Here is Orange Crush Part 1.  150 1 1/2" finished four patches.  Most of my dark squares are batiks from the days when I was mostly using batiks.  Not so much anymore, I use my batik stash right along beside all the other cottons.

Part 2 is next.  142 units.  I have trimmed off the dog ears, but you can see that they were still part of the block in this photo.

Part 3 is where I ended today.  22 units mirror image for a total of 44 units.  I will be on to Part 4 that starts using up yardage.  Black and red 3 1/2" strips...you can see why I wanted the 3 1/2" AccuQuilt die =^.^=

Koxcomb is coming along too.  I'm up to the purple and blue wool pieces.  My double adhesive isn't working as it should so I have basting stitches holding the pieces in place.  Pins just get in the way!

Aqua Fit in the morning and then on to Part 4.  Should I call Orange Crush..."Krush"; seems appropriate don't you think?  Have a great day and do a little sewing.

Sunday Stash Report, March 30, 2025

Kluckies is with Kerry for quilting.  Kerry is working towards having it and my Sunshine Challenge project back to me before my visit to mom and dad's home.  I will need to get binding together and ready for sewing into place.  These projects will give me something to do during the long flight.  This counts as my used for this week.

I am further along with Koxcomb than what you see pictured.  I will share progress tomorrow on this project.  It is going along nicely.

The last of the fabrics I have been waiting on for Orange Crush arrived.  I had a half a yard and needed one and a half yards.  This is a Laundry Basket fabric and recent enough that I was able to find more.  This project has been on my sewing table this week.  Progress on it tomorrow too.

These five fabrics are for Millie's Dresses.  I only need four, but I wasn't sure the last piece pictured would work well with a white background.  This is a swap project and although it will look good with my background it might  not with someone else in the swap.  It is darn cute though.  I also have one other fabric in purple that can be used.

Friday had me at Quilt in a Day for AccuQuilt Club.  They always have something fun on sale.  This layer cake was 35% off and I love the French General line.  I was lucky to get it as most of all the other fabrics in this line were already sold. I also picked up a 3" (3 1/2" unfinished) strip die.  It will come in handy for Bonnie Hunter projects since she uses that size strips frequently.

I wasn't sure I would pick this up, but as you can see I did!  It starts with the Tossed Nine-Patch pattern sized down to use charm size (5") squares cut into 2 1/2" units.  The kit was available during the recent shop hop.  I have some orange rick rack that will work great.  I'll have to see what I can find in my stash that will work with orange.  I can see in my future making several of these small projects.

Enough damage to my stash count!

Used this week: 3 yards
Used YTD: 77.75 yards
Purchased this week: 8.5 yards
Purchased YTD: 46.5 yards
Net used in 2025: 31.25 yards

Wednesday Workings, March 26, 2025

Thought to share the cross stamped stitchery that I was working on in the evenings.  I am working on the Platypus right now.  This project has no particular individual in mind.

I got done with Peeps.  I decided not to wait on fabric to arrive from ETSY shops when I had what I thought I didn't in my stash.  This project 90% from my stash.  I wasn't sure about adding the dark purple 30's reproduction, but it seems to work out fine.  Any help out their for a "K" name for Peeps?

I am working on Koxcomb; along with Orange Crush.  None of these are UFO.  I am trying to get ahead of the UFO List.  Happy Wednesday =^.^=

Design Wall Monday, March 24, 2025

Friday while at Rosie's I started cutting out the parts for Peeps.  This will make into a nice Spring table runner.  I need one more 30's Reproduction fabric for the last chick.  I had hoped to find enough fabric at Rosie's but nothing quite seemed to work.  I have some ETSY purchases for Millie's Dresses coming in this week and plan to use some one of the fabrics to complete the recipe for Peeps.

Also at Rosie's I started working on Koxcomb.  Look at all the tiny HSTs!  I'm still a beginner with wool which is what this project is all about.  Threads are available.  Will start on what I know best...cotton HSTs using foundation paper.

This week I am waiting for ETSY fabrics to arrive from four different shops.  A red for Orange Crush, and five from three different shops for Millie's Dresses.  Millie's Dresses will be a swap project, right now with three others.  There is a possibility the number of participants could grow as the project is open to Sunshine members attending the May retreat.  We will be swapping dress, collar, and belt units along with a matching fabric to make part of the border.  There will be more on this project soon.  For now I have enough to keep me in stitches =^.^=  Happy Monday

Sunday Stash Report, March 23, 2025

This came on Monday!  So excited to get Krakow back from Kerry.  There are two more mysteries in the quilting queue along with Grandma Alice's two stitchery projects.  I know one of the two stitchery projects is next to quilt.  Back to Krakow though...I worked on the binding all week and just finished a few hours ago.

This 2025 UFO is finished =^.^=

This week I did have two adds.  The purple was purchased at Rosie's for the Spring table runner that I will share with you tomorrow called Peeps by Pieces From My Heart.  The orange one is from Coffee Patch Fabrics (ETSY).  It will be used for Orange Crush that is Bonnie Hunter's Mystery II.  I am still waiting on more of the red to arrive before I will have all that I need for this project.

Here is what I am working with so far.  More blues will come into the mix once I hunt through my 2" strips or create more :)  The neutrals are easy.  These are the ones that are cut at 2" already that will be the first to use.  The first units to be made are four patches with 2" units of neutral and blues.

Happily I finished my Idiom Challenge project this week.  I am sewing the back together today.  On Tuesday it will be on its way to Kerry for quilting.  Nothing purchased for this project YEAH!

So there is some change with my stash stats today.

Used this week: 2 yards
Used YTD: 74.75 yards
Purchased this week: 2.5 yards
Purchased YTD: 38 yards
Net used in 2025: 39.25 yards

All the buttons are in place on Klondike Krew.  So what do you think of my snowman now?

Happy Wednesday!

Working on this year's project so there is nothing to share from my Design Wall.  It is coming along nicely is all that I can share.

I have finished Kolorado.  This Row by Row project gifted to me by Marti when she was working with Ruth's Stitchery turns into a very nice table runner.  There was lots to do in this small 12" by 39" project.  Thanks Marti!

Klondike Krew is in its finishing touches.  I have all the "noses" (carrots) on each of the 16 snowman.  Next up is the 36 eyes.  These have to be the worst buttons to work with.  The carrots are cute, but the holes aren't finished well in the back.  I'm struggling with each button honestly, taking much more time than they should.  They are indeed necessary though to build some life into these snowman.

I have Corned Beef and all the right vegetables cooking in my slow cooker today for dinner later tonight.  Nine hours of cooking with the 1" sliced cabbage going in at eight hours.  It is smelling really good as I work on the snowman!  Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone.

Sunday Stash Report, March 16, 2025

Karolina Krossroads was finished.  This is Bonnie Hunter's first mystery called Carolina Crossroads.  (In case you are noticing the white dot at the top right...it's the ceiling fan pull LOL.)

I set about to use one of my new dies from AccuQuilt, the 10" square.  I have a bunch of neutrals that needed to be tamed!  Nearly all of these are of a word theme.  I needed nine across and down for Karolina Krossroads.  The last row is on the floor, you can just about make it out.

The back is all together and just like that it all fits on my wall.  It will soon come down and along with the Karolina Krossroads top it will be on its way to Kerry for magic =^.^=

Sharing also today February BOM coordinated by Hallie and WON by Teresa.  I didn't make the March meeting so it will go in the mail to Teresa.

Jennifer was good to send me the March BOM.  I thought Gina was on for March, there seems to have been a swap?  I like how the purple batik accented the fun background.  I used the triangles on a roll for my HSTs.

There was a bit of an add this week, the last of the Challenge fabric arrived.  I'll be sharing more on this after May's meeting.  A big used with Karolina Krossroads!

Used this week: 14.25 yards
Used YTD: 74.75 yards
Purchased this week: 1.5 yards
Purchased YTD: 35.5 yards
Net used in 2025: 39.25 yards

Wednesday Workings, March 12, 2025

All set now for stitching the rows together.  This project is on point, a surprise to me because it doesn't look as though it would be.  I will be using the two fabrics on the left to finish it off.  Bonnie used scrappy for both inner and outer border, but I will only use one fabric for each of the borders.  Now to think of a "K" name...  Maybe Karolina Krossroads!

Happy Wednesday =^.^=

Design Wall Monday, March 10, 2025

I have the top assembled and am working on the setting triangles.  They are more work than the blocks!  There are four done so far with several more to go.

There is a mess on my sewing table making these units.  I will be busy with these this week.  There should be more to show on Wednesday.  Carolina Crossroads =^.^=

Sunday Stash Report, March 9, 2025

I have been sewing a lot as I get through a cold picked up last Monday.  DH and I have been keeping distance so as not for him to catch it.  As you can see I am quickly moving through Carolina Crossroads.  This project is Bonnie Hunter's first mystery.  The pattern is available in her first book, Scraps & Shirttails.

I have sewn all the block units and only have about four more to get to nine patches.  The remaining parts are the setting triangles and corners.  She designed this project with two outer simple borders.  I will have to see what blues I have left to finish it off correctly.

Saturday's mail brought two projects back to me from Kerry.  Klondike Krew really needs the notions to make these happy snowmen.  I have black buttons for eyes and carrot buttons for noses.  Red binding will work well.  Binding all ready to apply.

Kolorado came at the same time.  This project was a gift years ago from Marti.  I hope she takes a look at this post and has a treat that it was finished.  It will make a lovely table runner during the holiday season.

I have been getting fabrics for the Sunshine Quilt Guild 2024-2025 Challenge.  I don't have it all quite yet, but a 3.75 yards have arrived so far.

Used this week: 0 yards
Used YTD: 60.25 yards
Purchased this week: 3.75 yards
Purchased YTD: 34 yards
Net used in 2025: 26.25 yards

Wednesday Workings, March 5, 2025

Mom finished 14 heart blocks from the Quiltmaker pattern Hearts for Linus published years ago.  She does enjoy making this paper pieced block.  Anyway I recently got them back and went to work with my stash to complete them into charity quilts.

It was a bit of a struggle with having enough of the fabrics I decided to use, but you can see they both ended well.  Hopefully Dale who helps Mom with binding won't be too unhappy with the very straight seam binding to be used.  These will be in the mail today back to Mom for donations in her area.

I will be back to 1.5" strip cutting with my AccuQuilt Go! later today.  I went through my 1.5" and 2" scraps for reds and blues that I need for Carolina Crossroads.  I found that I hardly had any in my scrap stash in these colors.  Oh well, I will be cutting into my yardage instead.  I do need to get these totes better managed so I can close them =^.^=

Also in the mail today will be Kirilowii and a few trinkets (thanks Candi) and notions to Kerry.

I'm fighting a cold URGH...

Design Wall Monday, March 3, 2025

All done and ready for Kerry is Kirilowii.  It feels good to have a big completion.  Now what's next?

Using up my Accuquilt Go! to cut the scraps for another project, but of course!  Another Bonnie Hunter so that I can use up scraps from Kirilowii.  This one requires neutrals, reds, and blues.  I have a very good start on the blues that are already in the project basket.  I will be sorting through my already 1.5" scraps for the neutrals and reds then I'll use the Accuquilt Go! to get me the requirements.  This project is Bonnie Hunter's first mystery called Carolina Crossroads.  No sewing yet as there are other projects to get through first.

While at Quilt In A Day this past Friday I learned about the Shop Hop in the area starting next week.  Sharing with you the details.  I may hit one up.  I was a bit surprised that Rosie's wasn't part of the event.

Tossed Nine-Patch scaled down was demonstrated during the Accuquilt Club event too.  Isn't it cute?  I like the smaller size and the 5" squares are part of the pattern.  They added a rick-rack to the mix too.  I just might be looking for this pattern!

What I will be working on is the Sunshine 2024-2025 IDIOM Quilt Challenge.  I have the pattern and fabrics ordered that should be arriving from four different vendors starting later this week.  You know I can't share!

Taking Kirilowii off my Design Wall and replacing with a very cute heart project my mom made the blocks for.  I will be adding some fabrics for border(s) and/or sashing and a back.  When I have it all together it will be sent back for her to donate to a charity in her area.  Mom has a team to quilt (Sherry) and bind (Dale) for her.  Teamwork!  I will be sharing her project on Wednesday.  Until next then happy sewing =^.^=
