Paying tribute to those who served well including Bretagne.
Here she is on that fateful day. This brave dog just recently moved on to the rainbow bridge. There was an honorable departure for her.
She just mssed her 17th birthday.
You can read about Bretagne HERE. To all of those two and four legged souls involved in the crisis my thoughts are with you on this day of remembrance.
As for stash...another one for building. Last year I gifted Luke and Logan with a Halloween quilt promising a second one this year. I was a bit worried there might be some possessiveness with just one being sent, but I was told they both were good at sharing. Well share no more...
Isn't this panel just adorable? The green dot will be for both the border and back. The stripe will be for the binding. The other two FQs are stash builders.

It has been a big vacation week for me. I've been at my parents home in Maryland celebrating both of their birthdays and their anniversary. This is my annual visit and a good time of year to visit Maryland. Dad spent a week before my visit collecting blue crabs for my yearly feasting. We had around two dozen from off their pier when the cooking time came along.
Here we are picking the meat away from the shells after a steam bath for the larger males. Those hands in the top right belong to my Dad and the chair pulled away from the table was my seat for the long arduous task of picking. We ended up with about 18 scrumptious crab cakes. Most of these made it to the freezer where they will be shared with my sister and future suppers. Indeed I got my share later that evening along with hush puppies! Mom opted for coconut shrimp as she's not too fond of crab...go figure.
Dad and I took in one night of dancing. I've been away from dancing too long, but Dad enjoys kicking up his feet sometimes twice a week. I'd certainly be going with him regularly if I were living in the area still. (It isn't like riding a bike where you pick it up after your first spin.) Dad has enough friends to keep him on the floor anytime he shows up. The theme for this night was 60's and 70's.
There is a giveaway that my friend Kerry is running on her blog Kerry's Quilting. The giveaway finishes on September 10th so make sure you put your entry into the contest. She gives all the details at the link HERE.
Nothing on my Design Wall to share this week. I am anxious to get to sewing when I get home!
Sunday Stash Report, September 4, 2016
It is so much fun to go to a college football game. There is so much excitement! The unfurling of the Maryland flag by all the students was pretty cool. Maryland won their first game YIPPEE. My nephew is the Head Defensive Coach; his first position in this capacity. A win was very important to him as you can imagine.

As for sewing...well there hasn't been too much of that happening. I have hand stitched six small quilts since I've been here. There are three more I will stitch down for someone else to hand stitch since time isn't on my side to complete them. They are all going to various places. Three are spoken for by others, two are going to the Veterans Home and the rest to Project Linus. The projects were all started in May. Mom was sure happy to have these completed.
I have gone to two of my favorite quilting shops, Calvert and Michelle's Quilt shops. I picked up a back for my Kalvery and fabrics for my September UFO that will be called Karduus. I missed last weeks report, but nothing changed the numbers.
