Design Wall Monday, April 8, 2013

Happy Monday!  Today I have on my design wall the start of Kalahari which is my April UFO with  Everything was cut sometime ago thanks to Netflix in the family room that happens to be close to the kitchen table.  I wanted to see how the two block designs were going to look with the fabrics so I assembled one of each.  I like what I see so far.

I have lots more to assemble, but it should go pretty quick.  I really like the snail's trail block and this will be the second project this year using the same star block.

This next one is ready for hand sewing the binding and the sleeve in place.  Karen's Knines is a big quilt measuring 95" square.  Karen's Knines is a Bonnie Hunter design called Sisters Nine Patch.  Kerry's Quilting as usual did an excellent job with the quilting.

This is the next Netflix kitchen table project, Kloudburst.  I'm doing my best to have as many UFOs in the "ready to sew" position.  With this one there will be three ready.  More on Kloudburst in the future.

Other terrific projects can be seen through the links today at

I love the Snail's Trail block, too. This looks like it will make a beautiful quilt with the star blocks in the mix.
I'm really liking the batiks I see waiting to be in Kloudburst.

Wow - busy, busy, busy!!! You get more done than anyone else I know! Well, maybe you and Sharon Vrooman :*) I'm planning the Neutrals quilt too - someday. I have all the fabrics picked out but too many other things in the way first. Hopefully I'll get to start sometime this year. In the meantime, I'll drool over yours :*)

The snails's trail block is one of my favorites. Love your color combination. Especially doing it in batiks. Awesome..
