Kutarug
I've been making lots of progress on my August 2017 UFO.  Making more green, blue, purple, and a few black and red hour glass units for pinwheels.  I have enough for a row or two of the other colors in pinwheels ready.  Sewing two rows together works best for me and as you can notice I'll be needing more of the yellow/blue HST units too.
Kutarug Hour Glass Units
These are planned for trimming throughout the day.  Assembly into the pinwheel units will be on Monday.  Need to mix up the tasking so my wrist takes a break from the trimming.
Kapture, Mom's Strings, Kilimanjaro, Kountry Kollection
I spent a few hours with Kerry on Friday.  Four small quilts were waiting for me.  Kapture starts at the top of the photo.  Next to find fabrics for the bindings!  Hope my stash has something for each of them.

Nothing to change the stash this week.

I must share with you the most recent KitNipBox for October.  Its theme is Halloween!  Look what's inside...the kitties are going crazy over the scarecrow!  Each of the toys are catnip'd except for the ghost and the scarecrow.  The ghost is on an elastic string with a ring perfect for putting around a door knob.  The scarecrow is on an elastic string knotted to a stick for dangling and getting them to run like the dickens after it.

The box also came with these treats.

Kosmo loves them that he growls at Kassy when they are too close enjoying the tasty duck liver.  I've had to tap him on his rear with a firm no that he acts this way!  I have already looked into a purchase of more.  PureBites are available through Amazon (who would have guessed).  If Kosmo can learn how to let his sister have some without the growling we may purchase more.  One more thing to share, Kosmo's first selfie!

He is such a ham...............

And now you know why you aren't seeing much sewing happening in my home =^.^=

Sunday Stash Report, October 22, 2017

Well Kutarug is taking shape.  I have about 23 rows stitched/arranged.  I will be needing 35 according to rough calculations.  Before anymore rows can come together more green, red and orange pinwheels need to be made.
Of course that means taking strips from my stash.  Then there's the marking and trimming.  I feel like a broken record =^.^=

Nothing to change the stash this week.  Enjoy the week ahead :)

I am sitting in my wing back chair while these two are taking over my sewing chair!  Sorry about the glare and the red eye.  Kosmo is on the seat and Kassy is on the back.  She has been trying to figure out how to get to all my knick knacks that are on a shelf up high behind the sewing cabinet.  I hope she never does =^.^=

There is sewing going on.  Still working on Kutarug when my kitties are sleeping.  Enjoy the week.

Sunday Stash Report, October 15, 2017

Kutarug assembly has begun.  What you see is about half the size of the project.  Right now calculations are estimating 35 rows across and 33 rows down.  It is evident that the entire project won't fit on the design wall.  To keep the colors varied throughout, I will be sewing half of the project then fold it over to continue to see what's close around each row.  Besides it keeps the kittens from being overly interested in pieces that are within easy reach.
I have many prepared setting units ready.  More are ready for trimming.  These are the easy units.
In the front are what remains of finished pinwheel units.  The back is the growing hour glass units and to the left are orange, red, and green soon to be hour glass units.  There is still a lot here to keep me busy.

No changes to stash once again.  But when it becomes time Kutarug is going to make a very big impact!

I received a couple more Birthday gifts.  The first one is from Kerry.  The spool chimes is so darn cute.  Also in the box some cute cat flower pins and a wordy neutral fat quarter pack.  Also some of my favorite cosmetic products.  Wow what a bunch of treasures came out of this gift bag!  Thanks Kerry.
Mom and Dad gifted me with a very nice top.  I like both the style and the color.  It's a winner!  The greeting card was quite touching.  I know my Mom spent a bunch of time finding the right card for me.  Love you and thank you Mom and Dad
Kutarug is moving along.  I had a friend do the math on how many pinwheels would be needed for the size of quilt that's in the plans to make.  Are you ready to hear?  Somewhere around 980!  I have about 200 made right now.  The 1.5" four glass units are taking lots of time to assemble.  There are certainly lots more to go.  A 2.5" square of the color fabric and a neutral makes two.  Red, orange, and green are going to come from my 2.5" scraps container.  I have been readying the neutrals...

This week I finished the binding on my Mom's new quilt.  Can you see how creative I was with the last of the blue stripe?  I had enough for the front but notice the inside of the binding...
I had lots of help =^.^=

I only had this much left.  Now that's using every bit of fabric to its fullest!  Nothing changes my fabric statistics this week.

Sunshine's BOM was assembled.  We were provided the white.  The second fabric was to be a Fall color, no Halloween we were specifically directed.  It is a large block.  I am anxious to see how it makes up into a project.

A couple of events took place this week that kept me from sewing.  Both my Sister and I celebrated birthdays.  I received a few nice gifts and cards.
Tim's brother was married to his long time partner Rita.  The wedding took place in Riverside by the Mission Inn.  The reception was held at the same location with about 40 celebrating the newly weds.

Have a great week.

I have binding ready to press and attach to Mom's quilt.  Looks like I will be standing over the iron later tonight.

#6 UFO was called upon by Patchwork Times to finish this month.  Luckily for me I have this one done already.  Kountry Kollection was worked on before Kutarug found its way to my sewing table.  The was part of a challenge with Jo's Country Junction making Lori Smith's Designs from her patterns Quilt Squares #1, #4, and #6.

On my Design Wall remains units of Kutarug.  These are more of what will soon be HSTs.  This project will be around for some time to come =^.^=

Sunshine Quilt Guild Members may have taken first in the Sew Off for Charity.  The San Diego Quilt Show was this past week.  It ran Thursday through Saturday.  Many of us were there early to set up for the 9am start.  Our mission for the next eight hours was to make as many completed quilts as possible for our charity.  Winner gets $250.00 for the guild.  We were teamed up against Friendship Quilt Guild.  It was a very fun and just a little bit stressful!  Our group completed 21 quilts with the last one just being able to scoot in before the buzzer.  We will find out the results Monday or Tuesday.
I will be off soon to Rosie's to pick up my six quilts.  Three were judged which leaves me anxious to see what was said about them.  Kerry and I split the fabrics for a Sew Kind of Wonderful pattern we picked up.  It is called Mini Pumpkins.  It will finish at 36" x 36".  These are the orange fabrics that will be shared with Kerry.  For now two yards as an add.
Kerry had a quilt for me to bring home.  It is the quilt for Mom that we worked on while she was here earlier this year.  I have just enough strips of blue to work for the binding.  Right now I am sharing the lovely quilting.  It is a yellow and blue variegated thread.  When I get to sewing down the binding the front will be shared.  First I will need to make room on my sewing chair...this seems to be their new favorite place when I am in the sewing room =^.^=
