Earlier this week I showed these two quilts with binding ready to be sewn down.
Here they are with binding in place and ready for hand stitching. I will be taking in my sewing machine for servicing while on vacation. Today is the day it goes to Paradise Sewing for its spa treatment =^.^= It should be running smoothly after all the attention it will receive! I will be ready for sewing when I return.
Two days and counting! My boys are going to miss me while I am away...

Kloggs so far. There is still much more to cut for this king sized project!
It needs a little green...
and some warm colors...
there is a bunch of blue already cut, but I found another to add in.
Like most projects there is always a place for neutrals. Hope to get to cutting these fabrics tonight. Only a few more evenings until it will be time to pack!

The quilts that are back from Kerry. These are the first to have the binding stitched in place ready for hand sewing. Aren't they going to put a smile on a child's face. Project Linus is the destination for these. The one on the right is glow in the dark fabric. How fun will that be for a child as he falls off into dreamland. Mom put these together when she was at the quilting retreat we attend in May.
These two are waiting for their turn. The top one will be a donation to the Veterans Home. Not sure what will happen with the red and white quilt. Kerry has another four to finish. It is possible to get them before my trip. The plane takes off on Thursday with me aboard!
As for stash this 35th week of 2016.

Kalvery |
Now it is on to Kloggs. I took my evening hours to rotary cutting the blacks. In the top left corner are my next grouping of medium-to-dark fabrics to be cut. I plan to tackle some of these during my lunch break.
Cats can sleep anywhere! This is Koko on the edge of my sewing table sound asleep. He had been soaking in the sun at the window, but apparently got to hot.
I'll be back at Kloggs later this evening. I would like to have as much of it cut as possible and started before I leave next week for my Parents home. I'll be taking the project with me =^.^=

This will be the last time you see Kalvery in pieces. There just was not enough time to sew on the last border. As you might see the two side borders are cut and at the ready for stitching...
but the top and bottom are still just at the correct width waiting for the measurement when the two sides are in place. There will be a UFO finish this week! (To read more about Kalvery click on the link under labels.)
To see more of what other quilters are doing see the links at Patchwork Times. Enjoy your week. I'm at ten days and counting before my trip to visit my parents and family. =^.^=

Along came my third and last (for the time-being) Quilty Box. This stash isn't quilt fabrics in my opinion so I won't add it to my counts. The are a denim intended for more crafty type projects. The "Box" came with matching heavy weight thread, denim sewing machine needles, and two patterns. I think I'll take this with me when I travel so Mom can assist with the making...she is the crafty one!

Kalvery as I finish my sewing for Sunday. I have all blocks stitched now. The next step is sewing the neutral sashing to the blocks. The block column on the left has all the neutral sashing sewn to the small blocks. I still have to sew that sashing to the large blocks in the column. There is a puddle of red sashing all set in a heap on the floor.
Due to what's left of the red I have to change paths for the outter red sashing. I am thinking the red pinned at the left might be the ticket. After the red comes a tan sashing and finally a larger blue border. I need to make sure my eagles work out to be the correct length...not much margin for error on these.
I will be back at Kalvery tonight. Hope your week is excellent! See other quilting project through the links at Patchwork Times. =^.^=

Saturday when I had anticipated working on Kalvery...
I found myself driven to the cork birdhouse that has been sitting on my pantry table for the better part of a week. It needed some remodeling! Needless to say it took all morning. I'm not really one to work on this type of "crafty" projects. No Mom I'm not going to convert =^.^= It was fun, but there must be a better glue gun than the one I have. Talking about glue; this project used more than you could possibly guess. I even fashioned a perch with a cooking skewer for the birdies to rest on before they make their way inside.
Next I sewed down the binding on Katchaklaus. (This is one of the fun names to say along with Kwitcherbitchin' and Kookoo Katchu.)
I did cut out all the pieces for the last two large blocks and six stars. I made one extra star just because the fabrics were handy and nearly the right size. It may either replace one that is in the project now or make its way to the back or the sleeve.

These pieces separate the blocks. The two fabrics are for the inner and outer border. The red goes next to the eagles and then around the entire pieced center. The tan will go next and finally a dark blue outer border.
Today I sew! See how much I get done when you return for tomorrow's Design Wall Monday. Oh...no change to my stash stats this week. See other quilters using their stash through the links at Patchwork Times.

Sunday I spent time working on Kalvery. I am very close to a finish on this project.
I have two large and six small blocks yet to stitch. I have the pieces all cut out now. My plan for tonight is to sew them up. It would be nice to have Kalvery done before I start August's UFO. There is a parade today of finishes at 52Quilts.com if you have time to see who was able to get their July UFO finished. This is also the announcement of what August's UFO will be.
Over the weekend I got a quilt back from Kerry's Quilting. Katchaklaus has been trimmed down from excess back and batting. The sleeve has been readied. Next will be selecting a binding fabric. I hope to find something in my stash; keep your fingers crossed for me :)!
Let me close with a Happy Birthday to my brother, Steve. He's been looking over us from above for several years now. We all miss him each and every day.
See more projects today at both 52Quilts.com and PatchworkTimes.com.
