Design Wall Monday, February 17, 2020

Well not on my wall exactly, but rather my sewing table.  Kavort is coming along nicely.  I have all 12 of the setting triangles done and all four of the bottom triangles done.
The sashing is still in work.  The 1 1/2" blue squares are part of the sashing too.  All of this sewing and assembly are the last Part of the Frolic Mystery.  Part 9/Reveal is full of things to do.

I am starting to think about what project to tackle next =^.^=

Sunday Stash Report, February 16, 2020

I have the Shamrock Table Runner and two audio books to keep me occupied on the flight to Tampa.
I plan to take Kastaway and the jewel kit with me for putting the bling on.  The pattern for Kastaway came from a quilt shop in the Tampa area.  Perhaps I'll pick up another in the series and share my project with them.

More from purchases at the 2020 Road to California Quilt Show arrived this week.  I also have a refreshed Yazzii bag.  Kerry had this one and wanted a different style Yazzii bag so I offered to take it off her hands =^.^=
I learned at the Sunshine Guild February Meeting that the UFO #2 will be the challenge to get done before the March Meeting.  Tonya who is the coordinator for the charity we support had some cute backs available so I selected this cute piece for one that will be made.  Perhaps #2 will work with it.  I didn't purchase it and it will be gone shortly so no inclusion in my stash status.

Working still on Kavort (Bonnie Hunter's Frolic).  Come back to see where I am with it tomorrow on my Design Wall Monday report.  Until next time =^.^=

Design Wall Monday, February 10, 2020

I have 24 of the 25 blocks assembled for Kavort (Frolic) on my Design Wall today.  There will be shuffling about to mix up the colors of the blocks more appealingly.  I'm not thrilled with some of the blocks and may choose to convert into setting blocks instead.
These are what's left to work with still.  You can see I haven't continued making into blocks the "lighter" sets in the middle.  Bonnie did attempt to make this a clear hint during the construction of the the Part.  She said make sure there is lots of contrast between the aquas and blues.  I need to listen better =^.^=  I might be using my Clover Seam Ripper soon.

Tomorrow is Sunshine Quilt Guild monthly meeting.  I'll be one of the members presenting our first quilt and a handy technique/tool.  Should be a fun evening.

Sunday Stash Report, February 9, 2020

There is a completion out of my sewing room this week!  Love it =^.^=  The Shamrock Table Runner for my Mom is finished.  Today it should be at Kerry's Quilting in AZ thanks to Priority Mail.
It didn't take too much fabric, but there were lots of 1.5 inch squares of green to be cut - 108 of them.  I became acquainted once again with my Phaff's ability to perform the blanket stitch.
Once the time sensitive Shamrock project was finished Kavort took center stage.  I have it all paired up and ready for the final stitching of Part 9/Reveal.
There was some cutting involved, but not too much.  This last part puts all the Parts previously sewn together.
These are the four-patches from Part 1.
The first block pieced and arranged.  With all the seams in these units I will be pressing before block assembly.  For a short time longer the pattern Frolic is available at Quiltville.

I made it out of the red, but not by much.  Stats this week:

Used this week:  2 yards
Used YTD:  12 yards
Purchased this week:  0 yards
Purchased YTD:  10.5 yards
Net used in 2020: 1.5 yards

Design Wall Monday, February 3, 2020

On my Design Wall are the blocks, sashing, and borders for the Shamrock Table Runner that will be for my Mom.  At the point now to blanket stitch down the clovers and stems.  I will be doing this with my machine.  It can do a great blanket stitch.  Next will be to put the four blocks together with sashing and...you know the rest.  I hope to have this one done and in the mail to Kerry this weekend.

Sunday Stash Report, February 2, 2020

I have Sunshine UFO Challenge #3 done except for the binding.  Another charity quilt that a boy would enjoy.  It has planes on the border and trains on the back.  Must have it done before next Tuesday or pay the penalty.
Kavort hasn't seen too much progress.  There are pieces to cut in this last Part.  Kassy is assisting with the 1.5 inch rectangles.  She is looking for the right neutrals =^.^=

Nothing finished and nothing brought home.  As we begin the second month of the year unfortunately I am in the red :(
