Kyushu is done.  This is the Bonnie Hunter's #Rhodendundum Trail 2021 Winter Mystery project.  I switched out her pinks for the salmon/orange and also made it smaller.  I am real pleased with the result.  This is a 2022 UFO of mine.

Karryon is done.  This is Lori Holt's Bringing Home the Christmas Tree.  DH  helped to small it down to a finished size that I hoped for.  My wagons have either "man or Christmas slogans as their accent.  This is a 2021 UFO finish.

Kackling is done.  This project starts with a design of Bonnie Hunter's called Punkin' Patch.  It was made for a Sunshine BOM from October 2021 that Pam coordinated.  I was the lucky winner.  I made a few more and figured out a setting.  I call this a success.

I have been doing lots of hand sewing stitching down binding, sleeves, and labels this last two weeks yet there is still hand sewing to do.  Turkey Trot that know will "run" with the name Katching Kluckers thanks to my sister.  The turkeys need legs to run :)  I also have Koastline's fourth side and all the berries on all four sides.  This can be good TV time with DH if he could find some good movies...he is trying!  Maybe I'll have some turkey legs to share with you tomorrow.

Hope your week ahead is a good one =^.^=

Sunday Stash Report, March 20, 2022

After a very long time this beautiful Lonestar is finished.  There were three that my friend Christy found homes for recently and this one found me.  According to Christy her friend Hulda says her Great Grandmother Lillie Knight hand stitched the top.  Lillie came to California about 1908 from Maine.  Hulda thinks this project was made in the 1920s or 1930s.  Kerry did the quilting perfectly to accentuate the spaces and the unique lonestar design.  It finishes at 90" square.  A red fabric that matches very closely to the red Lillie used is the binding.  Well Lillie I hope you are happy with the finish.  It was an honor to accomplish it for you.

During the week Kackling came back to me.  I have the project trimmed up and ready for so magic putting together a sleeve with the extra pieces.  I am uncertain if it will be an orange or a black binding.  Leaning towards orange...

That same day Karryon came back too.  Also have this one trimmed up and ready for sleeve and binding.  I don't have any extra pieces so will likely use the gray that is also the backing for it.  Red fabric will be the binding of this I'm sure.

Kyushu came too!  What an exciting week for me from Kerry!  I have it on my table ready for trimming.  I have to audition the aquas in my stash to see if something will work for binding.  I have a few pieces to add into the sleeve that will also be from backing fabric.

There is no change to stash numbers.  Most of the week was spent hand sewing either on the Lonestar or Koastline.  I'm gathering projects for my Quilting Retreat in Yuma, AZ today.  DH has kitty sitting for a few days...he's good at this=^.^=

Hope your week ahead is a good one =^.^=

Sunday Stash Report, February 20, 2022

Let's start with the finishes!  This one is the oldest, Karryon, a 2021 UFO.  I just love how it turned out.  I had it mostly finished a week ago, but was delayed by not having enough fabric to finish the top and bottom borders.

Well the fabric arrived on Saturday YIPPEE!  I cut the desired length and width, lastly sewed into place.  The backing that will be gray fabric with a bit of movement left over from a former project fit just perfect for Karryon.  I will likely use the same gray or perhaps a bright red for the binding.

Kyushu, the first 2022 UFO to finish!  This is Bonnie Hunter's 2021 Winter Mystery.  I changed out the pink for salmon/orange fabrics.  I really like the end result!  Aqua will be for the binding, unfortunately not what was used in the 1/2" finished sashing because I don't have any more to make it around the smaller than the original design.  I did use a backing fabric that is likely one of the oldest yardage pieces in my stash.  Happy for for it to be used after maybe 10 years.

I also finished Sunshine's February BOM.  I liked it so much that I decided to make a smaller version.  Then there were three! Now what?

As long as I'm shrinking things down...this will be one of the next projects to work on.  Sweet Apple started from my Mom's quilt guild then made it to Sunshine's September BOM that I coordinated.  I wanted to make several of these blocks into a small wall hanging.  The pattern has been staring me down since September!  I've pulled the reds and browns for it from my strip stash and will add the greens not used from the shamrock project to put it together.  While I'm at it I also pulled reds to make two Be Mine projects.  One the full size for my niece and the other smaller for myself.

Another project that is coming along is the Sunshine October BOM Win.  I have been waiting for space on my Design Wall to find a complimentary setting to use.  That being said I made a few more pumpkin blocks with more oranges and greens coming from my strip stash.

I told you I was building up for Acorn Soup project.  The fabrics started arriving last week with just one more to be delivered.  These fabrics are hard to come by as the Squirrelly Girl line has been out for sometime.

This is what I have right now.  It is an applique project with the finished acorn block being 6".  I want to get one of the darker browns used in the project and then along with what I have can pull more fabrics from my stash to give the project a good variety.

Next up came back from Kerry.  I didn't make the top.  It was a project made long ago by a friend of a friend's mother I believe (Christy?).  I provided the back and Kerry did her magic!  The center was a bit difficult during the quilting process, but you'd never know it.  These photos are of it trimmed down.  I'll be headed to Rosie's to find an appropriate binding fabric; both Kerry and I think that red would be a nice compliment.

Along with the Lonestar quilt came shared fabrics from a basket Kerry won years back from Sunshine (or it could have been an auction).  We will both be making this table runner called Turkey Trot.

Have quite a bit of change to my counts...and it certainly is about time!  Out of the negative and on to more positive counts.

During the week I also got a couple of new Alley Cat figurines...  I have quite a collection going!  I just love these sexy cats by Margaret Le Van.

Sunday Stash Report, February 13, 2022

Kyushu is looking great.  I have the top done out to the itty bitty aqua border.  The pieced border is yet to be sewn together.  Since I was going for a smaller size there was a lot of guessing on how many flying geese units would be needed.  I had to make six more to get around, but certain I will need more once they are sewn together.  I will wait on the middles of the borders to see if I need the larger or smaller unit that goes there.  In the photo above the larger unit is there on both sides; top and bottom are just holes for now.  Kyushu is a 2022 UFO.  The pieced border will start getting sewn together perhaps today after the Super Bowl.

I did work on putting Karryon together too.  I got the center assembled.  Knowing I didn't have enough background to continue the outer border I tried something else.

This would do I suppose; with perhaps a red flange to separate top from border.  I just wasn't feeling it, so I decided to try my luck to find more of the Timeless Treasures fabric.  Success!  Found it!  The fabric should arrive during the week.  I'll add the top and bottom and call it finished.  Karryon is a 2021 UFO.  What you see in the first photo will get the top and bottom borders.  No gray border for this project.

I have been looking at this design for awhile.  Each time I would run across it my thoughts would say...get it, you know you want it.  Well it to is on its way this week.

I picked up several of the applique backgrounds and two of them arrived from Alaska Quilting Adventures this week...pretty quick I thought.  These are 1/2 yard cuts.  There are three others coming this week, more from eBay or ETSY shops.

Mom surprised us with these goodies.  Missing from the photo are some great tasting cookies made with oatmeal and butterscotch chips.  A recipe that my sister came across and couldn't get enough of.  We will be having some of these today as we Super Bowl graze.  The goodies in the photo are patterns, fabrics, socks, and masks.  Mom made the pretty masks =^.^=

Koastline is getting attention too.  The second border is nearly done.  A few pieces might get added while we watch the game.  Hope that you have something fun happening in your sewing room!  We are hoping for a Los Angeles Rams win =^.^=

Sunday Stash Report, February 6, 2022

My Design Wall is crowded with Kyushu so my sewing table doubled for this photo of Karryon.  Everything is coming along well.  These are all that need for the project.  There is a 2 1/2" border that will finish this small sized Bringing Home the Christmas Tree by Lori Holt.  Karryon is a 2021 UFO.

This is the second black car.  No words for its accent; instead a strip of holiday symbols of Christmas.

These words claim the holiday in green.  It is the second red car.

Finally, the second gold car.  The accent is holiday words although it is hard to see.   I am considering the placement of the cars, but I think what you see in the first photo is how it will end up.  This might be my first finish of 2022.  I worked on these most of the week.

Friday was my off day this week.  I took time out to place the vine and several leaves on Koastline.  I am still a long way from finishing this 2022 UFO, but it's coming along.  So nothing this week changes my stats.  All the way through the first month and nothing finished...

Design Wall Monday, January 31, 2022

Finally, it was time yesterday to finish the binding on Katcher.  I just love the look of the binding.

Besides cutting the last of the pieces for the car blocks that is all that is going on.  Still on my cluttered Design Wall is Lori Holt's Autumn Love, Sunshine's BOM Win a Bonnie Hunter pattern called Punkin' Patch, Kyushu another Bonnie Hunter design called Rhododendron Trails and if that were not enough Karryon another Lori Holt design called Bringing Home the Christmas Tree.

I am still working on Koastline Laundry Basket Quilt's Michigan.  It is coming along nicely.  I need some more hand sewing and now that the stencil is ready for the next side to be placed, stitched.  First I need to prepare some more dark blue vine!

I hope life is treating you well this first week of February=^.^=

Sunday Stash Report, January 30, 3022

I started out the week with just two of the six cars for Karryon complete.

During the week I did a lot of cutting of pieces to make the rest.  This is the start of a second red and the finish of a yellow car.  I am not thrilled with the second red fabric because it may just be too light with the other three bolder fabrics all ready in the project.

Here is a look at what is done so far.  Sorry for the business of the photo.  I still have Kyushu taking up the majority of my Design Wall.  The last of the trees blocks were finished too.  There are only four tree blocks in the project.

Rosie's was a necessary stop to pick up just a little bit of fabric to finish off the remaining cars.  Like my stash, Rosie's did not have much to offer in the way of wordy fabric that could be used for the accent on the cars.  The top and bottom wordy fabrics will be used for sure.  Still debating on the middle one; likely it will be used for the less bold red and the new red will take it's accent.  Sorry probably confused you on this=^.^=  The bottom gold is a fail that won't be used.  From the black up will all be used.  There will hopefully be more to see on my Design Wall tomorrow.

The specialty ruler arrived and Sunshine January BOM was assembled.  I do like this ruler as it offers a very easy perfectly measured log cabin block.  Using this ruler you sew oversized strips and trim them up as you build the block.  I am happy to have learned about it.

So there is a bit of an add this week.  If DH hadn't driven I would have enjoyed a bit more time in Rosie's, but I got what I needed for now.

Design Wall Monday, January 24, 2022

Kyushu is on my Design Wall today...still.  As I mentioned yesterday I'm all in on Koastline.  Not sure when I'll get back to Kyushu.  I am not that far away from the end!

I got started on my Sunshine January BOM.  I thought it was a simple Log Cabin design, but no.  There is a specialty ruler by Creative Grids that sounds to be useful for multiple reasons, especially the making of this block.  I've ordered it from Fat Quarter Quilt Shop.  When it comes in I will get this block done.

I have also cut out the next two blocks for Karryon.  This one will be a red car.  DH will enjoy the accent on this car.

There are two quilts (Krafter and Katcher) ready for me to hand stitch the binding, sleeve, and label in place.  Oh just too much to do that I want done NOW=^.^=

Sunday Stash Report, December 19, 2021

Bringing Home the Christmas Tree, blocks sized down smaller, has been tested.  It works thanks to my DH for doing the math.  The original tree block finished at 15" square and the car with the trees on top 15" x 26".  The smaller size 8" square and 8" x 14 1/2".  I am pleased to make a smaller project this way.  Making the wheels of the car were the most challenging.  This is where the smallest pieces went, measuring at only 1/2" square.  Now that I know the pattern will work there are several more to make.  This is a 2021 UFO.  I will be doing my best not to let this finish fall into 2022=^.^=

I spent much of the day on Friday with Kerry.  She is out visiting her family and celebrating the holidays for a few days.  We exchanged quilting projects.  She brought me back Kristmas Kollection Mini, 35" square.  I need time for a run to Joann's to pick up some jumbo red rick-rack.  I plan to finish it just like the full size project.

I have Pumpkin Trio to work on once I finish cutting the background.  I also have Michigan sitting on my dining room table ready for applique placement and a bit of glue to hold it in place.

My home is decorated...gifts are starting to arrive...friends and family visits are taking place.  The holiday is definitely here!

Nothing to change my stats this week.  Maybe there will be a change with Pumpkin Trio next week.
