Sunday Stash Report, December 14, 2025

I will be doing paper piecing on Part 4 of Lupine & Laughter.  No more new rulers for me!  I pulled the fabric and just need to get started.  Part 3 still waits for pinks.  I could get to sewing what I have, but kind of dragging on this.  Need a pinch to get me off Winterberry and back to this project.

I have as much cut and prepared as I have fabric for on Block 1 of Winterberry.  The mint fabric needs more.  I have one more block's worth of this mint to stitch up.  This block takes lots of time to sew because of all the units.  I will be stitching more blocks yet today.  Next up will use a different mint.  I should have photos of it in tomorrow's post.  I still need more mint fabric...Rosie's day is this coming Friday =^.^=

Block 2 is all finished.  There are 18 Block 1s and 17 Block 2s.

I got an early Christmas gift from Kerry.  She's in town with her family, but found lunch on Friday time with me.  Unlike me she is on top of our yearly exchange.  Guess what I will be using, before Christmas.

Nothing changes my stash this week in the used category.  I did find a couple more minks and the last fabric arrived for Winterberry.  I am getting closer to completions on several projects.  It is looking like it will hit the 2026 count.

Used YTD: 276 yards

Wednesday Workings, December 10, 2025

Scatter Garden is moving along.  It is time to stitch the middle nine blocks together.  I haven't yet cut the next installment, but am eager to work on this project again.  Takes so long to cut out an installment because there are so many units.  These are small pieces!  Scatter Garden is a 2025 UFO.

I am at a stall until more pinks arrive either by way of friends or Shabby Fabrics.  I need eight of them or I will start doubling up which I really hate to do.  It's a scrappy project and variety is key.  This is Lupine & Laughter a 2026 UFO.

Winterberry still has some stitching that I can work on.  I cut out the last eight units that go around each of Block 2.  Block 1 is completely cut out, but waiting on a cream floral fabric also from Shabby Fabrics.  I got word that this fabric has shipped!  This is a 2026 UFO.

Three items to share with you from the Sunshine Quilt Guild Holiday Meeting.  First is my gift from the Seasonal Exchange.  I am not sure who it came from, but FUN =^.^=.  The second is the monthly offering of the BOM.  There were two different blocks to choose from; the other a Christmas tree.  I have pulled fabrics and will be getting to the stitching soon.  Last is from the fabric vendor who sets up shop with bins of 108" backings.  This three yard dot was calling out to me.

Things are looking more on the bright side.  Outdoor Christmas lights are being readied for hanging.  My annual Christmas letter needs composing too.  Hope all at your home is merry and bright!

Katkins is complete.  This is one of my UFOs for this year.  It comes from the 2025 Spooky Box, Fat Quarter Shop.

These are Block 2s of Winterberry.  I am waiting on the arrival of a cream floral to make up Block 1.  I have cut the other pieces for Block 1 already.  Once the fabric arrives stitching will comence again.  Fabric has shipped!

I used all scraps for Block 2 with the exception of the cream floral.  Love the center block...look close to understand why.

I am still working on the cutting of Part 3, Lupine & Laughter, Bonnie Hunter's Winter Mystery.  I figured that I might as well do the smallest and largest HSTs first since they both used pink/neutral fabrics.  Not sure how far I will get because my pinks are quickly disappearing in the units.  The last HSTs to cut will be pink/purple.  Pinks have shipped!

Received notice today that Installment 5 of Home for the Holly Days is running a bit late.  I have already stitched the installment with the abundant fabric not used from previous installment.  I am not sure I can get through Installment 6, but certainly I will try once Lupine & Laughter is cut and sewn.

Kassy was my handstitching partner today.  Until next time =^.^=

Sunday Stash Report, December 7, 2025

Part 3 of Lupine & Laughter is well on its way.  The cutting will take sometime as there are lots of HST parts in three sizes to be prepared.

I started on the smallest size.  These are pink/neutral 1.5 inch finished.  There are 25 sets of 4 that start with 2 inch strips.

These are the neutrals that are needing a pink strip.  I'm real low on pinks sadly.

I shopped at Rosie's and only came home with two pinks.  Two is just not enough so I did some online shopping at Shabby Fabrics.  Sure hope that some of the half yard cuts of Carnation work out to be the color I am after.

I found the back for Lupine & Laughter.  Love a paisley =^.^=

This green came home too.  It will be used along with the other dark greens for the Winterberry project.

For this week nothing to report as used, but purchased there is a change.  I have more to share tomorrow so make sure you check out my Design Wall Monday post.

Used this week: 0 yards
Used YTD: 276 yards
Purchased this week: 6.5 yards
Purchased YTD: 145 yards
Net used in 2025: 131 yards

Wednesday Workings, December 3, 2025

Part 2 of Lupine & Laughter is complete.  There are 72 each of the two different colorways.  Bring on Part 3.

There was quite a bit to trim off in these units.  The trimming took me most of Tuesday night.  The purple/neutral FGs were the first to be trimmed followed up by the neutral/pink FGs.  I would have liked a bit more variety in the pinks, but this project will come from what's on hand.  Well at least until I can get to a fabric shop!

Although I have no photos to share now, Winterberry is coming along in the cutting process.  I missed needing one more of the Make it Merry line of fabrics.  Shabby Fabrics had it and I will soon have it for Block 1 =^.^=  In the meantime I am putting together Block 2.

Have a great Wednesday.

Design Wall Monday, December 1, 2025

Well it is the first day of December...just ran through all eleven months of 2025 in a flash.  My quilting sure has kept me busy.  I am so thankful that I found this hobby.  I love a new project and the finish of the one in work.  It would be awesome if all the great projects that have come my way could be stitched.  There is only so much time in a day.  That said, Bonnie Hunter's Winter Mystery is in full production in my home.  I cut out the neutrals and purples on Sunday.

Today has me finishing the pinks.  This shade of pink, I'll call it carnation, is not one that I have readily on hand.  I used more than a few of one fabric to come up with the 72 units required for Part 2 of Lupine & Laughter.  Rosie's is calling my name for carnation pinks when I get there this Friday.

Hope to get done with all the flying geese by Wednesday.  There will be pink geese with neutral wings and neutral geese with purple wings.  A combined total of 144 flying geese.  My featherweight is all set to "fly".

Happy December =^.^=
