Part 1 of Kourtepointe (aka, En Provence) is finished.  I spent Sunday finishing them.

I wonder what color is next?  I am also trying to come up with a name for my En Provence.  Something French that starts with a "K" =^.^= would work perfectly.  Any ideas are welcome.  Figured it out on 12/21/16.  The French equivalent of quilt is courtepointe.  They call their quilts a bed cover or bedspread.

In the meantime Krosscheck will be on the sewing machine...as soon as I pull fabrics!  I am linking up with Quiltville.com and PatchworkTimes.com.

Lavenders from Kerry arrived.  We are sharing these seemingly hard to find lavender fabrics.  These came from Memory Lane and her stash.

This is Part 1 of Kourtepointe (aka, En Provence).  I will be using 3 yards of neutrals for the project.  I have not done any counting yet, just stitching strips and blocks from my precut scraps.  Once this heap has been ironed and cut to the correct size the counting will begin.  I will need 221 4-patches.  I am also looking for help naming this French project...

Have you ever used the Bloc-Loc Strip-Set Ruler?  It works very nice keeping the units true to size.  For the squares I use the standard ruler.

Kookoo Katchu has it's binding all sewn down.  Anxious to have it done, but love the opportunity to bind.

Here is a close up of the great quilting by Kerry.  The circles follow the design from the middle of the quilt.  I'm not the best for capturing quilting, but hopefully I have managed to give you a good look.

I had a finish in Konstant Konnection early last week.  There are more 2016 UFOs to stitch between En Provence Parts.  Soon you will be seeing Kozy Korners or Krosscheck under the needle.  For now here are my stats:

Used this week: 3.75 yards
Used YTD:  201.75 yards
Purchased this week:  0 yards
Purchased YTD:  128 yards
Net used in 2016:  73.75 yards

Konstant Konnection is finished =^.^=  This is a cute Schnibbles design called Domino by Miss Rosie's Quilt Co.  The pattern and fabrics (kissing booth by basicgrey for Moda) came to me by way of a UFO Parade entry with 52Quilts in 2014.  It is my November 2016 UFO.  It is made from two charm packs and a bit of background.  Only finishes at 33" square.  So you can see why it came together so quickly.  I needed a quick project this month!

The fabric to the left will be used as the backing.  I will have to find something for the binding, but that shouldn't be a problem.  The sewing table needs to be clear this week to make way for the start of Bonnie Hunter's Fall Mystery.  Looking forward to working with new rulers and some nice fabric colors.

If you have time see all the projects on Patchwork Times.

Knikknakk is finished...=^.^=

This was a fun project.  Lots of very busy blocks, but they all came together quite nicely.  Good job Janelle Noack with a great design in Hopsoctch.  I did the math converting the yardage from metric system.  I think I did it correctly.

Used this week: 15 yards
Used YTD:  198 yards
Purchased this week:  0 yards
Purchased YTD:  128 yards
Net used in 2016:  70 yards

WIP Wednesday, November 16, 2016

Knikknakk Block 7 is finished.  It was mostly done on Monday, but last night saw its last stitches.  I think that this is my least favorite of the block designs.  I don't much like the large middle section that each of these blocks contain.  Maybe it is the fabric choices I used.  I may change the blue check square at the top right to the dark blue that is used at the bottom.

Knikknakk Block 8 finished too.  When it is placed next to Block 7 a different green might be better for the top left square.  I am also considering a different blue; again perhaps the dark blue for the long strip on the left side.  It is the same fabric as Block 7 bottom.  A bit too close for using the same two fabrics.

I will be working on Block 9 later tonight.

Super Moon over San Diego
Did you get a chance to look at the Super Moon?  If not, tonight's the night when it is at its peak.  I saw it last night and plan to catch it tonight because I am not certain I will be around when it next appears!

Yesterday I had planned to work on my version of Hopscotch, Knikknakk.  I've probably mentioned before that this project requires lots of cutting.  I was comfortable at the table watching football so I ended up cutting out the last three blocks.  Happy that is out of the way =^.^=

I didn't get too far into the sewing before it was time to call it quits for the evening.  This is the start of Block 7.  I imagine once I am back in the sewing room after my working day this block and probably Block 8 will be stitched.  Maybe even Block 9 will see a start.

I need a strong light or better yet daylight to work on the binding of KooKoo Katchu.  The dark blue binding isn't quite as tough as black, but definitely somewhere close.  Love a binding project!  Maybe I need to start an applique project...what do you think?

Have a wonderful week everyone.  Hook up with Patchwork Times to see more fun projects in work from around the globe.

Sunday Stash Report, November 13, 2016

I did some enhancing this week.  Two black and white 1/4 yard pieces for a project I am building, a deep blue for binding KooKoo Katchu, and finally three lavenders for Bonnie Hunter's Mystery.  My numbers are still pretty good.  The used YTD is ahead of the purchased YTD.  I should have a couple more finishes yet this year that will have me finishing a bit better in the net statistics.

Here are my purchases...

I will be splitting the lavender with Kerry =^.^=  She has some to split with me too!  We are having some difficulties finding lavender in our area.

Today I continue to work on Knikknakk.  I just finished Block 6 with three more to go before sashing.  The longest part of these 20 1/2" blocks is the cutting.  They are quite filled with different designs.  The only consistent design in them is the flying geese.

I am excited to see that the center block is "packing that punch" I had hoped to achieve.

Used this week: 0 yards
Used YTD:  183 yards
Purchased this week:  3 yards
Purchased YTD:  128 yards
Net used in 2016:  55 yards

Well today is Election Day!  Nearing the last day we have to receive pamphlets, annoying telephone calls, and listen to "vote for me" on any possible social media possible!  Wow this has been a crazy process to put it mildly.  But voting is the right thing to do and we know it's true; so make sure you cast your ballot so that your voice is heard.

Last night I worked exhaustively on a "Flower" puzzle that my Dad prepared for me.  Frankly it turned into an all night endeavor until at 63% complete and hours into it I screamed UNCLE!  The online puzzle company is pretty neat.  You can make any of their library of puzzles or create your own.  If you are a puzzle lover check out their site.  http://www.jigsawplanet.com/

Once I gave up on finishing the puzzle Dancing With The Stars was on.  Between watching the dancers I pulled fabrics for Bonnie Hunters upcoming mystery.  This is what I have so far.

From the top third and fifth down may come out too.  They are looking too dark in this photograph.  I was pretty excited about the one third from the bottom when it came home with me last week, but now I am not so sure.

I'm liking the stripe at the bottom, but may change my mind when I see how it will be used.
The second one up from the bottom is a no go after seeing it photographed in this grouping.
I have yet to look for more of the greens that I am positive there will be enough.  The lavender shortage will prompt a visit to one of our local fabric shops.  Once I know the size of the units looking through my strips will ensue.

Tonight is Sunshine Quilters monthly meeting.  I'll be having dinner with the speaker, Ann Turley, and many of the members prior to the meeting.  Italian will be the menu, a favorite of mine.  Kerry and I will be selling chances on the bimonthly opportunity at the meeting.  We present it for the first time tonight.  It is a cute holiday wall hanging using a basket design.  Hope it does well for the guild.

Design Wall Monday, November 7, 2016

I started working on the center block thinking about using the busy multi colored fabric as the outer most part of the block.  You know the eye always goes to the middle first.  The center block needed to be somewhat more outstanding than the others.  What do you think...will it work?
This block would introduce some new fabrics for sure!  The orange is new, not to mention the multi colored fabric.  The orange worked out great...so far so good.

So pleased that everything else worked out as I'd envisioned.
Knikknakk is looking great through Block 5.  There is a red sashing that will run through the blocks.  There is also a green print for the border coming.  What do you think so far?
See more projects through the links at Patchwork Times.  Enjoy your week =^.^=

Everything Knikknakk

Sunday Stash Report, November 6, 2016

Can you guess what I'm building my stash up for?  I'll let you figure it out =^.^=  You will see lots more coming out of bins in preparation for Clue 1 that becomes known closer to Thanksgiving.

For now I'm working on Knikknakk.  I looked and looked again at the first three blocks and decided that I wasn't too happy with them.  There were a few pieces that needed to change in each one.  Out came Clover...  Can you see the differences in each of the blocks?  Do you like what I've done?
Block 1
Block 1 Better
Block 2
Block 2 Better
Block 3

Block 3 Better
I decided after redoing the first three blocks I'd use my design wall when making the remaining six blocks.  Block 4 has come out well on the first attempt YIPPEE!
Block 4
More blocks being sewn today.  See them all together tomorrow on my Design Wall.  Don't forget to set your clocks back.

Finally a small project was selected for November 2016 UFO.  #8 that I'm calling Konstant Konnection.  This one will finish at 33" x 33".  The pattern and fabrics were from an October 2014 UFO Parade win with Aunt Marti.  Konstant Konnection should make a cute baby quilt or table topper.

Oh my goodness already November!
