The last duck has been completed <Quack, Quack> This guy will soon be cut on the solid lines with the other 11. I am both excited to move on to the next steps of this project nearly as much as I am that it is finished. These ducks are just plain Happy. I headed over to Hobby Lobby after work last night to pick up the floss for the next cross stitch project. While there I checked out the fabric to see if anything twisted my neck for duck sashing and border fabric, but nothing did. You never know where the just perfect fabric will be waiting for you.</span><p></p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEgJkM-ei0FFJW5x4xQa7y1vqhU3Tjvk3O4CO3C9Orjh-zHCWDmNWwtSD-cZj7SdaHISP0F_sIs4ERWmakzbc0_rkrYaRyr_IDjOAfOH7OmgjMjy7sPj8BKZ6xx3db1JII6RF6oMYym0x39GnXyMKXacxK8IQCm5MxCAkixf9ok07vxw3CVlAJZ1XjPXYxU" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: verdana;"><img alt="" data-original-height="570" data-original-width="504" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEgJkM-ei0FFJW5x4xQa7y1vqhU3Tjvk3O4CO3C9Orjh-zHCWDmNWwtSD-cZj7SdaHISP0F_sIs4ERWmakzbc0_rkrYaRyr_IDjOAfOH7OmgjMjy7sPj8BKZ6xx3db1JII6RF6oMYym0x39GnXyMKXacxK8IQCm5MxCAkixf9ok07vxw3CVlAJZ1XjPXYxU" width="212" /></span></a></div><span style="font-family: verdana;">A little about the next project. It is all transportation vehicles. As you would know I needed all but two of the 12 colors of floss. $0.53 is what I paid for each unit. There was a time according to the bands around some of the floss in my stash when they were $0.15 per unit. Can any of you remember a lesser price? You will be seeing a lot of this project once it gets going. It will definitely be my project when I head to Maryland in a couple of weeks.</span><p></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana;">Hope your Wednesday is a good one for you =^.^=</span></p><p><br /></p>kwiltnkatshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14151334139749434757noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1334267864814555249.post-83435157560482882392024-03-04T00:30:00.000-08:002024-03-04T19:33:25.892-08:00Design Wall Monday, March 4, 2024<p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEii0KC0j6DMnHN59eU5Mnx0lnYiIwn4epMwzF9-hBR6mLAtMlHtHR_Kysa9YEsXaMPN78FgjPF2tU5I0T94M6UUVsnKZZeQLBTFHxudQEkVDtWc3iqrFj0oYe5ZrAdcTmOmH05xfoxNp0LmV5woKX20CqHime-eEd-x_Kx0bHomK29rlubu2gcs-s_1QEs/s800/IMG_2006.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: verdana;"><img border="0" data-original-height="639" data-original-width="800" height="256" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEii0KC0j6DMnHN59eU5Mnx0lnYiIwn4epMwzF9-hBR6mLAtMlHtHR_Kysa9YEsXaMPN78FgjPF2tU5I0T94M6UUVsnKZZeQLBTFHxudQEkVDtWc3iqrFj0oYe5ZrAdcTmOmH05xfoxNp0LmV5woKX20CqHime-eEd-x_Kx0bHomK29rlubu2gcs-s_1QEs/s320/IMG_2006.jpg" width="320" /></span></a></div><span style="font-family: verdana;">As you can see I have lots of maple leaves after a full day of sewing yesterday. This was the project that came with templates and a not so complete set of instructions. I was very disappointed when it arrived; made numerous attempts to get the recipe without any satisfaction. Well I ended up making a paper pieced pattern from the few pictures that were available. The tricky part is the pages of the book. It is a bit tough to see them, look close =^.^=</span><p></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana;">I have 13 made now and four others cut into units. Then there there will be one more to find back, spine, and cover fabrics. These blocks are finishing 11 by 12. May decide to cut the top down an inch making them square. From my Korbett project there is enough for sashing for one of the two quilts the 18 blocks will make.</span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana;">Had to purchase another half yard of the background to finish the remaining blocks. I was pretty excited to find more of it! The other thrill is that there will be just enough of the pages fabric to make all the books.</span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana;">Tuesday is Sunshine Quilt Guild monthly meeting and I am excited to check off more UFOs done in the 2023-2024 Challenge. More commonly referred to as "Road" or printed out as "RD2CA". This year's show was my first since 2020. Lots of changes in these past four years. I liked how the quilts were positioned in the convention center; with the main winners in the large hall. The smaller hall held the major part of the quilts and loads of exhibits. There were not as many categories for judging as before. Many favorite vendors were not in attendance, but there were several new to the event. Of course this didn't stop my shopping experience.</span><p></p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEiG0pJEOqbBXlIcGjeT_zS1Ot3yyC5XQ9AVp3Hr_LOg6BMhc24xE05i3jeB06RGfg1t7CGb2eb-XFxGDpiLwWvZBZsX88TKIJRfiR0WYEwNzjH0cLob1ghBaP_Rb9QQrVB4pc76BNYSKKaRRaxG8is7J9Quuac8i9HPrayEtO7Tm1faPLyX-FWTok5a2Fw" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: verdana;"><img alt="" data-original-height="800" data-original-width="600" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEiG0pJEOqbBXlIcGjeT_zS1Ot3yyC5XQ9AVp3Hr_LOg6BMhc24xE05i3jeB06RGfg1t7CGb2eb-XFxGDpiLwWvZBZsX88TKIJRfiR0WYEwNzjH0cLob1ghBaP_Rb9QQrVB4pc76BNYSKKaRRaxG8is7J9Quuac8i9HPrayEtO7Tm1faPLyX-FWTok5a2Fw" width="180" /></span></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: verdana;"><br /></span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEiMduEvQgJqJHy--ucqM1d_cUDJXpo4sSZamob_5UFDg-Yltj__auFmAYgdZV5sgsJ0NBxepszYvIyJ36VdDdFYCybRelAmTLbcx17E5fVzsY1gofbRYVU3o7Z2p0YhTvahOHsETr5x1rzFw98aN6_-Od4NuGge7hh0VNACPZWtdqpGQ-78p0jbsewWsgc" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: verdana;"><img alt="" data-original-height="800" data-original-width="600" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEiMduEvQgJqJHy--ucqM1d_cUDJXpo4sSZamob_5UFDg-Yltj__auFmAYgdZV5sgsJ0NBxepszYvIyJ36VdDdFYCybRelAmTLbcx17E5fVzsY1gofbRYVU3o7Z2p0YhTvahOHsETr5x1rzFw98aN6_-Od4NuGge7hh0VNACPZWtdqpGQ-78p0jbsewWsgc" width="180" /></span></a></div><span style="font-family: verdana;"><br />These first three photos shows the extent of my three days of shopping (a bit more fabric not pictured). American Gatherings is the line from Primitive Gatherings. It has been around since 2021 and quite popular. Kerry used her Accuquilt to cut all the stripes. Excited to finish this during the week. I had it all cut and ready to stitch so assembly was pretty quick. This pattern comes from the 2022 Jolly Box from Fat Quarter Shop. It finishes at 44" x 59". Haven't figured out a name for it yet...there is still time before a label is made. First things first; a trip to Kerry's Quilting.</span><p></p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEgysPqsrkOR923aL44GmbRiPtxoz8UV4rCuXk8fcLLv_8gJG1iHoIKw9bBN70rcA18YRzKC4U_KO9yV2Qw94YZattkVZeyk6XDHxDAOTFeatxiwn3dXSKogNYor-ipmtyFPQbs_x8UwKWj1fUka9hMt2z5HkQu-W9pUPzebD6BkaHimNpHYmKnBbwUMmAw" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: verdana;"><img alt="" data-original-height="800" data-original-width="765" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEgysPqsrkOR923aL44GmbRiPtxoz8UV4rCuXk8fcLLv_8gJG1iHoIKw9bBN70rcA18YRzKC4U_KO9yV2Qw94YZattkVZeyk6XDHxDAOTFeatxiwn3dXSKogNYor-ipmtyFPQbs_x8UwKWj1fUka9hMt2z5HkQu-W9pUPzebD6BkaHimNpHYmKnBbwUMmAw" width="230" /></span></a></div><span style="font-family: verdana;">Another from Fat Quarter Shop, 2022 Spooky Box.
