things to sew that caused me not to finish Month 4 of Autumn Love.  What better time to get back to Autumn Love by Lori Holt than the first days of Autumn.  I'll be working next on the words "Autumn" that go in the project.

These are the units to use making the stars.  The smallest unit 1 1/2" and the largest unit 2 1/2".  Definitely need to take these finished stars to the ironing board.
I finished the third Hopscotch, Butterscotch binding project and worked on projects that are my Mom's story to tell.  Her blog will be updated shortly.

My Design Wall post tomorrow will have lots to share, so stay tuned in!

Now I can claim that I am up-to-date!  O Say...Can You Sew! Clue 6 is on my Design Wall, all 32 9 1/2" blocks.  I checked and double checked that Clue 5 was placed in the correct orientation on each of them; pointing to the 9-patch red/white center.  Clue 7 will be available to us on Monday, October 3.  Clue 7 supposedly will be the last for the project.  I feel a change in my Stash Stats coming soon =^.^=

I did some binding yesterday on the second Wonky Wishes charity quilt.  The next project to come out and play will be Autumn Love.  I am at Month 4 of this project.  It is all cut out and ready for stitching.  There are letters and star blocks to be sewn.

Until next time have a wonderful week!

Sunday Stash Report, September 18, 2022

This week I worked on O Say...Can You Sew! Clue 5. Literally, Clue 5 consumed me =^.^=  The end result is a finish of Clue 5!

From Monday through Thursday Clue 5 had me cutting dog ears and pulling paper.  It was sure nice to see there was an end to this task with 1162 1 1/2" unfinished HSTs in blue and white!

This was the biggest clue so far in the mystery!  Next up putting the 9-patches together.  There were 128 to accomplish.  It is nice having a larger throat space to stack up the different HSTs so no 9-patch has the same unit in it...not that you could tell unless you were really looking for a repeat!

The first part of the chain piecing is done putting three HSTs together into a row.  A bit of snipping after three rows and then set up for sewing the rows together.  This part took two days of sewing (not just talking evenings, rather enough to get through an audio book).
There was a bit of time before dinner chimes called me on Saturday night, so a start to Clue 6 commenced.  This one will be easy in comparison.  It brings Clue 5 and  Clue 4 together.  The task will be 32 9 1/2" blocks.  Clue 6 should be done today if all goes to plan.

Nothing roles the stash report numbers in any direction this week.  I have in mind getting back to Autumn Love project.  Hope everyone has a wonderful week.

O Say...Can You Sew! Part 5 is what I'm working on now.  This is the 1" finished HSTs that have me occupied.  There are 1162 to cut, sew, cut from the paper foundation, press, remove the dog ears and pull the paper foundation.  I can say the cut, sew, cut from the paper foundation, and press are all done.  I still have a bunch in the final two stages.

Ready for finger pressing.
Finger pressed open.
Ironed open.
The units on the right are finished.
This is what I'm working towards.  These nine units make a 3 1/2" unfinished block.  Part 6 is out now; anxious to get through it too.  I think that will be this week.  Wish me luck.

Hope it isn't too hot where you are located.  It is back to work for me today!  Enjoy your week ahead =^.^=

Sunday Stash Report, September 11, 2022

I've been visiting my parents the last couple of weeks so there hasn't been any updates to my stash.  BUT...I have been moving my Mom's stash like no tomorrow!  I went through her upstairs stash and pulled out any pieces 24" or larger for the case part of pillow cases.  NEXT...I went through her downstairs stash and pulled out any pieces 12" or larger to make the band part of pillow cases along with the 2 1/2" trim part to coordinate with the case part.  When the cutting was done 27 pillow case kits were made all of which are for a childrens charity that she supports through her Quilters by the Bay Quilt Guild.  I also pulled out fabrics for four quilts that will be for charity.  As I pen this post I think there are only six more blocks to go (out of 20) for the first scrappy Broken Courthouse Steps top.  I will be updating my Mom's blog as she gets through all that I cut out for her.

The photo at the top is my second and just above my third Wonky Wishes projects back from Kerry the day after getting back home.  I trimmed up both and already have the binding sewn down; ready for hand stitching.

SPOILER ALERT!!!

Saturday my 2022 Spooky Box arrived from Fat Quarter Shop.  Halloween projects are my favorite.  I'm pretty certain I will be making Scary Faces.  Some fun Halloween treats filled the box.

I'll be back moving my stash around.  There are three projects in progress =^.^=
