Glad you decided to look closer at my blog post!

Of course you don't really want to see the back of what I am about to work on...so here are the fronts.

There is just way too many projects going on in my sewing room.  I am feeling overwhelmed =^.^=  I think I need to take down some of these projects an get back to focusing on just one.  I usually start with one and don't work on another until the current one is finished.  How many projects can you see that are in the middle of work?

Adding to the projects is Beware! It's Halloween September BOM.  This one is The Witches Residence.  I think this one will be the most challenging one in the project.  Besides receiving a BOM each month since March and storing them away absolutely nothing has happened with this project.  This will not become a UFO because it will be one of those long time projects for me.

So what's going on in your sewing room?

Kavort is one piece now.  Need to press then cut the tips of the triangles at the edges.  Once Kavort is squared up a small green like the green you can see will be next.  After that two pieced borders of two different HSTs.  This is a large project, Bonnie Hunter's Frolic 2019 Quiltville Mystery.  You aren't missing much but there is a bottom section not in the photo that is identical to the design at the top.

You can see on either side of Kavort three other projects I have been working on.  The top left is from a work shop at 2018 RD2CA called Antique Rose Star by Barbara Black.  Under it are the four blocks that are finished Fit to Frame: Pattern 6 by Lori Smith (she's up to Pattern 16 now).  I work on these usually when I am traveling between home and the East Coast.  Finally poking out from the right side of Kavort is the Sew-in-Place Unity Quilt Along by Bonnie Hunter.  So far I have sewn Part 1.  Part 2 was released today.  I have the instructions printed out but nothing more.

Masks have been occupying my time along with binding Kalypso and Mom's UFO #2.  I will be getting back to the two Bonnie Hunter projects and get the last Sunshine Challenge UFO #6 going.  Those that could from Sunshine Quilt Guild hope to do a VIRTUAL Sharing of our April quilted projects.  I hope a bunch will participate, but it is something new for us all to get comfortable with.  May's meeting was cancelled too along with the annual retreat.  Sad beyond words about the retreat, but it was for the best.  Mom's trip was also cancelled and mine to Kerry's home until all is calm again.  Take care everyone =^.^=

The two new projects from workshops at Road to California grace my design wall momentarily.  Kutarug remains all encompassing until its finish.  The blocks are the first two of several to make Magic Mariner's Compass by Janna Thomas (the Bloc-Loc Queen).  These blocks use the KIS and TIS rulers.  (Kite in a Square and Triangle in a Square.)  Kerry and I both used the 3" size for our projects.  I am using all scraps so as many blocks as can be made with the background is the plan.  The background is left over from my sister's quilt's backing that was made for her last year, Kloggs.  This workshop was on Wednesday.
Antique Rose Star was the Thursday workshop with Barbara Black.  Yardage requirements didn't suggest Charm Packs, but that is exactly what I did.  It worked out fairly well.  The class was for a 3" Marti Michell kite template OR you could make it with a 2" template...guess what Kerry and I used...
We used Barbara's template then scoured all the vendors trying to locate our own during our lunch break.  Can you believe out of the 225 vendors we couldn't find one?  The only downside to using Charm Packs is that you are limited in identical fabrics, but the upside is that the fabrics are similar which gives lots of movement.  Having two of the same Charm Packs works best.  I added in the plaids to move them from my stash!  Won't be able to continue this project until a template is in my sewing room, no worries though I have Kutarug to finish!  Not certain how large my project will end up, but the technique was fun and the making not difficult.
These two were a nice diversion to Kutarug!  Hope that you enjoy your week ahead.  I have a Cat Show to ready Kosmo and Katastrophy for a win!  Wish them a good adventure and ribbons galore!

Sunday Stash Report, July 9, 2017

Yesterday was the day to start registering for Road to California Quilt Show classes.  I hit the select button minutes after 8:00am.  These classes fill up so fast...just after my selections were made I noticed many of them SOLD OUT!  Very happy that Kerry and I made the cut for a Wednesday class Magic Mariner's Compass by Janna Thomas of BlocLoc.
This is the project we will embark upon.  Pretty cool design.  I will use another color or two or three...  The second class will be on Thursday by a designer we are just learning about.  Barbara Black will be leading us through Antique Rose Star.  This one involves the dreaded curve piecing.  It looks like it might be worth it though.
I have three quilts to submit for the show that will be January 18 - 21, 2018.  All of them are traditional pieced using the foundation piecing.  The talents of seven different designers were used in the making.  I learned a bunch of techniques that have been added to my tool box.  Go to classes and try things new!

There will be a time when my statistics will change, but it won't be this week once again.  I am sewing...trust me =^.^=
