Sunday Stash Report, January 10, 2021

 

My sewing focus this week was on Month 1 Block of the Month with Vintage Christmas by Lori Holt.  This BOM is coordinated by Stitchin Heaven.  If you are interested in a BOM there are so many administrated by Stitchin Heaven.  You are sure to find one to your liking.  The Manger scene was the most difficult; there were so many tiny pieces!  I was determined to get the first six blocks done before the next (Month 2) six were delivered.  Missed it by a day, but still felt accomplished!

Bonnie Hunter revealed the finish of her Grassy Creek 2020 Winter Mystery (Krooked Kreek).  I do like what I see; surprised that the string blocks would be the sashing and not the border!  Always nice to have a surprise.  Looks like beyond green squares...more gray strings are to be made.  I have the green squares cut; will be making 16 blocks instead of the 25 in the pattern.  This means making two more of everything I have made previously.  Easy!

Kai table runner finished.  Happy dancing...Sunshine #7 is in the books!  Mom will be happy with this cups table runner.

Kreepy Kompanions table runner finished.  Happy dancing.  Mom gets this one too for her Halloween season table.  This one is a bit long, hope it fits okay on her table.

As I anticipated there were two receipts of fabrics this week.  Laundry Basket Quilts Signature Style Fat Quarter Bundle arrived.  24 FQ that I am totally happy with.  Most of these will go in the Sonnet project.  I also got thread from Joann.

The other fabric received from Fat Quarter Shop.  Four half yard pieces of the very cute new released Animal Crackers line.  Nothing else this past week to claim, but there is more coming :).  So my stats change to putting me in the red...urgh, but soon to be changed.  Krooked Kreek is getting close and it will be my first 2021 UFO!

Sunday Stash Report, December 27, 2020

 

Kai was finished on Christmas Day.  It will be on its way to Kerry's Quilting tomorrow.  This is my #7 UFO with the Sunshine Quilt Guild 2020-2021 Challenge.  I'll need to have it complete before our next meeting in January.  This pattern is called Coffee Break by Karla Alexander of Cut Loose Press.  The project takes the speciality ruler made by Creative Grids called Spider Web.  Kerry provided the coffee themed fabric scraps from projects she made.  This will be a good everyday table runner for my Mom.

Now I'm off to spend time on Forever in Blue Jeans and catching up with Bonnie Hunter's Grassy Creek Mystery.  I leave with another roll of my stash odometer!

Sunday Stash Report, December 20, 2020

Forever In Blue Jeans has been in a hold until all kinds of things happen with the termite fumigation.  I do have the batting and printed squares ready to go.  Just need that precious time to sit down and do in my sewing room.  My Sister today sent the song by Neil Diamond to learn if their is something "Kish" to name this project!

Mom sent me a few fabrics this past week.  She's de-stashing to me!  I hope to find something to do with these cute fabrics.

Janet O makes for a special group of family and friends soaps.  I'm honored to be part of this group.  I also received from her the nice sewing bag with the moniquer "Quilter's Rule!...don't we?  Thank you Janet for keeping me in your thoughts.

Midway Wool purchases came in during the week.  I ordered the kit for the candy cane and the snowman.  My tree in 2021 is planned to be full of wool created ornaments.  There is more to come from Etsy in the next few days.  Do be kind to Midway Wool one of our small business across the US borders.  They are entirely online and are awesome in helping you get just what you need from them.  For me they started with the Beware! It's Halloween" BOM started at the 2020 Road to California Quilt Show.  They really care for their clients.  Make them your #1 Wool Team.

Coffee Break is in production.  Kerry provided her scraps from the projects she made.  I've added to them and we shall see what results.  This is a Sunshine Quilt Guild 2020-2021 UFO Incentive Project #7.  It needs to be done before the next meeting in January.  I've got to work it fast so that Kerry's Quilting has enough time to do her part and get it back to me for binding and a label.  Keep your fingers crossed for me as time is not on my side during the holidays!

Koils was returned to me this week along with Kollective Kolors.  Both by the way coined by my sister...  I finished Koils and still stitching Kollective Kolors.  I just love the difference Kerry's Quilting made with the rows of quilting being different.  Something new to both of us for our similar projects.

Design Wall Monday, December 14, 2020

 

Forever in Blue Jeans has been sitting collecting dust since probably 2014.  I had the jeans, the print, and the batting cut up into squares.  Did a little bit of stitching and something else must have drawn my attention away.  This is something I don't usually go towards.  I have sewn with used jeans several times.  The issue with this project was quilting as you go.  Under each of the print squares is the batting which is the part I am not crazy about.  Maybe this is why I find myself with a Ziplock bag collecting dust!  A friend, Darlene, was looking for used jeans that I was happy to provide (thanks to a coworker, Marco, who gives me all of his).  Anyway scavenging around for jeans to gift to Darlene I stumbled upon Forever in Blue Jeans deciding to dust it off and finish it =^.^=  Be prepared friends that I might need some encouragement to get this one done.

Coffee Break by Karla Alexander of Cut Loose Press is the designer of this table runner that will be an everyday one for Mom's table.  I have some scraps that have been set aside for it's making.  You might remember the Christmas Tree table runners I made as gifts last year this time.  This pattern uses the same Creative Grids Spider Web ruler.  It is the 2020 - 2021 Sunshine Quilt Guild UFO Challenge #7 that needs to be done before our January meeting.
