Today is my Birthday!  I'm receiving lots of birthday wishes from all my friends and family.  My Dad even sang to me!  I'm also receiving lots of discounts during my birthday month.  I'll certainly make good of Rosie's and Erica's fabric coupons.  Then there's Macy's, my Eye Doctor, far too many to mention Restaurants, even Poway Honda wants me to celebrate with them.  Friends at work are taking me out for lunch and I'm pretty sure DH won't be expecting me to make dinner!

I did treat myself to some new 3-Day blinds for my home.  I had an offer of 20% off which was made even better (25%) by the representative who came to measure the windows.  They were installed last night.  I'm really pleased with how they look.  I had nothing at the kitchen window, roman shades at the laundry and office, and vinyl shades in the exercise room.  It was nice to change up after 12 years.  We have the same blinds in most of the other windows in our home.

Kurly Kues

I've got progress with my Cheddar Bow-ties pattern of Bonnie Hunter's which is FREE on her website.  Do you think the layout is right?  Need to mix the light blues with the dark blues.  I do know about one mistake where the bow tie is turned in the wrong direction.  I'll be fixing it!

Kontinental
This is Kontinental which is another Bonnie Hunter pattern called Scrappy Trip Around the World.  It's FREE on her website.  I started this in a workshop in January through Sunshine Quilters at Memory Lane.  When the next disaster strikes Kontinental will find a new home which I know will give comfort to it's new owner.

Hope you are finding time in your sewing room this week.

Kaktus

Judy selected #6 to work on this month for our 2012 Challenge.  I'm really pleased to have Kaktus done already.  I have two more UFOs on the list and neither are started...  I'm hopeful with this extra time to continue on some of my projects not part of the challenge and perhaps get started on one of the two that are coming.

No Klucks Here Either!

Kurly Kues

During the quilt retreat this past weekend I got done with the turkey blocks less the zig zag stitching around the Steam-A-Seam turkeys.  I wanted to do this part on my Pfaff instead.  I'm familiar with it's stitching and like it a bit better than my portable Janome.  I also got done with the 16 16-patch bow ties blocks.  I wanted to put these blocks together after a long look at placement so that I can spread the fabrics out best.  I'll find time this week to finish Kurly Kues for certain.

Krayons

Krabapple
Never got to work on Krabapple or Krayons, but it was good to have taken them just in case.  For some more eye candy check out the links today on Patchwork Time's Design Wall Monday.  Have a wonderful week!
