The first photo has the six compasses (left and center) not sewn together. The bottom photo has them all sewn together. All nine are finished into blocks. I've moved them around to distribute color. This may not be the final layout...what do you think? That real bright one in the middle seems to take center stage. Not sure I like that much. I have nine compass centers to applique into place along with many more HSTs to finish the border.

Wow - great progress! I see 4 "dark" ones in the picture which are next to each other in sets of 2 - would just suggest spacing them out so they aren't next to each other.
There are 4 dark ones. I would move the upper left to the bottom middle, then I think it will be balanced.
I think this is amazing, Sandi (and so are you)! It glows, radiates--however you want to say it. It is iridescent! I think the bright one looks good in the center--otherwise it would pull the eye to wherever it was placed. The center keeps it balanced. I didn't notice the placement of darks until I read the other comments and "looked" for it.
And I kind of like the light design wall showing through in the centers. I'll be interested to see how it changes with the centers in place.
This is going to be one gorgeous quilt! I love the border you are making for it. My eye is really drawn to the upper left hand corner, to the two dark blocks. I would separate those two, but I'm sure it will be beautiful, however you arrange it. Have a super day!
