How's your week been going so far? I've been blog hopping on Pat Sloan's Focus on the Center Book Tour which announces the release of her new book. She's got two designers each day talking about what they would do with designs from the book. Pat also mentions a little about each designer on her blog...plus there is a give away of 20 books. Tomorrow will be the last day of this blog run. I've also been blog hopping on Quiltmaker Magazine 100 Blocks Blog Tour announcing the release of Volume 5. This is a great publication for inspiration. I've been lucky enough to obtain the first four volumes and hope to win one from one of the blogs I visited during the hop. This one finishes tomorrow too. It will be a bit more difficult getting through all the blogs as there are 13 each day to visit. Your chances to win a copy of the Volume 5 issue increase with each blog you visit; plus some of the designers include some pretty fabulous give aways too.
My sewing hours have been working on Kamile. Kamile is from a Quiltmaker pattern published last year called Perennial Petals that is my May UFO project. Here's a glimpse at the first of 31 blocks that are needed to make the project. (I don't think the green shows it's true color very well in this photo.) I'll need to pick up another spool of green thread for the blanket stitching that I'm doing on the stems. Hopefully my quilting buddy Kerry has some bright batiks I can raid! I probably have about twenty combinations so far from my stash, but would like more variety to make each flower unique. I'll be using my Bloc Loc ruler on this project to square up all the 2" HSTs. The middle of the flower is a 4" paper pieced component. Lot's more sewing to do on this one.
Enjoy your Friday!
