No photos to post today. I have been working on Kyanite, Bonnie Hunter's Straits of Mackinac. Lots of units to put together and a must for me to move on to Good Fortune. Part 1 was released and fabrics are being pulled from my 1 1/2" strips. Love to use up that size. Before I have Kyanite done...Part 2 of Good Fortune is sure to be released.
Hope your design wall is full of fun =^.^=

Sunday Stash Report, November 25, 2018
Well I have been quite busy with Kyanite (Bonnie Hunter's Straits of Mackinac). I plan to get the blocks finished and wait until I have the new book String Frenzy in hand to calculate the borders. I have about nine more blocks to have the units for my project. Only the top right block has been sewn together. You can see the "storm" design coming can't you?
Can you believe that I am using all of these tools throughout the process? True we always use the two outside rulers with every project, but the inside four don't come out too often. When they do...boy is the job of cutting and trimming made easier.
My cut strips stash is getting smaller as I work which is a good thing =^.^= I may have to break into the yardage that is sitting in the project basket soon!
So I am certain you have seen the flutter of quilters busily working on their #Good Fortune. I have pulled my 1 1/2" red scraps and started a bit on the 1 1/2" neutral scraps. Kerry and I plan to share stash for the project. I am not in the best way on the reds. I will work with what I have then the rest will either come from Kerry or a local quilt shop. I will be making 4-patches in Part 1 of the project. I hope to be further along than where I am today when Part 2 is released on Friday.
This is a Churndash block for the December BOM at Sunshine Quilt Guild. The white was supplied. Participants provide the bright. Don't you love the white on white background fabric. (You may say "I have seen this before"; you would be right! There was enough for one 3" square to put in Kyanite.)
Last to show this week is Kanton Kull. Pam Buda is the designer of this beauty. The monthly kits were offered at Country Loft. Kerry and I got into purchasing the kits each month at about month four. I have yet to make the bonus quilt with the leftover fabric scraps, but it will be done! These red scraps have a home until the bonus quilt project is done.Used this week: 0 yards

My new project. Just love the blues and aquas in this one. Any ideas on a "K" name?
Bonnie Hunter created the design she calls Straits of Mackinac. I learned that this is one of the designs she has published in the soon to be available String Frenzy. The book is due out in December.
These are the neutrals along with the blue and aqua fabrics that I am cutting. I am excited to only have one white on white among the neutrals. All of the others are novelty neutrals.
After Sunday's sewing this was all that was left to make more units
This is the border. Fun way to finish off the string triangle in a square blocks. I think I will have the String Frenzy in hand when the time comes to need it. For now the main blocks are enough to keep me stitching!

I was a lucky winner at Tuesday night's monthly Sunshine Quilt Guild meeting. Besides being all wrapped up with a nice silver bow - this basket contained a
- 22"x 34" Big Matt cutting mat
- Olfa 45mm rotary cutter
- Plastic Cube for rotary cutter
- String Along Stars pattern
- Handi Press mini iron
- Wild Goosechase novel
- Magnetic Wrist band (for pins)
- Honey Bunn fabric strip bundle
Friday I started my next 2018 UFO project. This one is another Bonnie Hunter design from Quiltmaker's 100 Blocks series, Straits of Mackinac. I will be using the blue aqua 5" strip blocks from a swap I coordinated with nine others. Above is the first of 16 blocks.
Here are the neutrals I will be using. Looks like a lot, but remember a scrap quilt is as good as its variety.
The rest of the blocks in assembly.

Design Wall Monday,
Today I have Knightley on the table cutting batting. I am also working hard to complete a second charity quilt. I didn't make time for a photo to be taken of this cute dragon print with a solid teal mixed in to bring out the colors of the dragons. I plan to finish it off with a solid red binding. All the last minute must get dones before Tuesday night. Sunshine Quilters meet and it is also my time to turn quilting projects over to Kerry. Kapricorn is my Show and Share.
Not a very robust post, but you get the idea how busy this night is for me!

This is Kapricorn all complete. I'm anxious to have something to share with my Sunshine Guild sisters on Tuesday night. Wish I knew who won the BOM of this pattern I offered in pink at the Guild awhile back.
Finally complete with this one. It is a 2018 UFO offered by Bonnie Hunter called Night of Indigo Blue. Knightley is the name of my project, unless before I create the label something I like better comes along.
Adding the inner border allowed for the Square in a Square units to fit in just perfectly. All said there were:
- 72 9-patch units
- 71 String snowball units
- 48 String border units; some with gold tips and some not
- 4 String corner units
- 86 Square in a square units
I started with a lot of this for the back, but not quite enough. Most of my day today was spent on making the "quite enough". I used all the remaining blues from the project. (I'll share the back with you in a later post.) In the end 17 3/4 yards came from my stash. It will be interesting to see how close I came to Bonnie's number should she publish the pattern.
It is always a good week when there's fabric to be counted in the USED stat! Love that I broke 100 in the Net used in 2018 =^.^=

Kapricorn came back to me from Kerry yesterday...
Along with Kanton Kull. You know I'll be binding real soon.
The Design Wall has Night of Indigo Blue still on it. I got to my sewing room too late for any quilting. I did select my fabric for the Block of the Month for Sunshine Guild. It will be due next Tuesday. It is Bonnie Hunters Florabunda pattern. It consists of five 4-patches and four HSTs. Flowers in my stash are extremely few and far to find! You early rises enjoy the morning sunshine an hour earlier...

It's looking like a finish... The table is empty!
Used this week: 0 yards
I took two photos of the project because it just covers too much of my Design Wall to capture it entirely. The border unit at the far left is for the bottom. I ran into a little of an issue which prevents me from claiming a finish.
You may recall that I was working from Bonnie Hunter's photos to create my project. So my measurements weren't exactly right when I started to put on the square in a square border. The height of the first border units should have probably been 5-1/2" unfinished. Mine are 4-1/2" unfinished which meant they didn't fit correctly, too big for the center. So I will improvise by adding a small second border that is 1-1/2" wide. That should work perfectly to fill the gap. Fingers crossed for Monday night sewing. I still lack a name... Until next week when it is sure to happen...no change to my Stash Stats for this week =^.^=
