Today is my kitty's 17th Birthday.  He's still quite active; although he's not much into toys.  My shadow most of the time.  KoKo is a great alarm clock...  Happy Birthday Komotion.

Just before leaving for my trip I mentioned needing something to stitch on the plane.  I had the first of 12 flower blocks done fairly quick.  Wish I had the time to have prepared more than one.

The second one is now set for lunchtime sewing.  I have the pieces trimmed down and the background has the pencil placement sketched on it.  The green leaves are one piece that will go on first.

While I was away the first of the month came along and Patchwork Times drew a number for the next UFO to be worked on in May.  I was pretty excited to learn it was #11.  I've finished it already!  Leaving the month to work on other big UFOs that will come along the rest of the year.

Getting ready for a couple of deadlines swiftly approaching this month.  I finished up the Sunshine BOM.  Four 2.5" batik squares were provided for a wacky log cabin. Participants were to add various batik strips to have each of four blocks finish at 10".

I also put all the aqua and blue horizontal strip blocks that are done for the swap I am coordinating into their plastic baggies.  Eight sets along with two 3" WOF strips complete the task.  I have also put my own blocks in the photo.

With that said A Prairie Gathering Chapter 4 is on the table.  I'm at making more units for the checkerboard boarder.  Lots more to stitch together for this chapter.

Is your sewing room as busy as mine?  See more projects today through the links at Patchwork Times.

Koko, they (cats of course ) are the best mates . Busy days cutting and sorting, guess he supervises there too.

Are Koko's eyes different colors, or is it just an effect of the photo?
Look at all those projects! Are you doing needle-turned applique? I am trying to recall if I have seen you do that before.

A big belated Birthday to KoKo, looking good, stay healthy KoKo.
Your flower blocks are nicely done, at least you have some done, do you know how you are going to set these?
Isn't it great to be one step ahead on your UFOs, this will give you time to start on the next months pick.
No comment on you winning the BOM? Sure is a difference using Batik material.
Looks like you are moving right along on Kanton Kull

FYI - Since Judy Laquidara at Patchwork Times is no longer doing "Design Wall Mondays", I talked to her and got permission to continue Design Wall Mondays at my blog: http://smallquiltsanddollquilts.blogspot.com/

I hope to see your posts on future Mondays, Judy Hansen
